@@fandyus4125 lol Well at times they're multicoloured, so working on the (unproven) assumption that he's merely human, I'd say he sometimes paints them.
The artist makes the simple spectacular: The Longest Johns turn a studio into an aquarium and us into fishes (equipped with appropriate fish-eyes), JD's shed wall into a comedy theatre, the Tyndale monument into Mount Rushmore, a forest into a cathedral, a car into a stage, a field of flowers into an ocean, cardboard boxes into a ship, a veranda into a deck, their own studio into a galley, the sheddy into a hold, and the local harbour into cold Greenland. I love your magic, Johns!
I don't know why, but it makes me laugh every time they cut to Dave not doing anything but just sort of vibing. It's like he's the one kid who doesn't say anything during the class presentation, he just stands up there with the rest of his group and nods.

Y'know, at first I didn't care for this song when I heard it on the album. I mean, I didn't hate it, but I didn't especially like it either. But the more I listened to it, the more it grew on me, and now it's definitely one of my favorites. The last verse where the instruments go silent and everyone's singing in unison gets me good, in a way that it wouldn't if the whole song were a capella like that.
I cannot tell you the elation I feel every time I'm listening to a playlist and I hear 0:01 I'm never not in the mood to listen to this song.

I spend 3 whole days singing songs like this one with friends, for fun ('cause we are not really good singers lmao), and honestly, it is one of the most satisfying thing to do! You guys must really enjoy your life x)

I recorded this song back about ‘95 shortly after I moved to Nashville. Wish I could find the tape. Due to a glitch, Davis Strait came out Faithis Strait. Sang my own harmony, played guitar in DADGAD. I like their version better.
As A Sailor, True Sailor, Keeping Up The Sailing Tradition Is Too Important. With Media Shattering The Great Culture, There's Little Media I Still Enjoy. Most Of It Is Disgraceful. Not This Crew. The Longest Johns Are One Of The Few Groups That Keeps Me Proud To Be A Sailor. Makes me Proud Not To Run With Engines. They're One Of The Last Remaining Symbols Of The Great Culture That's Been Disgraced By Media. Honestly, All Media And Music Inspired By Sailing Should Look To Them. There's A Chance Sailing Culture Could Still Survive, At Least A Little.
