This was awesome! I have been collecting Jesus on a Surfboard sightings and I needed one from Latvia to complete my Baltic set! Halleluiah! I still need one from Liberia if you happen to be headed that way next. Cheers!
@21:46 Scritches 'Round the World returns! And, no, porcelain cat, bronze statue cat, and painting cat do not count.
The amount of times you go "oh this isn't a path, oops" and the real path is RIGHT THERE and you just keep going down the non-path... "The only thing gangster about this is that it tastes bootlegged" made me laugh And lastly: How quickly you forget our jaunt up a lighthouse on PEI
best one yet, Matthew!
Thank you! I'm really trying to improve with every video.
"sweet, syrupy, and on fire" sounds very attractive as beverages go. Ok, back to the watch.
Look, it grew on me. I liked it
You approach getting lost in the real world like I do with getting lost in an open world RPG (but I travel with waypoints) LOL
You’re back! Love the gladiator reference! Lolol
It's impossible to resist when in a field of wheat.
Great video Matthew - thoroughly enjoyed it. Would love to visit Latvia - you make it so intetesting.
Thank you for watching!
Great to see you again! Love these travel vids
Thank you so much for watching. I'm doing my best to make this more regular for sure.
41:03 I felt that! Great to have your whole travelog in one omnibus, but I also enjoyed the shorter ones. Glad to have you back on thsi side of things and that you're travelling again.
I honestly took me a hot minute to realise how much that hurt.
The doll section reminded me of a norther Japanese town with a big population shrinkage issue and an older woman made a bunch of straw people to place all over the town as it disappears. Hundreds of them.
Ok, I'm going to need to look in to that. Sounds like my kinda weird.
Hi Matthew, it was great to see a new video this morning from you. Enjoyed seeing all of the different cities across Latvia that you visited. You always have many interesting History facts and interesting stories about important events that occurred in the places you explore. Always enjoy your reactions to your Pop in a Bar segments. The way you described that Licorice Drink it sound pretty thick and strong. Looking forward to your future exploration adventures. Onward and Upwards till next time Matthew.
Thank you Ben and yes! There are more plans being made!
ngl, for the opening shot I thought you were being pursued. I had so many questions. I also had respect for the journalistic integrity to film it going down. Matthew didn't choose the Skux Life. The Skux Life chose him.
Ha, I on'y filmed it once so I'm glad it worked out haha.
I am so happy to see new things here! I loved the Les Stroudesq walk away from the camera shots. Especially knowing you had to go back and get that camera and then walk the same route again. Still only a third of the way through, and it is so great. "And this tastes like an assault!" I love your descriptions so much. They just make me laugh every time. I really missed this kind of stuff from you. Back to the rest of the video. Some of the places/things you traverse make me nervous even to watch. That is great filming. Love it. Thanks for showing us places that might be much harder for us to get to. So fun.
I have watched A LOT of Les Shroud in my time. I love him! Thank you for the kind words and I'm really looking forward to filming a lot more.
Best video yet!
Thank you, I'm really trying to make improvements and move forward with things.
New video who dis 👀
It feels good to be back at it!
Yes lad! He's back baby! 🎉🎉
Yuhh yuhh!
Wonderful! Great to see you back in your element again, and apparently with a runner who can set up wide walking shots. Nice touches.
Yes, no one had to go back an retrieve any cameras at all...
Huzzah! I have never been up in that area of the world. I would love to. I have many friends that work for the Canadian government and get posted somewhere different every few years, and several of them have requested Riga in their top 5 each time.
Latvia is one of the most unexpectedly beautifuly places I've been for sure.
Still watching and laughing at you making things more difficult than necessary. "Why did I just come tramping through that thicket!?" hahahaha
A new video?! I'm grabbing a coffee and watching it right now!
I really hope you enjoy it! Thank you
this is a welcome surprise
I'm back baby!
Woohoo! New video! I shall watch this later 🎉 😁
Well this is a preemptive thank you for watching!
what a useless video
My gut feeling is originally the mountain looked pyramid like, so they cut the rock away in places to make it more pyramid shaped and precise. I thought they had excavated pre cut tunnels inside which you could visit at one time!
Former war crimes prosecutor alleges Kosovan army harvested organs from Serb prisoners This article is more than 16 years old · 300 killed in 'house-clinic' in Albania, says Del Ponte · Demands for investigation over claim in memoirs Ian Traynor, Europe editor Sat 12 Apr 2008 01.06 CEST Share Carla Del Ponte, the ex-chief prosecutor for war crimes in former Yugoslavia, has unleashed a storm of recrimination with allegations of a trade in human body parts in Kosovo and Albania after Nato bombed Serbia in 1999. Del Ponte claims, based on what she describes as credible reports and witnesses, that Kosovan Albanian guerrillas transported hundreds of Serbian prisoners into northern Albania where they were killed, and their organs "harvested" and trafficked out of Tirana airport. The Kosovan government, now headed by the former guerrilla leader Hashim Thaci, dismisses the claims as untrue, while Serbia and Russia are demanding a war crimes investigation into the allegations. Del Ponte, now a Swiss ambassador, has been ordered to keep silent by the Swiss government. The allegations are aired in Del Ponte's just published memoirs of her eight years as chief prosecutor for the international war crimes tribunal for former Yugoslavia, based in The Hague. The Hunt: Me and War Criminals, which is published in Italian and was launched last week, has triggered controversy and added to the tensions between Kosovo and Serbia two months after the Albanian-majority province declared independence from Serbia. In the book, Del Ponte writes that her investigators visited a house in the remote mountainous region outside Burrel, Albania, which was allegedly being used as an impromptu clinic for the butchering of 300 young Serbs captured by the Kosovo Liberation Army and transported in lorries across the border from Kosovo to Albania. According to witnesses - including one who said he had driven some of the organs to Tirana airport, and a team of unnamed journalists who investigated the allegations - the victims had their kidneys removed before being killed later and having other organs taken. "Prisoners were aware of the fate that awaited them, and according to the source pleaded, terrified, to be killed immediately," Del Ponte writes. The "house-clinic" was visited by UN officials from Kosovo and tribunal investigators. "The team was shocked by what they saw," said Chuck Sudetic, a former tribunal official who is joint author of the book. "They found gauze and vials of medicines, including a muscle relaxer used during surgery." Witness accounts, indirectly provided to Del Ponte, indicated that some of the victims were buried near the house and at a nearby cemetery. Forensic tests in the house revealed traces of blood, but investigators were unable to establish whether it was human blood. The victims were said to include Albanians and trafficked women from Russia and eastern Europe forced to work as prostitutes. Del Ponte has long complained that the UN authorities in Kosovo blocked her attempts to investigate war crimes by Kosovan Albanians and she says that the authorities in Albania were also unhelpful. The most senior Kosovan Albanian to be tried for war crimes in The Hague, Ramush Haradinaj, a former prime minister of Kosovo and ex-guerrilla commander, was acquitted last week, sparking bitter protests in Serbia. According to Del Ponte, a local Albanian prosecutor, who visited the house with the UN team, told her: "No Serbs are buried here. But if they did bring Serbs over the border from Kosovo and killed them, they did a good thing." The alleged organ harvesting is said to have been uncovered by journalists who called in the UN in Kosovo and provided information to the tribunal. "There were credible accounts of abductions and an organ harvesting operation provided to reputable journalists who have had many years of experience in the region," said Sudetic. The journalists refused to identify their witnesses. Other sources claim the body parts were flown to Istanbul where they were transplanted into wealthy Arab patients. Del Ponte's account is the first time such allegations have come from such an authoritative source. But officials and analysts are surprised that she should choose to air them now, five years after her investigators went to the alleged scene of the crime. Del Ponte writes that it proved impossible at the time to pursue a full investigation of the claims. "I am surprised at the extraordinary serious allegations," said one senior tribunal official. "These allegations have formed no part of any investigation by the prosecution at the tribunal." Mirko Klarin, an authority on the tribunal and Balkan war crimes at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting, described Del Ponte's allegations as "irresponsible and appalling ... This is more journalistic than prosecutorial. She shouldn't put rumours in her book." The Swiss foreign ministry barred Del Ponte, now its ambassador to Argentina, from attending her book launch and ordered her to keep quiet. Senior Swiss figures are calling for her resignation. "All I know is that she was eager to talk about the book after its publication," said Sudetic. According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which mediates confidential talks between Serbia and Kosovo to try to locate and identify those who vanished in the 1998-99 war, there are still 1,967 people missing. The majority are believed to be Kosovan Albanians. The 300 Serbs said to have been transported to Burrel would constitute a large part of the missing Serbs. While there is widespread scepticism about the veracity of the claims, Human Rights Watch said Del Ponte had supplied "sufficiently grave evidence" to warrant an investigation by the Kosovo and Albanian authorities. "Perhaps by bringing this story out now, the witnesses will step forward," said Sudetic. "Perhaps the persons who are responsible for the abductions will worry about the law catching up with them. Any persons who may have taken part in the alleged organ harvesting will sleep a little less soundly."

The Ancient Medieval Structure and the Roman Fortifications Needs the Real Archeology, because Bosnian Pyramid Digs May Destroy them is they’re Fake ! Very Cool Video ! So, The Bosnian Pyramids are jus Wishful Thinking ?
No one is allowed to destroy the old medieval fortress on top of the hill, it is protected by law. These are the remains of the medieval royal city that was also called Visoki.
I'm Bosnian myself, but predominantly grew up far away from my roots (due to the war). Three decades later, and I have yet to explore the area. It's neat that you've got lots of tidbits to share, many of which were entirely new to me. I really enjoy watching these. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Matthew, miss your videos. Hope everything is ok.
Terrible channel, disrespectful asf, dislike
So fun!
This is the dumbest person ive ever heard
Just finished watching your Yesland videos from the start and boy, that was some damn good content!
Forget Visoko - you should have visited the pyramid valley in Krajina by the city Bihac and Cazin.
Never been to Estonia, but I've known about Saremaa since the 6th through geography books and now the Internet. So, I was instantly attracted to your video thinking I was going to end up having a better idea about the place. However, this was a really bad video and a lot of wasted time hearing your whining about your bad decisions and seeing your lack of common sense and normal organizational skills before you travel! I mean, Saremaa is not famous or known outside of Estonia, so everyone was expecting a fun, little trip to check out the sights! Instead of that, you wouldn't even show the moated castle or the main town Kuresaare because you were fixated all day on trying to reach some stupid light house that's not even spectacular (I checked that online)! Next time, Google your routes and sites, so you wouldn't waste something else's time! 😠
I miss these videos coming out weekly. I hope you get to travel again soon.
Nid go insad piramid
Above all, you had the dog following you up the hard path.
The biggest issue is that after the war in Bosnia.. now Bosnia is split in 3 different regions and the Serbian and Croatian part is stopping all the digging of the pyramid.. because they don't want Bosnia to get famous and get rich.. and they did not manage to get this place in the war so it can be Serbian .. so if Bosnia wanna digg they have to colab with serbian and Croatian parts.. and they are stopping it . Just so ppl know why everything is going slow...and not getting anywhere.. its to much political issues
Geopolymer can been made both naturally or via a human made process. Its basically just rock that formed into a cavity. Here is where it get somewhat controversial. While human mad geopolymer can be made in pretty much any angle, somewhat similar to concrete, for nature made it pretty much have to be totally Flatt. The issue is that its hard to believe that post industrial human would have the capacity to make it, and.. its clearly not flat. Well, there is a pretty simple explanation. It was formed flat than raised at a angle by geological effects. This is not only common, but actually typical. What is uncommon here is that its on at least 2 sides if not more, and it is at a very steep angle. Now the following parts is just pure guesswork from my side, so take it with a hand full of salt. The flatt sheet have been raised up at a very steep angle, then when it was at the steepest angle some part broke of and fell down on the other side, then 100 milion year or so later, there came humans and touch up the edges over a period that can have been a large number of generations. While its kind of sort of pyramid shape, 3.. or.. well more like 2½ of the sides are very pyramid like, the inclination of the sides are all different, this makes it a bit asymmetrical that in turn make the alignment a bit... lets say subjective to calculate. I could calculate it to be absolutely north-south if i want to, just selecting the right measuring point, but i could also calculate it to be 10 degree of (that would be pretty bad). Here is where i get kind of boring. With my guess in mind, the pyramid was made in sort of 3 steps. 1: geological. 2: humans doing caves 3: edge touch-up. If the hill was made the way i guessed, there i bound to be loads of voids in the hill. Those could be used for living habitats for early humans. The ice age was never that far south. The human inhabited caves can very well be 12000 year old and the edge touch up done at a later date, like really a lot later. Its really hard to say. I would say its done fairly recently (say in the order of a few hundred years) considering the corners is still that sharp. What we can say for sure its that it was not done the last couple of decades or possibly even century due to the simple fact we have quite old areal photos of the pyramid. So that would be sort of a non magical explination
