  • What’s happening in this Backdraft movie clip?
While inspecting the burning floors, Steven takes the opportunity to train Tim (Jason Gedrick from Murder One) on breaking doors down with their axes. Tim forgets to check one of the doors for heat and is blown back by a blast of fire when he breaks it open. Another blast sets him on fire. By the time the rest of the company comes in with hoses, Tim is horrifically burned and taken away in an ambulance. At the hospital, Brian and Steven get into a fight when Brian suggests his brother's need for heroics caused Tim's injuries.

    What’s the movie Backdraft about?
When a spate of fires occurs, two Chicago Firefighter brothers who don’t get along really well, are forced to work together. Stephen (Kurt Russell from The Thing and Furious 7) and Brian McCaffrey (William Baldwin from Flatliners and Silver) will do anything they can to stop the arsonist.

IN my opinion Ron Howard really only made 3 great movies: Willow, Backdraft and Rush. The rest has been made for teevee crap. I was really hoping he could direct a Star Wars movie someday but the way Solo turned out was just more made for teevee crap.

Sorry... but this just wasn't a very good movie...it simply had a lot of dramatic special effects that helped paper over a weak script and actors that were phoning it in.
Sutherland and Deniro were the only actors doing anything skillful/engaging.
    It's a C+ level film at best.

My problem with this film has always been Ron Howard's directing. It's just pretentious as hell and makes it hard to take seriously. I really loved it as a kid and i still think the acting is top notch, but it just goes too far with the hero mythology stuff. And i come from a family of fireman. I want to like it more but can't.
