12AX7 (V2 second pre amp valve) was the problem with crackle hears at the end of this video (now resolved). Will probably not charge labour on this repair, I don't have any confidence in this version of board in this terrible design...
As you may have seen in a previous video; this was an attempted repair by another service centre who badly bodged their work and caused the main board tracks to melt and catch fire (in retrospect, I should have replaced the Main board to Version 20, but being in Brazil and having 80% import duty, this was too expensive).
when this amp initially arrived, it had no output except a physical loud popping and cracking noise (switched off very quickly), this was due to the two sockets being replaced with junk parts and loose wires fitted to board (see thumbnail). After I repaired the tracks and put two fresh Belton Sockets in, I had a very low level distorted signal on the clean channel and nothing on the other two.......Problems found with connectors in wrong place, faulty or missing capacitors, bodged repair on output transformer, faulty valves...Then came thermal bias drift problems caused by Ver 00 board. After many days of fault finding and revising board, it is now fully working.

You've got the defective pcb board with drifting bias issues... and someone butchered the whole thing on top of the existing pcb fault by design...

Are you gonna name and shame the seller of those defective valves

The owner should pay you for abandoning the PCB altogether and hardwire the the amp using lots of binding posts. PCB's don't go well with valves it seems.

The client is a very important one and I pride myself on goid customer service even though it may cost me (as in this case). I agree about the binding posts, this design in particular is terrible!

@@delatronics3257 I would do the same.
A costumer once brought in a VOX AC30 where the only parts present were the knobs and a fried power transformer and output transformer. I rewound the transformers and bought the rest of the components. It took several days to put together and I did not charge much for it but the customer went home happy and told everybody where they should bring their gear.
