It is my understanding that the Constitutional Court of Portugal this week declared the recent law changes to the Portuguese Citizenship for descendants of Sephardic jews to be constitutional.
So where does that leave pending applications? Will the new laws be applied retrospectively (as of January 2024) or retroactively (back to September 2022)? If the new laws are retroactively applied, 99% of all pending cases will not meet the application requirements. Please update. Many thanks.
