There’s some lessons to learn here. One particular lesson is the destination, Greenland. It’s very remote and isolated. Always take excursions in places like this that are through the cruise line. It’s safer and so easy to get refunds if things happen. If you must go third party, stick with a well known brand that’s got a good reputation. Travel is so popular these days, it attracts scammers like flies to honey. They can’t resist ripping off tourists.

One thing we are in the habit of doing is taking screenshots of everything regarding the cruise from the original advertised price to lower prices etc. etc. etc.… At least then you have some proof but who knows if proof would've even helped in this situation

Thank you Chris good information . YES sound like a scam to me that's why I do very few 3rd party excursions plus rather be safe and get back to the ship and not left behind if something does happen.

Always book cruise line excursions. More expensive but less stress

I’ve never heard of Sandra O’Leery, but yeah, definitely a scam. This is just one of the many reasons I don’t see myself ever booking a 3rd party excursion.

I have cruised on Carnival 7 times, with number 8 already booked.. The excursions you book with the cruise line have a price guaranty, they are endorsed by the cruise line, and if conditions are unsafe, they give you a full refund.. It's just not worth the numerous risks involved even if you were to save a few dollars, it only takes one time for that to be wiped out. Similar to the trip insurance, not taking it is not worth the risk, if you ever use it, it will pay for itself ten times over.

Unless its a land vacation, Im never booking a 3rd party excursion. I have a low risk tolerance. I'll stick with the cruiseline's excursions. The $ money saved does not outweigh the consequences and anxiety associated with a 3rd party excursion. If I really want to see something and the cruiseline doesn't offer an excursion, I will just fly there.

These people who are scammed out their excursion money should find out where that lady lives and show up at her front door. They'll get that money. lol
