Picasso: Your art is bad.
Bob Ross: Your art is sad.
More like Picasso: Your art is boring/too happy
@@masterspark9880 repetitive
Which is worse?
I don't care if Picasso was from Spain it is undebatable that his art was horrible
@@juancarlosdegoya2757 depends on what you consider art. Some people think his art is terrible, and others think it’s great. Art is very subjective in its beauty/interpretation
Fun fact: Bob Ross received thousands of letters a day and read them all, and he loved his fans so much that when his regular writers stopped writing, he wrote them back to see how they were doing. A truly wholesome man who was taken from us too soon
That's a hell of a man.
I doubt he could read thousands of letters a day, otherwise he would spend all day, every day, reading (without time to sleep). Still I don't doubt he made the effort to read a few.
Fun fact in the military he was actually a very loud and angry drill sergeant type, he changed his voice because he didn't like being that way
@@AeneasGemini Interesting how people could be so different than they seem.
He was also a drill sergeant and he promised to never raise his voice after that
@@AeneasGemini he was a drill instructor. It was his job to be like that
“Please write your entire name, so you can sign this paper”
Pablo: *sighs*
🤣
Oh shit 😂😂🤣🤣🤘
and if you could sign here here and here
His full name is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso
I really felt that
Bob Ross would be the first to tell you his paintings were not “fine art”. He had a method that allowed ANYONE to paint realistic landscapes and he wanted to share his technique and sell some paint on the side. He WAS an amazingly kindhearted dude, and he didn’t have a big ego at all. Super humble guy was good ole Ross.
They may not be "fine art", but they are certainly incredible. His paintings are not something many people can paint, with a few strokes he can make pretty realistic and detailed "bushes and sticks". and it's even more impressing that he basically self-taught and developed such techniques by himself. He was an artistic genius.
Wet on wet is a hundreds of years old honored technique. I don't know what you would call "fine art" but I think his work is. Art makes you feel some emotion when you experience it. If you don't experience anything while watching Bob paint that is fine but you can't objectively say it isn't art of the highest caliber.
@@azaria_phd "His paintings are not something many people can paint" Uh...Yes they are. That's the entire point of his show and technique.
@@hughmann9568 "you can't objectively say it isn't art of the highest caliber." Nobody did though so why are you just being a fucking contrarian to an imaginary opponent...
I'd even go so far as to say that watching Bob Ross teach how to paint is a revolutionary form of performance art.
"I don't hate people. I don't have that kind of time."

@@SitckmanWeegee625 And his technique will make your mistress weep
@@Chazcam_Gamingput her to sleep, elbow drop her dreams
Honestly it’s so fascinating how they made the verses so drastically different in terms of the feeling of each artist. Like with Picasso his raps were more rhythmic and on set beats where as with Bob his raps were more flowy and looser and it really reflects each artist beautifully. This is why I love erb so much, they put so much minute detail into every rap battle and you can come back hundreds of times and find something new every time.
Also on the TV, you can see channels of other rap battles they already did
This is why it was epic. :)
ERB if you ever lack inspiration, do get back to this.
Thank you. I think that is one reason I like these so much because everything fits perfectly even the music
I came back after learning about Picasso dachshund was named Lump. Yep. He’s in the video
Lets be honest, everyone here has to admit that Pablo Picasso rapping his own name was cool.
Edit: After seeing a few negative (or satirical) comments about what I said, I'm not saying Picasso won. I just really thought it was so cool to rap his long name like that.

"Bob's dropping bombs like guernica", "my techniques like I'll make your mistress weep" FYI guernica and weeping mistress both were the works of Pablo Picasso. Clever writing
I just found out about Guernica . I originally thought the mistress weeping thing was referring to his actual mistresses...I have a lot to learn
That guernica like was the bomb
I’m sorry
@@jaymillymills It is about his mistresses. It's a double entendre.
I love it, however it is immediately overtaken by the Bob Ross elbow drop which i still can't quite place the meaning and that makes it even funnier to me.
@@RJP-Gaming It's a reference to a Picasso painting called the dream
Fun fact I learned in an art class once: (with his claim that Bob Ross ripped off his mentor) Picasso had a reputation among his colleagues for taking their ideas and using those as heavy inspiration for his own art. Deserved or not, his fellow artists started covering their works, locking their doors, and the like whenever they heard Picasso was in the vicinity.
Honestly, that wouldn't be surprising. Picasso was a horrible horrible man. He destroyed the life of the people around him.

@trikkiclips5083 to add on to what the other person said, he literally threatened to kill his girlfriends and would hold them over ledges just to make them compliant with the rest of his abuse. He put out cigarettes on women. He’s quoted saying that making his art requires completely breaking a woman, like she’s a material for his work and nothing more. I liked just because of this joke. Well played
Bo Dog at 1:15 the Bob on the very left looks like he saw a double rainbow while high
Even with the swearing and double entendre with the little doxin it still somehow comes off as wholesome-ish.
Bob was so gentle because he was a drill instructor and after he left the military he decided he never wanted to yell at anyone ever again.
All the dislikes are people who made happy little accidents by pressing the wrong button
They should have been painting happy little bushes instead.

Picasso's work took 2 days to make and looks like it took 30 minutes.
Yeah... Bob Ross won.
Art shouldn't be realistic, message is more important since we got the camera, that's exactly what Impresionism was trying to say,Picaso sold the idea of time as an aspect in art and he succeded,Bob did not contribute anything major to art and let's be real Picaso won rapwise.
+Milan Brkic Picasso definitely "won" in real life, but Bob's rap just was better

"My tecnique will make your mistress weep, put her to sleep"
Not enough people realize how HARD this line goes.
Enlighten me, please
Why, did his mistress die in her sleep or something? Either that, or it's a sexual thing >.
This dude did not explain
"Of the several important women in his life, two, Marie-Thèrése Walter, a mistress, and Jacqueline Roque, his second wife, died by suicide."
My guess is that it was in this area that the line was written for the song.
And it also references the "The Weeping Woman", the model for which was Dora Marr, another mistress of Picasso's.
I feel like the writers saw Pablo’s full name and were like, “Hey, you know, we could actually make a whole verse out of this.”
It was a smart line too. Long names signified royalty in Spain, so it was like Pablo was flexing his wealth & power over Bob’s two-word name
Fun fact. The reason bob is so soft spoken in his show is because after he left the military he said he never wanted to raise his voice again. As a master Sargent in the air force, he often had to yell at his men... Such is the job of an NCO.
Less fun fact, Bob Ross only had 9 1/2 fingers. He only had half his index finger on his left hand, lost the other half in a sawing accident. Most people didn't notice because it was hidden under that palette.
Fun fact: if your NCOs are always yelling then they’re just shitty leaders
I would of paid to hear him yell for a few minuets 😅
@@shane7778 wrong. You yell to motivate people not only in combat but in drill and in training.
And if someone is a shit enlisted... hes going to get yelled at. It's called negative reinforcement, and it works for correcting bad behaviors.
@@JerkyMurky It's actually positive punishment; negative reinforcement implies the removal of something to strengthen a behaviour. Positive and negative refer to the addition or removal of a stimulus, respectively. while reinforcement and punishment refer to something liked or disliked, respectively.
bob beat picasso without ever being mean. well done.
You might want to look up what Guernica is. That is by far one of the most cruel and vicious lines in an ERB.
@@DiggingForFacts ouchie
@@DiggingForFacts I just looked it up. That is the best line there, change my mind.
@@LunaDuels Guernica is a town in Basque Spain that was bombed during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. It was the first exercise in terror bombing, deliberately targeting civilians. It caused shock and outrage around the world and affected Picasso to such an extent that he would consent to making a giant painting as a pacifist statement against the horrors of war for the Spanish pavilion during the 1937 World Fair. It's probably on of his best (if not THE best) masterpieces. There's an interesting bit of story to find if you want to go look up more about it (because I'm not going to sit here and transcribe a lecture about art and pacifism in the Interbellum).
The tl:dr version is that Bob Ross is saying: "what I spit defines your concepts of absolute fear and horror."
He was mean, actually. I think that battle could be even more great, if they made Bob REALLY kind. Like Bob would never say about Guernica and ass beating. Still fun and coll, but come on, that's not what Bob was like.
I don’t know why, but every time I watch Bob Ross talking about how he served in the military and then dancing right after always makes me burst out laughing
I have stage 4 cancer and I decided to watch one of my favorite videos.
Made me laugh and cry I needed this.

Imagine being one of the Air Force recruits who had Bob Ross as your drill Sargent and then see him on PBS ten years later 🤪😂
It's because of being a drill sargent so many years that made him want to use a soft chill voice he said it on a re-run episode of the show on pbs. But yeah that must have been thinking "wait there is no way thats my d.s." long pause "darn it that is him..."
now im just imagining him screaming in someones face "are you happy private?!!!". tbh the calm voice would probably be more terrifying than the screaming.

1:12 for those of u who were wondering what Bob meant by Guernica the real story is rly sad
In April, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, the Germans who fought for the Nationalists tested their air force on the town of Guernica. They completely leveled the city and killed almost 6,000 ppl roughly a third of the town’s population and Picasso exposed the horrors of what happened in June, 1937 in a large oil painting with the same name

It's a reference to the fact that Bob Ross never ever got angry after he stopped serving the Air Force
Moony, that, and Picasso was known for being morose, surly, and moody most of the time, with little regard for others; case in point, he once put out his cigarette on his wife’s cheek!
He had his moments where he did lighten up somewhat, but for the most part he was still a moody egoistical prick, albeit one with extraordinary talent.
Then again, extreme personality quirks seem to be par for the course with geniuses.
me too
Physical abuse is not a "personality quirk."
Pablo painting the middle finger, in his later style, is pretty good!
I'd buy a shirt of that!
This is one of the most underrated ERBs
was the second round just pablo saying his name?
Eric Ching
Yep.
Eric Ching yup. But that isn't even all of his full name. It's been shortrned.
My full name is Pestario Rivera Garcia Espinoza Juan Marcos Neruda Salsa Picante Chuleta Chancleta al Salsa Picante Vargas.
In Spanish culture, long names mean that you're from an important family. He's contrasting his long name with "Bob".
Eric Ching Im Actually Latin And Not At All It Means You're From An "Important Family" 😂
"Bob is dropping bombs like it's Guernica"
That was dark
I loved it
But one of the best Picasso works.
oddity3927 and a tragic event
This is one of the best ones, the beat and lyrics are fantastic
The beat was SICK
Did anybody notice the fact that when he flipped through the tv, it was a bunch of other erb battles
oh, so we both watched the same video?
Yea boi
Yeah
We all did
wow thanks a lot, cyber! what could I do without you

The fact that you took the time to type out his full name
one of the best ERB
I never noticed it before but Picaso's eyes are so void of light that they are constantly and clearly visible at all times. like the light is just sucked into them like a black hole
“If I paint something, I don't want to have to explain what it is.”
What about there are no mistakes just happy accidents
What a terrible quote...
Cowboy Patrick I have nothing against Bob Ross, he really seemed like a nice guy, but it's a terrible quote if used in a way Lee Walter here used it to somehow dismiss the abstract in art.
@@morissmor Im pretty sure if he said that, it was said mostly in jest, but it also makes sense for him considering what he painted. Not everyone has to appreciate abstract art in order to be an artist, it's not a litmus test.
@@morissmor Abstract art is a joke.
Bob murdered that beat
His style here is up there with Biggie's
hes a titanium white kinda fellow what do u expect
SheepsGraphics likes to beat the devil out of his enemies
killed it
isis woods he beat the devil out of it
0:17 Well that's a bit extreme, isn't it?
1:01 this part goes so ridiculously hard
Nearly five years and I still don’t understand why Picasso felt the need to state his entire twenty-three word name. It nearly takes up his entire second verse.
Hair of the Dog in Spain it was common that the nobility had longer composed names than the regular people. It still happens nowdays with some old rich families. So he is stating that he is from an higher class than Bob.
Hair of the Dog that’s the point. His name is so long it takes up a verse
The punchline, "Back to you Bob" making fun of Bob's simple name
Hair of the Dog fun fact: he didn't state his entire name. There are a couple of surnames which were left out
Back then in Spain people of importance had long names while common people didn’t
“Always so serious.. I know.. you must be on your blue period”
“My technique will make your mistress weep put her to sleep elbow drop her dreams I go deep”
*Picasso has left the chat*
But then he follows those killer bars with a killer flow:
"And I... keep it mellow, like some cadmium yellow. I'm a bright like titanium white kinda fellow."
The name sequence was awesome - they put the whole 23 words to rhyme and beat, then Back. To. Jou. "Bob"
just pure brilliance
Hey Pablo you just got your happy little ass beat. Best line...
I agree
James Lear Pablo you did great but you blue it
James Lear do you have a sister named Karen?
His face when he said that! 😂
James Lear boba fett got dead pool worse
