Marshall 2550 Output Transformer Calculations

  • I looked up on the Internet the spec for a Marshall Silver Jubilee 2550 Output transformer and it said 3.3k but my calculation say that for two EL34 tubes in push-pull 3.4k would be a bit better value for the primary resistance.
    The new transformer was actually 250w (I read as 25w by mistake!) only needed to be 50w, so only problem is no 16 ohm tap. The plastic frame and end caps can be removed and the original frame parts transfered from the original.

    maybe 6.12v peak to peak would be about 2V-RMS

    maybe 're-wind' broken secondary of original transformer !

      Put new transformer into Amplifier and it works on 8 ohms! Old transformer needs rewinding for certain, the guy I use to rewind the transformer buggered it up twice.

      @@delatronics3257 you cant trust 90% of the locals to do anything correctly, you'd have been better off buying the magnet wire and having a go your self. i've been looking into moving to south america, and regarding construction work expats pay extra for europeans to do the work. they dont say good things about the locals.
