Where I live, every appointment or hospital visit, they’d make up a reason to make my husband leave and make sure I felt safe at home. After I gave birth, they did the same and asked if I was scared or felt unsafe in my home. At the time I was baffled. My husband is the sweetest and most gentle human I’ve ever met. He cries at Disney movies. I originally felt insulted at what they were insinuating because I’ve been in a DV relationship before. Now, I get why they always asked. It wasn’t about a weird snap judgment of his character, it was a precaution because of these statistics. I already loved my experience with that hospital but now I love them even more. They were looking out for me and I never even realized it. I hope everything hospital starts doing this.

this case reminded me of something similar that happened in Greece a few years ago... there was a pilot who one night called the police crying bc burglars had broken in his house and he was worried about his wife and daughter that were on the second floor.. he was found tied up on the first floor and he claimed he called the police using his nose. His wife was found murdered and their daughter was sleeping next to her body. Everyone was grieving with him, we were so moved by what had happened to this guy's family. Turned out he was the one who had killed his wife and their dog and had staged a whole burglary. He even hid 2k euros to make it look like someone took them and he made a few failed attempts while calling the police on purpose to make it look he was struggling to use the phone bc he was tied up. The police arrested him during the wife's memorial where he was crying with his parents-in-law and his child in his arms. Her name was Caroline and he said he killed her bc she wanted a divorce...... When I was pregnant with my daughter, my own father has beaten me very badly and even kicked me multiple times in my stomach, crying to “get rid” of the child because I wasn’t married to my boyfriend… then I walked home, beaten and barely able to move to my boyfriend… who has only asked me “what have you done to piss him off so much!”… he also started to secretly drug me with strong codeine based medication (placed it in my food and drink multiple times) also trying to get rid of this child…. This was all over 5 years ago, I since has started a new life, far away from my dad and ex, building a new life steadily with my new partner and my 4 years old happy, healthy, strong and smart daughter who has just started her first school year this September.
Ladies just remember: be careful whom you trust and be prepared to jump the boat on the first sign of red flags. It’s scary and hard, but handling life and hardships alone is better than being abused or killed. And always put your child’s safety and health first…

But I’m so insanely glad that this case was able to get more publicity, because Natalie sounded absolutely amazing and her family are such kind and lovely people.
My friend Odhran who lives around the corner from Natalie also passed away tragically on the 17th of December 2022. Odhrans parents and Natalie’s parents have become really close, supporting each other through their shared pain. I met Natalie’s parents when we had a celebration for odhrans birthday, and they said “the two of them are in paradise now, they are in a beautiful place now”. I thought this was so beautiful for them to say. Natalie’s parents were so brave and spoke so openly about her and what happened, and they were so kind and friendly through all of the pain they must have been feeling. You could tell how loving their family is and how amazing and independent Natalie was.

No one should get murdered for cheating. That being said, I promise there were red flags about this man before she told him she was pregnant, they didn't live together, they weren't married, she literally barely knew him, a self described "man child". Secondly, she should've tried to break things off before talking to an ex. When you are pregnant with another man's child. Cause you know most men would think, is that kid even mine? How long has this been going on? He will rot in prison as he should and then he will burn in Hell. There's a lot more at play about this and it's so reckless to play with someone's emotions like that while pregnant. Whatever he saw on her phone def sent him over the edge. I'm not defending the motherfucker either. Its just bullshit the way shes being portrayed just because shes a woMAN lol Women are not treated any worse than men. They're treated better in these first world countries, than literally anywhere else. You can't even imagine what they do to women in poor countries. I love the way she humanises the victims. In a lot of true crime videos, you feel detached from the victims and the way it's described is so "matter-of-fact" that you just don't "feel" _too_ much for them. But with her channel and also Eleanor Neale's channel for example, they really describe the victim's lives and personalities and dreams and hobbies and it really makes you connect with the person. It's no longer "just another case", instead you really FEEL the horror and the deep-sinking reality of what occurred when their lives are taken away. You feel like they could've easily been part of your life or somebody you knew, and it shatters you more, plus it doesn't glorify the perpetrator, instead it makes you angrily want justice for the victim 10x more. I love the way they portray the cases, better than any documentary I've watched as well.

So, imho they either argued a lot but pretended everything was fine to everyone else, or he doubted he was the father & thought the baby was his from his ex (btw it was his baby, not the ex's), or he wanted to get revenge for something she did or said that we don't know about. There's a lot of reasons, but either way, *none* of them are right or justifiable. He could have easily left her and asked for a paternity test. But in my opinion, from the sounds of it he's probably bitter she had such a loving family and wanted to take that away from her, by ending her life.

Wow.. This episode hits me different...
I had a Partner for 9 Years before we both agreed to make a baby that we always wanted. The Time seemed right.
Soon after that, i got pregnant. But everything in my Relationship changed. My Partner started to be Physical. 9 Years he never layd a Hand on me - ofc we had fights before , like every couple has, but nothing like this.
He told me constantly how it was my fault bcs of my hormones and that i am the crazy one etc... After my Baby got born, it went worse and worse.
There was one night where i thought he would kill me - infront of my child.
After that i decidet to leave him. Best decision of my life!
To this day i dont know what happend. I asked myself all these years what went wrong. Didnt ever get an answer - not sure if i ever will. But your explanation showed me that it looks like more people are affected by that then just me. For whatever reason.
To everybody - no matter how long you where in a relationship - no matter if you are Married - if your Male Partner starts to get like that while you are pregnant, let me tell you:
It will not stop once you have the Baby, nor will it stay like this. Its not your fault - no matter what your partner is telling you. And it will get worse. So Leave, as soon as you can and tell people in your Life. I know the thought of beeing a single mother is scary - it scared the shit out of me too.
But you can do this! And you can do it so much better alone then with an abusive Partner.
    Stay safe

This is a tragedy that is experienced so much and goes unheard. Myself having been very close to reaching that statistic of murdered while pregnant by my at the time bf.
He was already abusive. For years. He had relocated me far from family & friends. I found out I was pregnant and I was terrified to tell him bc I got the exact reaction I expected.
The abuse ramped up. The demands increased. I was on bedrest from day one basically. As much as he didn’t want to be a dad, he refused to let me just leave him and that I’d never bother him for any coparenting needs. But he much rather have the control. Told me if I left him he would see id never have custody or he’d kill me. He’s tried multiple times to take her but thank god the judge knew better.
Violence against women must stop. Men who abuse women should be held at a much higher charge. It should be at least doubled when the woman is pregnant.
I want to fight and fight and fight until change is made.
My child is now 6. We’re living safe and happy together. But despite all he’s done … he still get weekends with her that leave me in paralyzed fear until she returns.
I’ve been forced to share my child with a maniac narcissist with severe control issues and abusive history. Because the courts somehow find that better for the child. It’s something I can’t accept.
For those of us who make it out the relationship alive, it doesn’t mean it’s over. It doesn’t mean the trauma goes away. Healing is a process I have to start over every day bc ptsd won’t let me sleep The fact I have pure fear bc the court forces children to be in the career of domestic abusers, with history of drug use and untreated psychological disorders is unacceptable.
I ask you all for support for these women and children. Do what you can. At the very least raises the voices of those fighting for activism and give your empathy. There’s never enough support for victims like this case and their families. Demand justice !

My drive either way is an hour and a half, which is conveniently the average length of your episodes 🤭 Your passion for these stories is incredible and I can always hear how deeply you felt for the victims. You have gotten me through this last semester of school, truly!! I love that I get see physical evidence now, it really was emphasizes the impact of these cases. Thank you for everything Stephanie 💕

bringing up the point that if you listen to stories like this that you should try to make a change is so so important. i love that this channel discusses that and gives places to donate to, but also that its so victim focused. not a lot of pages are like that at all. sending all the love and healing to Natalie's family and anyone going through something similar.

I love you content. You're one of the few "true crime" channels i don't find to be super unethical. So it really bums me out that you're endorsing better help. I'm really happy you've had a good experience with them but they are known for shady practices and have done real harm to voulerable people reaching out for help. I work in the mental health field and worry that better help often does more harm than good along with discouraging people from getting help in the future. 😢

They feel like the woman is less likely to leave them now that they’re tied together through a child, so they drop whatever mask they had up and let their real selves out. That’s in the case of relationships, outside of that I have no idea but it’d be interesting to find out

💛thank you as a DV survivor I can attest that the violence started in one of my relationships when I was diagnosed with cancer the first time round because I was not able to call talk or go out or do the normal things we did my back was fractured due to my paying him not enough attention and his words " I NEVER PUT HIM FIRST !" a injury I still live with as a ER trauma nurse and army medic it can happen to anyone not just women but a large figure does I can also say yes to the increase in violence to pregnant women as I treat them in my hospital. not at the moment as I am fighting my second battle with cancer. But i am single and grieving natalie and Dean deserved the world and more. If guilty i refuse to use his name vile human in prison he will not have a great time as many inmates find this crime unacceptable. 💛

Listening to this case, I remembered an open case in Chile, Antonia Barra and her attacker Martin Pradenas. The amount of rage this chilean case makes me feel is so big, and the victim suffered so much and was blamed many times for what happened to her... so sad. I wish you could cover it. I can help with translations, since I am a chilean citizen myself.

I’ve heard of this case in one of those collection of murder story videos, so I never knew the depth of how utterly tragic this story was. It’s so incredibly disgusting to know such a full-hearted woman with such a wonderful family that loved her so fiercely was taken, along with her unborn son, by someone who was only in it for such a short amount of time. It’s so despicable that this man seems to be wholly uninterested in the path that was set for him and instead of just stepping away from it or saying it was too much (because clearly his life wasn’t all sunshine and roses) he decided to make it worse. May the victims and their family find peace.

We wanted to see if our dog would do anything so hubby "threw me around" and she actually bit him! Even though he's her favorite parent. The next week we attempted the reverse and no matter how many times I "threw him around" she didn't move, she complained loudly but she didn't lift a paw. Maybe it's because I'm the one who trained her or maybe she's just smart enough to know I literally couldn't win the fight if I tried.

I recently discovered you and I can't stop watching. You are now added to my daily rotation of favorite true crime youtubers. The ending of this video really hit home for me though. My son's dad didn't show violent behavior towards me until I was pregnant and that's when I truly opened my eyes. It got to the point where I was hiding in the bedroom for days while the house was filled to the max with his relatives/friends because he didn't want them to see me pregnant with a black eye, not even allowed to go to the restroom which is quite hard for someone with a baby pushing on their bladder. I never knew his reasoning (not that I would've excused it) and you helped me understand where things could've taken a turn for the worse even though our baby was planned. It's absolutely appalling what some people are capable of doing. May Natalie and that precious baby rest in peace.

Told my friends this case today and he said he knew Steven but they were never friends. He just hung out with ppl who Steven also hung out with. One of his friends hated Steven so much that he even set up a group chat composed of ppl who also hate Steven. And they would be leaving hate comments on Steven’s videos on CZcams. He said Steven was a freak and he’s even controlling around friends. He dated another girl before Natalie and he was quite abusive towards her both verbally and physically, which led to her breaking up with him in the end. So he hadn’t heard anything about Steven for 5 yrs until one day one of friends in England suddenly rang him in jan this year, telling him that Steven was arrested for murdering his girlfriend.
