This was great. You did a hella job. I just pick up my truck . 2022 chevy trailboss 6.2 and the sound from factory leaves much to be desired. I've done my oil changes changed my brakes small stuff like that. Well you've given me the motivation to try to DYI this. Going with the kooks headers and the quad tip borla attak. Your truck sounds bad ass bro.

What exhaust do you have on the truck? Ive got Borla Exhaust Type S and love them. No drone. Also do you know if these parts are CARB compliant? Im in Cali, and they pushing CARB compliance hard. Makes it difficult to do any upgrades.
I have the Texas Speed & Performance catback exhaust. Check out my install video. Kooks does offer a catted Y pipe for emissions testing.

Hey boss do you have any fuel smell in the truck when driving? I’m really on the fence for catted vs non catted. Was thinking about pairing a whipple supercharger on my 6.2 Silverado as well…daily driver
Yes I do slightly smell the 🌽 every once in a while. Not unbearable but yes non catted will definitely allow the smell of fuel
I personally love the smell of burned 🌽 lol
Have you experienced any header tick while driving? I did headers to my 2012 and the tick was fairly noticeable while the engine was under load, I now have a 2018 and am curious before I decide to do it again. Awesome truck btw, I have a white all terrain just like yours with the 6.2.
Yes you can definitely here the direct injection a bit more with the headers.
What's the chirping sound under the passenger side? Mine does the same thing
What size lift happens to be on your truck and tire size? Mine sits to low for my liking and I like room to change oil. Way mine sits right now it’s a pain to get under it and zero room to move.
The truck came with a 3.5" knuckle lift from RC when I purchased it.
Which way did you face your header gaskets
How’s the drone when you’re cruising? I have long tubes with no cats and an mbrp cat back and I wanna change out the mbrp
No drone whatsoever. Highly recommend the TSP catback. The integrated cutout is a plus!

Yes I did but after the tune it was removed.

I believe Kooks has a Black Friday sale going on, I'd check to save a few bucks. It took me about 5-6 hours if I'm not mistaken. It was my 1st time installing headers so I took my time.

I haven’t really found anyone that is doing mods to these trucks on CZcams that I would like to do such as the mods you are doing to your truck. I watched your ZR1 LT5 throttle body install- great idea. I am trying to find someone where I live that can port my intake and runners as well.

Did you reuse your factory gaskets or the ones that came with the headers? And did it say ACEL without a tune
Set a cel. Stupid phone.
I bought brand new OE gaskets for the install and yes I had a cel light on. Once tuned it turned off

There's definitely a huge difference with all the mods done. With the TCM unlocked & tuned shift points & firmness are great!

I have a question, when buying the off-road y-pipe. I don’t know if they’ve recently changed at the checkout. It ask for the make model and vin number of my vehicle, if you had the same page what did put down? Your vehicle?

How is the oil catch can? how often do you clean it out and are you going to upgrade to 6 ounces?
The catch can has been working perfectly. I'll empty it about every oil change. The plan is to upgrade to the 6oz I just haven't gotten to ordering it yet. Thanks for watching! 🤙

My county doesn't do emissions testing for the safety inspection

did tuner tune tcm too? shes moving! i just got done installing a circle d 32-34 stall on my high country 8l90 transmission i heard i have to get tcm tuned to mess with shift points
i had got mines ecm tuned and shift points where the same and tuner even said they couldn’t add the tow haul button to downshift ig not yet on the 8 speeds did u deal with the same? did tow haul worked after tcm tune?

is there a difference between the longtube and the regular kooks headers?
If you're talking about a difference in long tube vs short tube headers there is a difference. Typically short tube headers shine low to mid range and long tube shines mid to high range.

I am not sure about that. Reach out to Kooks Customer Service for more info. I do know tuning for 19+ is way more expensive than the previous Gen 14-18
Any estimates on tuning for the 2015 Sierra SLT 6.2L after long tube installed? Any issues w/problematic lifters, I've only done generic tune/programmer to shutoff /delete

It's a Texas Speed & Performance catback. 3.5" with integrated cutout. It's an awesome system!
I want to ask abt the cutout you have ive seen it before but not exactly where to buy it, what kind is it and has it lasted a while
It is the QTP 3.5" cutout. No issues whatsoever
Looking to do headers as well. Why kooks over TSP or Speed engineering?
I've always bought Kooks and never had fitment issues. I can't speak for the others but I have read some have had issues with them.

Did they make your truck throw the check engine light
Yes, I deleted the rear O2s. Once tuned the check engine light turned off.
Are headers worth it? And does it make the truck super loud even with the muffler?
Headers are 100% worth it. After installing header the truck will obviously be louder but there are some exhaust systems that can quite it down. Some people even install headers and keep the factory catback exhaust.
What’d you do to make your truck run e85?
I added a flex fuel sensor. Check out my video of the install on my channel! 🤙🏼
How do you like the tune?
Tune is great, no issues with anything. Highly recommend Rick Clark over at Unlimited Performance in Corpus Christi, TX.
How U plug in the o2 senors
I plugged them into the factory harness. For the rear o2 sensors I used plugs to seal the holes on the y pipe

Was there any check engine lights with stock o2 sensors?
Also are they completely stretched out yo make the connections?
I did have a check engine light come on because I deleted the rear o2 sensors. During tuning they removed the check engine light. Factory wires were long enough to reach the bungs on the headers.

@@Usawrestling113 with Kooks yes. I had no issues with the o2 sensors not reaching the bungs. I can't speak the same for any other brand header.
@@Usawrestling113 as far as to why I can't tell you much aside from what my tuner told me. There's no need for the rears because I have no cats.
Rear O2 sensors are only used for catalytic efficiency, now that they are removed there’s no reason to have them on. They will cause a engine light from the cats being remove.

It don’t have Mahle Pistons 10:1CR Callies Magnum 4.00 Stroker 416, Callies Compstar Extreme Rods, Lingenfelter DI High Volume Fuel Pump, Whipple 17Lbs. Custom Inline fuel system. It isn’t a 1200HP Trail Boss and no i cant wait to spin all 4😂😂😂😂 Dont forget the Electric Exhaust control valves from Ebay to get Open headers on the fly

Who tuned it if you don’t mind me asking? HP Tuner? Diablew? Etc…
Did you have to use O2 sensor extension to keep the CEL MIL from being on? Or do you know if they were turned off using the tune?
@@pat14lang it was tuned using HP Tuners. And no o2 extensions were used. Check engine light came on but was removed with the tune.
