    Your vids on the La Pavoni are right on time , I just walked out of a shop here in Texas with a post mil (2001 ) in gorgeous condition just about mint ,for $150 US . Tested the heater in the store . Got it home and tested further and it works fine, very impressed with the steaming ability of this little machine , came across your vids and have rebuild kit on the way , super easy to do , in the meantime heating element being soaked to descale ....

    I have owned mine since 1996 and still looks and works like new. I’ve replaced some gaskets over the years but that’s about it.

    Fantastic tutorial. Thank you. BTW 12'40" the original portafilter handle and basket combo are actually loose.

      Thank you. Yes, it was a very strange fitment issue there.

    Thanks for the video. I just got a pre-millennium Professional. The previous owner said that he did the seals and it seems to be working well but I want to be ready.
    Torx is the correct term for that tool.

      Ah nice! They are a great little machine. I would order a kit if I was you and have it ready to go. They are quite cheap and it can't hurt to make sure it's perfect.

    Good vid - makes sense not to skimp on certain parts. Keen to see how this is put back together.

    FYI I have a Professional Copper/Brass I purchased new in 2009, and my filter basket just sits loosely like yours. Additionally, there is no groove in the handle to add a spring; it's exceedingly annoying to use, but apparently some models both pre-millenium and millenium come like this. So unless there are other indicators, it may not be a knock off group handle.

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  Před rokem +1

      Oh I had never seen one like this before... the handle also looks & feels slightly different to the ones I have seen before. Possibly just an older version. My new one has turned up ready for the next video.. and I have a REALLY cool surprise to show everyone. So stay tuned for that!

    2002? That's not old by la pavoni standards! I currently have a 1971 on my work bench and regularly have machines from the 80's and 90's still in daily use !!

    From someone who's bought a used La Pavoni and is dreading the day it stops bewing and needs servicing, you've taken my worries down a couple pegs. Looking forward to the next video!
    I gotta ask, since you keep mentioning its cheap price, how much did you pay for it?

      @mitchdoescoffee  Před rokem +1

      I'm so glad i could help, The assembly should be happening VERY soon, so stay tuned for that.
      I'll be keeping those cards close to my chest for now as there will be another video in the future to discuss a complete breakdown of cost etc.

    Hi, Mitch. Thanks for the great video! I see some of these are wired for 220 and some for 110. Do you know if the heating element is actually a different version, or just wired differently, or...?
    Thanks for the time!!

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I believe it is a different element, I would reach out to a local machine technician to find out fornsure though.

      I haven't used these guys personally, but their website looks quite user friendly & they seem to have a good understanding of the product.

    Where did you order the o-rings from? I'm considering coffee sensor but the shipping from Europe is kinda expensive. I live just north of you in Singapore.

      I always buy from here. Not sure if they send international. If they don't, hit me up on instagram and I'll see what I can do for you.

    How much can you buy for a second hand Pavoni europiccola which needs the same servicing as the one in the video?

    • @mitchdoescoffee
      @mitchdoescoffee  Před rokem

      I have seen them as cheap as $600. With about $200 spent, you could bring one back to life if there isn't too much damage.
