    Details about clinical or academic specialty, USMLE, scholarships and self-sponsored postgraduate studies are described in the video but the links are listed below. Since i prepared this thinking the questions I had back in early days of graduation many of the information may be elementary for our seniors, but this is mainly meant for the junior folks. The aim of the video is knowledge transfer and I challenge every senior physician reading this to contribute, by sharing their experience.

    After four years in medical school, I begin to love medicine. I have been in a constant state of depression since I joined medicine. This video opened my eyes and thank you Kira for that. I have been reading different books to motivate myself, but the real motivation is gotten by looking at someone's experience.

    Good video. One correction tho, not all medical schools of our country listed in the world directory are recognized by ECFMG. After the search you have to click on your schools/university and click on the tab that says 'sponsor notes' and read if there is a note from ECFMG.
    As of now, out of 37 medical schools in Ethiopia just 15 have recognition from ECFMG. Only graduates from these 15 medical schools are eligible for USMLE. Go and check for yourselves

    • @hakimkirubel
      @hakimkirubel  Před 3 lety

      Yeah but those schools which had no sponsor notes were getting in to the list with few effort from The school and The students. The recently added priveate and public Med schools are The examples. None of this may not matter after 2024 since there is a high chance most schools will not be in the new list.
      Thank You for the comment ✌🏽

      Of course you can , you just need your documents, some universities let's you Apply with the tempo and want to see the original during registration. The accademic year in 90% of the countries starts on September. Meaning they start accepting applications from april till June/July. And start class on September. Consider this time frame both in collecting your documents and taking IELTS.

      For the LOR it can be both from academic or professional supervisor.
      To pay for education in foreign currency. I think Zemen Bank has the service.
      The timing of the USCE and the exams would be better if you align it to finish everything on September since it is when you apply for matching. Otherwise I don't think it makes a difference.

    • @hakimkirubel
      @hakimkirubel  Před 3 lety

      I am glad The video helped.
      1) IELTS is enough in Europe , if the only missing document is your IELTS some accept the letter of English proficiency from your university, it basically states that the medium of instruction of your study were English. Either ways IELTS is enough if you don't have it and if the application period is already closings you can try with the letter.
      2) no medical students can't apply for masters , you have to graduate and have your medical degree. But in some cases you can directly pursue PhD because medical degree is considered advanced undergraduate degree.
      3 any graduate can apply , you just have to have those documents, if you don't have the degree and others you can still apply with the tempo and make your medschool registrar send your documents to the university you are applying for, this process is really tiresome , time and money consuming but it can work too.
      Almost all academic year starts on September, they accept application 4-5 months prior. Meaning you can apply starting from February to start study on September.
      Good luck😊

      It depends on the program you apply to , they choice comes before the acceptance. When you choose you see the medium of instruction, duration of study , carrier opportunities, entry requirements and the like.
