I'm a 24 year old from Canada, living in Montreal. I work as a tech consultant and make work vlogs about life as a young professional. I also love to talk about personal finance, fashion, health, and life in general! I’ve missed a lot of “fun” but working throughout college I’ve got so many good job experiences. I’m graduating in May and plan on pursing my MBA next fall. Working full time and being a full time student has not been as hard as I thought but I get no free time to do anything else sadly.
My first year was rough, far away from home at barely 18. My anxiety and depression started to manifest themselves at that time. My second year was also hard, but better and it went uphill from there. I also took five years to complete my bachelors in science.
I'm still in uni but in grad school now and things are much better :D.
My college experience was meh but because my college sucks, but I relate to your lessons, I also spent pretty much since my 3rd semester gathering work experience and all and never went to party or hang or things like that and now I lowkey regret it even though I'm not a party guy I still regret it, I luckily got to know everyone in my major but like the memories are limited just cuz I didn't have those 'adventures' yknow what i mean? I do believe people need to not focus too much on grades and all cuz college is q fune experience that does not repeat because even if you study another major, you'll be older and is harder to socialize cuz there still exist a little that happens,at least that's how I felt my experience so it's goodto enjoy when possibel
I did my first year of business school at JMSB and I hated it, like you said there was no sense of community within the school. I transfered to HEC Montreal and now finished bilingual BBA. Great video tho! Binge watching what your videos. Keep up the good work !

Hey! I have applied for graduate diploma in Biotech and genomics from India. I applied in oct 2021 for sept 2022 intake. Could you tell me when can i expect decision on my admission? Also the deadline is shown to be feb 2021 for admission, does it mean that admission decision would be declared after feb or is it first come fist serve basis?

I definitely relate to so much of what you said. I used to prioritize working and saving money to travel home (to Jamaica) over school & making friends in first and a bit of second year.

I failed my first year at Concordia. I started with online classes. now its mandatory to do online classes and its stressing me out
Living on the loyola campus was definitely both a gift and curse. We had an amazing community and everyone was friends but it took almost an hour to get into the city by bus. Grey nuns had a such a jailhouse kind of vibe, I can't imagine ever living there
an hour?? I thought its was only 20 minutes to get downtown from loyola

Hii, i started college this year and let me tell you i never cried so much in my life. 😂😂 but after listening to your video, i am happy that you and maybe other people experienced what i am experiencing right now. i thought i was the only one finding school hard. this video made me realized that yes its hard right now for school but in the end its all worth it. thank you making this video!!! ps im glad that i found someone who lives in the same city as me and relates with the weather ahaha!!!
For all of those wanting to go to Concordia, go to GREY NUNS RESIDENCE (not Loyola) ! It's a must to fully enjoy the first-year experience!

Sorry if it sounds like a bit of a random question but is there any chance that you recall how hygienic the bathrooms were? I just learned that the residence have a community bathroom or something like that.
They were pretty clean!! It was non gendered communal bathrooms yes

What did you think of Melbourne?
Do you think buying a car (and getting your license) in Montreal as a student is a good idea? And is it overall worth it? I've heard public transport is extremely good there and everything is connected underground but as a person who has lived in the desert and has only used a bus for public transport I am very used to cars. ( Greetings from Dubai btw. )
Hey fellow concordian here. You don't really need a car in Mtl tbh. The city has a great metro system. Unless you live very far which is highly unlikely having a car really does not help. Considering the campus is downtown, there is parking fee and other factors to consider. Hope it helps
@@izynat Thank you! My mom offered to pay 50% for a car if I move there but I guess I'll try the metro before considering the car.
Someone told me that University is less intense than college/Cegep, because the school assumes that all students need and have jobs to pay for their education.

From what I get from this, you went to University for experience the partying life and not to get an Education.
I think most people go into University not knowing what they really want to do in life.

you will for sure make friends! concordia is such an internal school. As for scholarships & class difficulty, it totally depends.. sadly not something I can help with

Priya I'm planning to do the MBA for Fall 2022. After I talked to John Molson about the program, I think it is more like MBA + CFA. Which I can take the CFA on my own while paying a much lower tuition. If you care about ROI this is something you should consider.

Hi Zoe, Thank you for the vid. My daughter is considering Concordia. Do you think a residence on the Loyola campus would allow for more opportunities to meet people? It seems to be more of the traditional college campus feel. Based on her major I think most of her classes would be at the Loyola campus.
