- There are a ton of Discord bots that you can use to create your Discord server. But there are also a ton of Discord bots that have the sole purpose of destroying your server. Nuke bots are a very common sight on Discord, from big servers to small servers.
But is this simply people seeking revenge on a server owner for being banned? Or is there a sub-community of people on Discord that specifically seek out Discord servers to destroy solely for the sake of looking cool to their friends? Well I'm bad at teasing you but yep, there are Discord trolls that nuke and raid Discord servers for the sole sake of destruction and self amusement.

If you ever invite bots, only give them the permissions they need to operate (never give admin) and that goes for your staff as well.

@@UtubeH8tr discord is great when you use it for friend groups and hanging out, stuff like that, it gets bad when you go to the dating discords and Egirl/boy servers, even worse are the "18+" discords, it has it's place as a community hub but only for people you know and trust, other than that, there are better ways to meet people

sadly people will and do it for carl/yag/pro/dyno and more so they then feel if them bots are safe why not give it to this other bot
i have sold a bot to 20/30 people, and this bot is a "fake" nuke bot that will auto-report the user to discord and attempt to delete itself. while also trying to warn server owners about the mistake they had made by allowing the bot to join.
tbh i like to nuke my own private server for fun to see how these bots work so kinda not valid for doing that

FOR EVERYONE, you guys should be fine if you dont give any random admin.
I recommend not giving admin or let admins+ add bots since this shit happens now, aswell use WICK bot and other anti nuke bots,
aswell increase moderation and security.
NEITHER add random unverified and not trusted bots.
This wont make impossible for people to still nuke your server YET it will prevent it a lot.

things is as well, watch who you give permissions to but also no bot needs admin rights... tweak the bots to what you need/what bot needs but ya even bots can be hacked.. its not something that happens alot but this can protect you as well

I remember being raided but I didn't really care about the server st the time (I was a mod) but the owner wanted revenge, so we started to dig into the audit logs, where one admin, gave perms to one person who gave perms to some bot.

dd on top may be quite a misnomer.
You would normally see dd IN top... Where dd is a disk writing program under *Nix operating systems, and top is the command line equivalent to a task manager under *Nix OSes.
I was a moderator for DD once I thought it was pretty cool, nuked a couple servers but I realized people get really upset and I don’t wanna be like those 12 yr olds nuking servers thinking their cool. I got demoted cause I was not active in the server anymore but I’m glad I am and I left.
Now, developers, say it with me, "Why pay for premium when you can just develop a bot by yourself"

About a week ago two people tried to get the DD Security Bot into my server so, I tried getting it into a server my friend made for this occasion and they said: "This server is not built we need a built server with more people" They said it had Anti-raid capabilities and they said the bot was called DD Security. So I did some digging and sure enough I found out that it mass pings servers and even before I did the digging, I am not braindead enough to realize that it was an obvious scam, and it mass pings you. So don't trust most people on Discord.
I once was in a team dedicated to nuking servers, specifically targeting roblox e-dating servers. I once spent ~2 months infiltrating a server of a couple thousand users, a lot of them being under TOS age. The server never recovered and I got a death threat from the owner lmao

As a python and c++ computer science major, it's so funny to me how these kids will never learn how their copy and paste git hub repo code actually works and the job they will be getting if any is going to be as good as the Discord support ticket system.
There's actually something called the "Principle of least privilege" which involves only granting bots the permissions they need to run.

Honestly Discord themselves should step in and add a way to limit bot functions so that nukes can’t even happen but they are too busy trying to make money and add dumb features over actual security.

There are legitimate functions for everything in the Discord API - that would affect some legit bots.
One of my favorite servers got nuked by a guy called HydeinJ (made a request about him) he used deaddestroyers, worst thing is, DD know him as their the best buyer or smth.
one of the servers i was in called TUK just got nuked. The raider who was a trusted part of the comunity with admin perms deleted all roles but he didnt have perms to delete all channels so they are in normal condition

Yeah... For servers the owner should really trust their staff members, Like example... My friend who is a developer trusted his friends (including me) to be a Moderator. and so far while their games are getting more popularity, these people would try to befriend us and say "Hey, i can make a custom bot for you"
Little did they know that we didn't need any of that because we already have Dyno, and ServerStats for the server. But we had to make sure that the bots are verified, with double checking.
So far so good, no raids or nukes whatsoever, We also added logs that cannot be managed by any Moderator but the Owner himself so he can track whoever touched the Roles, Permission and so on.

Stuff like this is the reason, the only Bots that are getting on my servers are bots I coded myself. I'd rather go througt the trouble of coming up how to do something myself, but therefore knowing the code afterwards and being able to customize every little thing to my needs, than being lazy and adding a random bot that theoretically could do anything to my server

You give the code, you can just say the code is safe and if there's any concerns it can always be proofread by another programmer

I used to make these bots when I was younger. Got banned for API abuse and had to interact with the most toxic folks on this platform. I didn't know what I was thinking back then.

One thing that i found that I do like is theres this neat thing called audit log and you can search and see exactly what and when stuff like this happened sure it spans the audit log but search function if i rember right forgot tbh but should have it so at the very least you can get a server to the bare minimum for what it needs or if you don't want 80 different channels to be lost why have so many pretty much all a server needs is general maybe 1 or 2 extra so people arent mad cause can't exactly chat and a meme channel because memes and if it's gaming channel vc aswell yes it's small but no point in alot of channels when they get used like twice by the mods to try stuff and then never again plus if bot needs admin just make it a "admin role" with limited stuff yes it may not be able to fully do what it needs but it will have enough to work

One of my former friends used a bot to nuke a server filled with... lets say, not the best people, from what I hear they are still trying to pick up the pieces about 8 months later.
But later on he turned out to not be the best person, so half the group that played with him left the server he made after, and I'll tell you my mental hasn't been better in years.

I know a guy on Discord apart of one of these gangs like this (not dead destroyers, but another group), and I used to be in their little community server
I used to absolutely hate them, but somehow I got added to a group chat with him that a friend who's affiliated somehow with gangs like these added me to, and we became friends somehow
They nuked and hacked a bunch of Gacha related servers/users, and theyre rlly infamous in the gacha voice acting community (I think they still are? I left the community a while ago lol)
Ive seen so many people get hacked and so many servers get nuked by them, and its srsly disappointing how many people dont know not to give bots admin, especially if its a custom made bot/bot requested to be added by the 14-yr-old
