We own both an e-bike & a couple of scooters. I agree the scooter is a better option for college students. Last year when my car was in the shop for over a month, I was able to commute about to use our scooter. I got up to 18-20 mph and my 10 mile commute was done in about 30 minutes. Only 10 minute difference from driving due to not having to deal with traffic.
The scooter is also great to take on vacations. We went down to AL a few years ago and our Suburban would not shift gears. Luckily there was an auto store about 5 miles away that hubby rode to and got the part to fix the car.
    Both are great purchases!

I do agree that which one is better depends a lot on the person. Scooters are best with limited storage space and for the "last mile" after you get off public transit. Ebikes offers a more comfortable ride and can carry more cargo. I got a radrunner 2 setup for cargo and I can carry far more on me than you ever could on a scooter. That is important when I need to do a grocery run for the week.

I have no interest in purchasing either one yet I still watched this video in its entirety. Very educational.

    Pre-watching I'm going with the E-bike.
After the video, I am sticking with the bike.

After riding a decent e scooter you will regret your decision.

I have the Isinwheel S9 Max and a Jasion e-bike. 1 mile north of the border here it gets very Wiley riding on the road. It's far more common to be hit-and-run than hit and helped. And hitting is... several times per day according to the paper. The scooter on the sidewalk is by far the safest. I actually tump my scooter into the large shopping carts such as Wal-Mart's to prevent theft and shop away without all the fret of an unattended 700.00 loss of the well locked but unattended bike. If I only bought one it would be the scooter. There's lots to consider before buying. The S9 Max has 900 watts max and handles hills quite well.

Well done, letting the boys explain their views - they both speak well. Rider weight will have a significant impact on scooter range, I understand.

The scooter is also good. I like a full suspension MTB ebike more, because the road in my country is not everywhere smooth.

In my opinion a bicycle as you can ride it in the winder in snow and on ice with studded tyres.

I feel that the riders should be around the same body weight and the vehicles should be around the same weight as well. Either that of if the bike weighs more than the scooter than have a heavier rider on the scooter so that both vehicles and riders weigh the same for a fair comparison. In addition the battery packs should have similar watt hours at the same voltage.

I rode an e bike for years, thousands of miles, and lately I’m preferring an e scooter. For urban riding in St Petersburg Florida. I’m 61 years old.

Ebike bc. it pedals and is assisted by the motor, while the scooter is exclusively based on the motor...
If you were to compare an ebike that you don't pedal at all, with a similarly equipped scooter, the lighter one would have a greater autonomy.. .

It depends on how steep the hill is. But it does okay on moderate inclines below 5% grade
