The SE has access to the Atlantic Ocean through various waterways and this one is the closest. This Azumini river joins the Imo river to drain into the Atlantic after passing Opobo.
Our haters in Nigeria think they control the world and hence can determine whatever will happen in our land but they don't know that there are sane and fair organizations who control the affairs of the world. If Bolivia can have a Seaport through a very lengthy waterway that crossed through two countries before getting to them, is it this River which is less than 15 nautical miles from the Atlantic to Abia state that will be a problem? They have simply been blinded by hate.

I appreciate your documentary about the geographical potentials we're endowed with in South East and Igbo speaking kins territoires in neighbouring States in Nigeria.
Note, those who chose to generalise anti Igbo sentiments nation wide ; will never talk in positive themes about us. The politics of isolating Igbos and demonising them consequently after Nigeria/Biafra war, was planned and the economic strangulation, at the military councils, with British advicers. Hence, Buhari's interview when he revealed - "no access to the Sea. Igbo States are A DOT IN A CIRCLE ". A President of Nigeria, while speaking to journalistes and watched around the globe ? He never regreted or retracted nor apologised to the people he hated with passion. Apartheid wasn't only in Southern Africa countries by whites. Igbos have water ways, lets transforme as outlet to the world. Ignore critics. Innosons Motor Vehicules today is like a mountain. Humains go to see mountains not the opposite. The world knows Nnewi for her auto industries and Anambra State. Just do it !

Igboland which comprises all our people both in the SE, NC and SS doesn't have any stress about having the coast at the Atlantic. This is why they've been fighting to ensure that our people in the SS deny that they are Igbos. We must continue to speak sense to our people and encourage them to think about our collective welfare. A divided Igboland only benefits our enemies who are currently feeding fat on the natural resources in our land while polluting it. Today, most of our people in Rivers state are not benefiting anything from the resources in their land because they've been cut away and reduced to minorities while our collective enemies are milking their land. A good number of our people there have started to see the trick that was played on them hence they are supporting this unify Igbos project.

Nice 👍 one, brother. With few billion dollars, a Japanese, Chinese or German dredging company can turn this perennial waterway to become like the Elbe river which houses the all important Germany's Port of Hamburg. Obete to Ikwuriator East is large enough for a an efficient Seaport. It can be deepened & widened to allow Suezmax 🚢 to sail thru. If it needs more water, science and technology can do this thru the Niger River as the feeder. It's all about determination and dedication. The Suez, the Panama, the Kiel are all artificial canals.

without a doubt there is access to the sea in Port Harcourt. Port Harcourt is Igbo land and if those people there say they are not Igbo, the land they live on is igboland. Benin territories have never included any part of Igboland. When the day comes that Nigeria divides, Port Harcourt will revert to the original owner and that is it.

You cannot have absolute control over what you don't own,the major reason why a lot of people of Igbo extraction are dispersed across the country is this very reason especially the traders, the need for viable sea ports within igboland will decrease the need for exodus to other lands expect for trade, unless there would be a rehashing of the same treatment we are currently getting while we put a lot of energy and time in developing the areas around ports and that effort would be rubbished and not appreciated, also viable ports also aid efficient exports of goods and services and provides jobs and extra revenue for the state govts,so for these reasons I think it is pertinent to look into dredging and establishing of proper sea ports .just my opinion though.
