No one knows for sure if this is a pyramid. One thing is certain, you came unprepared and with your hidden doubts. First of all, Semir Osmanagić is a scientist with degrees from prestigious American universities. He became a businessman only by starting the archaeological park of the Bosnian Pyramids.
The only way to solve this mystery is the scientific method, not anyone's gut feeling whether or not they believe in the existence of paramids.
We will see I guess. I enjoyed visiting and that's good enough for me
No, he is not scientist, and don't have degree in any American university. Also you can see he has degree in economics and doctorate in political science, and economics are true reason of this scam. It is a scam and you know it.
It simply issen't a pyramid and what you're saying is the opposite from the truth , he was a wealthy bussinesman who has a love for pseudo-science(fiction) and only got a degree later to come over like a scientist, that degree being sociology so in no way even connected to the subject
I loved that you went up the hardest path with Honeybun and then found an easier path down and could smile about it - great episode Matthew.
If I can't smile about it then I'm doomed
Yesland: is this your mountain ?
Dog: bark !
Cats, Honeybun, Beer & Bar … this has it all…! Really enjoyed this one mate. 🐕 🚶🏼♂️ ⛰️
Thank you so much for watching and for the support! It was a good trip that I'm really glad I managed to make happen
Another ace video! My legs were burning just watching you :) and Honeybun was such a good helper! Thank you again for sharing your journeys
Thank YOU for coming along for the journey! I always appreciate it
The border corgi was really cute. This is a literal pyramid scheme if there ever was one 😂 Edit: Honeybun is second best doggo after Yaya.
Haha, very much so.
So you didn't even go inside lol?
My gut feeling is originally the mountain looked pyramid like, so they cut the rock away in places to make it more pyramid shaped and precise. I thought they had excavated pre cut tunnels inside which you could visit at one time!
I know this means nothing coming from a stranger, but da** if I'm not proud of you for finishing that hike! I think the viewers could feel your pride and joy through the video.
Of course, Honey Bun sure helped
Thank you so much, that does mean a lot to me. And yeah, the canine moral support helped for sure
Since I get to post this before Paula, Honeybun is the best sidekick you've had on one of these videos. :p Definitely think some wood crafter needs to make you a good walking stick that would break into pieces like a pool cue so you could pack it easily. You've been doing a lot of these in the off seasons, but they're good for dealing with snakes and spiders. And as the other poster noted, pyramid shapes make a lot of sense. Pyramids? Not really. But it's fun to believe, and I'm sure that country needs all the tourist dollars they can get.
Honeybun is the S tier companion so far. We all know it.
As a geologist, I'd love to get a chunk of that "geopolymer". Find out what it actually is.
Yeah, my guess is 'normal rock' but who knows...
Your guess? I mean, I was there with Dr. Sam and he was talking 2h about the site, material, analysis they made in institutes across the world, age, etc...And here I'm watching you walking alone through the site. How's that even possible? At what time you visited the site? Was it very, very early so the workers were still asleep?@@YesLandTravel
14/10 for Honeybun, 10/10 for effort, 2/10 for the view. Hopefully the weather will start playing in your favour at some point Matthew.
Honeybun really made the whole day
Idk why you never get to the actual pyramid with the tunnels my friend!!!
You have been everywhere but not at the place where you described in your video clip!!
I was on the Pyramid for the whole video. It's massive.
Where are Bosnian environmental organizations and nature conservation organizations, this Bosnian businessman is damaging biodiversity with his excavations?
Hi Matthew, really enjoyed this video of Visoko Bosnia. I always enjoyed the Great Pyramid and enjoyed learning the story behind the Great Pyramid of Bosnia. It was nice that you had Honey Bun along with you on your hike climbing it. Glad you showed her at the end and that she made it back home. It is amazing that you ran into her again. With your connection with animals you kind of remind me of the Dog Whisperer. I think you made Honey Bun's day and she made yours in return. Onwards and upwards till next time Matthew.
Yeah, thank you for this. I hope you're right, me and honeybun had a wonderful little time and that was pretty special. Thank you for the support Ben.
@@YesLandTravelabsolutely loved that part as well and it was actually the thing that kept me watching. There's nothing more wholesome than a hike with a dog as a companion and the fact that she tagged along spontaneously made it even better.
On another note...Dogs who are neglected, rarely walked and exercised and left mostly to their own outside will sometimes look for people to walk with to give them legitimacy for being there. Dogs by themselves are always looked at and treated differently than when they are with someone. In which case, people barely look twice. Dogs know this, and I have had several different dogs do the same thing to me over the years. Oddly, it's mostly female dogs too. Cheers!
I feel in love with that dog it has to be said, I really hope that they have a good life but who knows. We had a great hike together though and honestly it made the whole trip so much better.
Biscuit and beer sounds like a winning combo
It could have been a lot worse.
Above all, you had the dog following you up the hard path.
I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure, an interesting place that I didn't know about before. I was happy to see that you made it the top. You had a great adventure companion in local resident Honeybun.
It was good to have a success in the books with this one, thank you for the support!
Aww, Honeybun was such great company. Is it YesLand if there aren't hills to climb? Really cool video, I've never heard of the pyramid so that was fun to learn about.
Honeybun made the whole journey worth it!
if you look around utah and wyoming on google maps there are thousands of pyramidal structures made of just that: clay, it tends to erode in that triangular shape but usually against a slope, which this passes that check too just clearly on a much larger scale. The San Rafael reef is mind blowing.
Geopolymer can been made both naturally or via a human made process. Its basically just rock that formed into a cavity.
Here is where it get somewhat controversial. While human mad geopolymer can be made in pretty much any angle, somewhat similar to concrete, for nature made it pretty much have to be totally Flatt. The issue is that its hard to believe that post industrial human would have the capacity to make it, and.. its clearly not flat.
Well, there is a pretty simple explanation. It was formed flat than raised at a angle by geological effects. This is not only common, but actually typical. What is uncommon here is that its on at least 2 sides if not more, and it is at a very steep angle.
Now the following parts is just pure guesswork from my side, so take it with a hand full of salt. The flatt sheet have been raised up at a very steep angle, then when it was at the steepest angle some part broke of and fell down on the other side, then 100 milion year or so later, there came humans and touch up the edges over a period that can have been a large number of generations.
While its kind of sort of pyramid shape, 3.. or.. well more like 2½ of the sides are very pyramid like, the inclination of the sides are all different, this makes it a bit asymmetrical that in turn make the alignment a bit... lets say subjective to calculate. I could calculate it to be absolutely north-south if i want to, just selecting the right measuring point, but i could also calculate it to be 10 degree of (that would be pretty bad).
Here is where i get kind of boring. With my guess in mind, the pyramid was made in sort of 3 steps. 1: geological. 2: humans doing caves 3: edge touch-up.
If the hill was made the way i guessed, there i bound to be loads of voids in the hill. Those could be used for living habitats for early humans. The ice age was never that far south. The human inhabited caves can very well be 12000 year old and the edge touch up done at a later date, like really a lot later. Its really hard to say. I would say its done fairly recently (say in the order of a few hundred years) considering the corners is still that sharp. What we can say for sure its that it was not done the last couple of decades or possibly even century due to the simple fact we have quite old areal photos of the pyramid.
So that would be sort of a non magical explination
The Ancient Medieval Structure and the Roman Fortifications Needs the Real Archeology, because Bosnian Pyramid Digs May Destroy them is they’re Fake !
Very Cool Video !
So, The Bosnian Pyramids are jus Wishful Thinking ?
No one is allowed to destroy the old medieval fortress on top of the hill, it is protected by law. These are the remains of the medieval royal city that was also called Visoki.
Doggie hikes ftw!
Honeybun saved the whole day really
I was so sad when you lost honey bun, but then so excited when you finally found the way to the top 🎉
I was really happy to see her again at the end though, that was great
@@YesLandTraveltrue! Great final plot twist.
Forget Visoko - you should have visited the pyramid valley in Krajina by the city Bihac and Cazin.
Petition for Honey Bun to become a permanent Yes Land cohost
Best co host yet... hehe
Only believers can find the right path!
Loved this episode ... feels like a combination of Remember Remember and obviously your travel blog
Loved Honey Bun too! She's a cutie
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was fun doing some real life history stuff!
You sacrificed a backpack for the science.
That place was like a ghost town, i didn't see anyone except the animals!
I love that you went with the name Honey Bun... but have you sampled a Bear Claw? Delicious! But if I'm honest, and I usually am, Nutty Buddy gets my 10/10 for breakfast sweet with coffee.
BTW: beer after a hike... is always a 10/10!
It was beer before the hike that got me haha. Cheers man, I appreciate you
12/10 for scritches! They’re back! 😻
That's what Honeybun said.
... when "onwards and upwards" is taken literally ...
Also ... HONEYBUN!
True, next time I'm just going to go to the Utah salt flats...
Best post-credit scene ever ❤
It made me smile doing that! Thank you for watching the reunion!
Well if the pyramid won't attract tourists, the inside of the pyramid might definitely attract cavers.
Yeah that's true, it's meant to be really cool. I honestly hope they make it a real tourist thing to do
Look up "rice terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras." My guess is a similar thing was done here specifically for farming. We know that to the west of an imaginary line between the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea, farming took root aggressively, starting around 30,000 years ago, with early farming societies building elaborate farming communities in some cases. This, my guess is, was that sort of a thing. It was thus probably more "carved" than "built." If you look at rice terraces, you very quickly see how possible it is to make a massive pyramid by simply cleaning up the faces that are already mostly there. If you happen upon a hill that already is doing an impression of a pyramid almost, then you can get closer to the final result more quickly. I think that's likely what happened here.
The "energy" stuff however is pure crap. Love the random unlabeled color wave graph thing that means nothing.
There's a great channel called Miniminuteman who is an archeologist who debunks conspiracy theorists that focus on "ancient civilizations" and pyramids made by aliens or Atlanteans or whatever and explains how these kinds of mountains are formed naturally and why the classic "pyramid" shape is so prevalent in nature (wind erosion) and across cultures (they didn't have artificial light and needed to maximize access to the sun).
Yeah, I think our past is more complex than we think but this is not a pyramid, that I know for sure.
I loved your part in the end about how history is already amazing enough and there's already so much to learn and study that we don't need to manufacture things. @@YesLandTravel
But the thing is that many parts of the history that we know nowadays are false. It is interesting for sure but unfortunately it's just a bunch of theories which are not proved. And to be honest, most of these lies are produced in England. @@thebuckeyegamer
strange eh? they were saying that big pyramid in mexico is just a hill ... although many locals were saying something else ... untill somebody uncovered it ... and i think same story goes for Çatalhöyük - it was just a hill in turkey where sheeps were feeding, untill they found the oldest city ever recorded - its just a hill, untill its not :D - now they uncovered 9 cities in turkey each dating 9k years before christ ... that were just a hill ... but the most important thing? everybody was calling it a hoax, its just a hill of natural formation, locals are just insane ... untill 1 crazy archeologist started to dig ;) so for now i am scepcital, i will wait untill they uncover whole hill then we will know if its a real pyramid or not
BEST VIDEO START E V E R !!!!! I 💜Honeybun SO MUCH !!!!
I thought you'd like this one. Haha
18:50 no bird. A skinwalker.
Gurabija is actually a traditional bosnian cookie made of only few ingrediants and represents poverty of some old days. It was the only sweet that we eated back days when there was no any chocolate or famous brands like today. Gurabija is something that made us really happy as a kids. Thank you for this video. As a bosnian, I really enjoyed watching you climbing the, for now, so called, pyramid. But, even if it is not a pyramid, we are sure that the mountain is in the shape of a pyramid. So at least we didn't lie about that. 😂😁
They taste so much like Shortbread that we have in the UK so it was a very comforting treat and thank you for sharing the history of them! Thank you for watching!
I would love to go to Bosnia to see Honeybun
She was worth the whole trip!
The Bosnia pyramid is the biggest in the world
So pop and a bar has turned into beer and a biscuit then? 😉😀 You may have gone the hard way up but if you hadn't you wouldn't have met honeybun 🙂
Beer and a Biscuit might be something I do more often!
Der Küchen ist ein alte Rezept Gürabija , in Bosnien, sie müssen cevapcici essen , und gutes Restaurant in Stadt in Schoppin Center Susa ist sehr gut und nicht teuer
I tried cevapcici and it was great as well as a beef and potato stew which was incredible.
Nid go insad piramid
It is an ancient stargate thanks for sharing it is on my bucket list 🏔🏔🙏🌏💜
Look, I'm totally on board to go hunting for a stargate!
I never knew there was a pyramid in Bosnia. The history and new age mashup is interesting. Love seeing how you manage to take the road less traveled and arrive at the destination, even when it takes a few tries 😅 Honeybun is the star of the show in this one ❤
Yeah, I really like getting out of the cities for sure, and honey bun made the day!
You Mast kam in Sommer is tot fan end Partie
Die Steine fehlen weil früher Menschen die Steine genommen haben um Hauser zu bauen
you are right about vibrations stuff but i agree with Osmanagić there is much more things berried in the ground than official story goes.institutionally weve been fed only the top layer victor's propaganda ,
my guess is also he purposely is trying to look little rediculous to keep official historials off of site .
Oh, I like that theory! There's something special about the area that much is obvious and I woudn't be surprised if they find a lot more cool stuff there that's for sure!
I wouldn’t say there’s “very little evidence”
Mathematically there is tons of evidence.
What a dog wow!!!
I'm a geologist. This looks like perfectly natural sedimentary rocks that have been tilted due to tectonic activity. The so-called geopolymer looks the same as Millstone Grit from Northern England - presumably no one has bothered to take a thin section of this and looked at it under a microscope. Imagine that the rock strata are the pages of a book that has been tilted. The side he walked up is like walking up the flat of the tilted page. My bet is that on the opposite side of the mountain you will not see flat 'pages', but just the edges - in geological terms, he has walked up the dip slope, on the opposite side will be the scarp slope. Just a scam to make someone some money from gullible new-age tourists.
Im a geoligist also and i can say that everything you wrote is false.
Really? Such a statement is hardly helpful to the debate, and lacks credibility - especially since you can't even spell geologist correctly. Please elaborate as to why you think my statements are false, and provide your detailed viewpoints. Thanks.@@edzone6145
@@edzone6145He's lying because he's not a geologist
Such a Disappointment ! 😔
Your analysis is pretty superficial to just dismiss it as a scam. Doesn't matter if you are a geologist, if you wanna be serious you should visit and carry out research before stating anything
Willkommen in my Haumtaun ai live in Germany
The government declared the mountain a nature reserve after Semir's excavations, so no more digging is taking place. The mountain does not belong to Semir, which also made it difficult to dig there. You also have to know that Bosnia was once a seabed, which also led to erosion in the rock
Oh that's very intresting, I do think more digging should happen but maybe by a less unilateral prospective. Thank you for the update
I am Bosnian, you just waste your time for nothing is only a mountain. He only amateur archaeology, Scientific investigations at the site showed that there are no pyramids. In addition, scientists have criticized the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina for supporting the claim of pyramids, saying: "This project is a dirty joke on the unsuspecting public and has no place in the real world of science."
Where are Bosnian environmental organizations and nature conservation organizations, this Bosnian businessman is damaging biodiversity with his excavations?
@@BranislavB-hx9zy This is nothing, we have worse environmental disasters than this, the government does nothing. I live in the city of Doboj, we have three rivers, all three rivers are polluted. Nothing has changed since socialism, the factories and people dump everything into the rivers
waste of time
Nope. Bunch of hills.
it is a Hungarian pyramid ! ancient magyar writings found in there and the land belonged to the Magyars long time ago.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Hungary will soon be under Putin and Russia, then Serbia can expand Vojvodina more into Hungary and become bigger! 48% of Bosnia is already under Serbian control with Dodik who is a personal friend of Putin! Forget Bosnia! Hungary does not understand geo-politics Orban is a political amateur Vucic laughs at him!😂😂😂😂😂😂
So happy that Honeybun was there when you got back 🥹 she got home safely 😊 although something tells me she probably knows her way round that place pretty well!
Yeah it felt like she'd been up that pyramid before!
