With all the sea shantys in the news recently I started searching based on the top ten sea shantys. This was in the list and I found your video, I've now brought the song and play it on repeat over and over! It's very well put together well done!
1:48 just WOW that sound, amazing!!!
I remember the first time I listened to you in Cork almost 5 years ago. It was immediately love.
Sheer class
My forefathers sailed from Peterheid...chasing the whale...I remember when I was young seeing the open mouth of the whales cemented on the walls...over the queenie...
I love this music. Saw you live in Knoops Park Bremen. 5 candles, 3000 people and you in front of us and goosebumps behind us...
Now you are ufficially one of my favourite group absolutely
Great song! Thanks for this!
I think this is the best version. Other versions are good but this is more dynamic.
I think the most dynamic version is by the Captain's Beard :)

Fantastic! I was looking for an acapella with a female singing this. Would you be able to provide me an acapella to this? Amateur music producer here who wants to make something awesome out of this. (not that i'll be able to top this tho)
That's was well done. Still love TLJs better by this was good instrumentally. Good job guys.
is this played in dadgad ?
Is this english?
Niamh is Irish and I know her and her father from Caherline
no the song is from peter head in aberdeenshire
I believe the song is Irish - the other time I hear the song, it was sung by Gaelic Storm, an Irish based folk group.
The Scottish group The Corries did this song in the '60's
It's Scottish about the British whaling fleets (much of which was Scottish ) and Peterhead was a Scottish port involved the industry. The Diamond was (I think) part of the Aberdeen Fleet but could have been sailing from Peterhead which is just about 30 miles to the North of Aberdeen
