Crans-Montana did not disappoint on its EWS debut, offering upset, trepidation and some incredible Enduro racing to boot. Congratulations to the podium athletes. Melanie Pugin will be able to breath a sigh of relief heading into rounds 8 and 9 as she's whittled herself a small points lead at the head of the women's title race s a bit of a safety net. Richie Rude is now back where he likes to be, in the drivers seat at the top of the table. Jack Moir will have to come back strong in order to win the season overall now. As for the top 10, many of them could end their season with a medal!
🥇 Richie Rude / Melanie Pugin
🥈 Jesse Melamed / Morganne Charre
🥉 Martin Maes / Noga Korem

Big props to privateer Sławomir Łukasik- 4th among all the factory teams is huge! Keep it going man!
Sławek Lukasik. What an incredible story with this guy. No factory support, such an amazing results.
He's absolutely smashing it this year!
I wished Lukasik finished in the first five ... and he has finished 4th! Not a surprise in fact. With a factory support he can definitely fight for the first place. He's a true speed.
Doing it for poland🙌. This dude is a legend
Great you also fixed the problem with not showing the stage results and the overall results separately. You simply announced the stage results with a voice over. This was a great move. Love it!
Yeah we agree, A bit cleaner to look at and follow, it's tricky to manage on such a large scale with so many riders and a relatively short time to convey results as the race proceeds, but we think this is a decent way to do it.
ohhh yeahhh!! grab some popcorn!! what a race! thanks for such a fast work lads!
Enjoy Yaroslav! It's a good one 🍿
Sickest race highlights i ever watched. Great views and drone shots, a good mixture of riding, rider to rider comparisons, interviews, POVs, riding and showing the venue and the results. The music was great, punshy but not too punshy. Also i like the very intense colors of the vids. What I also liked, you guys created a whole storyline in the vid, which makes it exciting and fun to watch. Although its nearly half an hour long it never gets boring. Great job. I loved it!!! (Not finished yet looking forward to the rest of it) thanks guys!😍😍😍🤙
Speaking facts. Loved the music. especially. You described it perfectly. Punshy but not too punshy. Thats what i missed in the last videos. Great job gmbn!🤙👌
Thanks guys, the EWS crew work a lot of hours to put these together and we're stoked to be working with them to keep things moving in the right direction 🤘
Great to see Jesse & Maes back up the sharp end. What a cracking race and great highlights! Rude is a MACHINE! to put 3 seconds into Jesse who is insanely fit on that pro stage climb is just incredible.
Did you see Rude take off up that climb against Melamed at 5:20 ! To hold it together on the following descent after that effort must have taken some serious fitness and skill!
Wow amazing vid. You guys are no doughy my favorite channel
Cheers! Enjoy 🤘
Good job Canyon Collective and well done to Jack for fighting hard for points. 90 points behind in the overall is a good place to end up. Go Jack 🇦🇺 🤙🏻🔥
Yeah fighting on through aren't they!
We want even Moir! Great coverage, Love the battle between Richie 🇺🇸 and Jesse on this one.
Great coverage. Congrats to Richie ! Keep that flow going !
I don't even mountain bike but I gotta say, this production is so GODDAMN GOOD.
Thank you for the hard work your team puts out for us. I especially like the Canadian rider interviews.
Great to hear William! Thanks for watching 🤘
Moi Moi is the Money
Love the coverage this year! Keep it up GMBN!
Thanks! The EWS Team are smashing it!
Enduro biking is not my scene. But I'm happy seeing this video! Great bikers these athletes are!
Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines! #KeepBiking
Not usually the commenting type, but you lads are nearing perfection, considering what you have to work with, with this recap. It almost makes us forget it’s not a live, and feels like we are watching entire stages. It conveys the tension and excitement of racing for the top spot (absolutely do not remove them arrows indicating position gains/losses at each stage’s end) and for GC. Whatever can be said by the internet sphere, a lengthy video is needed here, considering we are talking about a day long competition which doesn’t allow (yet) for a full live show. People watching these videos shouldn’t only be interested in the bottom line (I.e: results), for those are a few clicks away. Those videos are meant for viewing pleasure and entertainment, therefore can and should be of reasonable length. Cheers lads, and keep on rocking our summer world 🤘🏼
Amazing feedback Loulax! We're on the same wavelength 🤘Thanks and keep watching!
Amazing highlights. It would be awesome to have a video that was one hour long or so, to be watched as the UCI. Maybe with more raw footage of the guys and women on the top places. I hope they find a way for us to see some sort of live view of these events!
We're working on more of this sort of stuff Arsenio!
top of this sport is like WORLDCUP soccer finals
MOIR kept playing for the team - hope canyon look after him
that ride is better than his wins
Best highlights i ever watched😍👌🤙
Thanks!
Your transitions are poppin.
Richie Rude FTW! 😎
The best highlights from u guys 🙏💥🔥
Cheers Adhi!
Always stretch/ready your shoulders!!
WOW, the soundtrack guy wants to get noticed. He's made a track thats appropriate for a Bond or Bourne film.
Great video and coverage as usual guys n gals but man that music is irritating
Yep, seems back to that 1st gmbn effort with repeated bits of tracks + the repeated 'tense' snippet.
Could you show the race layout in another color than red? As colorblind it's hard to see.
yo where is the guy playing "hit the road jack" at the awards ceremony???
You guys should put up a bit of footage about the U21. We never get to see them. Unless there is a way to see them. If so, can you indicate how?
Unfortunately the juniors are racing a bit earlier than the pro's, so to move the small camera team around the hill to follow the juniors, they would miss the seniors on the previous stage. We'd love to show more of all the racing which we're working with the EWS team on how to do!
where can i find the trails? wanna ride them too is there a map from the trails?
Lol, at 13:10 some spectators almost got taken out, and then in the next shot of the same spot they decided to move
what about sam hill?
whoever it was who disliked this video needs their internet cutting off, that was a brilliant race
Hard agree!
Yes, Lots of brilliant riding. Maybe they just disliked the overbearing music. :-)
@@jeffhayes1855 booo lol
Great video but the dramatic music was a tad much. It's OK the racing is epic enough without it.
Awesome racing, great camera work but horrible music
Is there a shadow hanging over RR. Given his drug indiscretions?
its 0 am wtf
If we can put highlights out same day... we will!
Sheesh
First view
Am I imagining things or have the climbing sections in stage suddenly become more often, more severe and lending more advantage to the climbers in 2021?
If Rude can pull 3 seconds in that, yeah cool, good for him, but it’s not good for racing…
👎
Rude is hardly what you would consider a "climber." He's one of the heavier riders on the circuit and certainly has few pounds over Melamed. If he lay down that kind of power and then keep it together for the rest of the stage, then good for him! 👍🏼
@@davidwolinetz7864 Call it something else then, but he put three seconds on a guy he was otherwise neck and neck with for the rest of the race. I'd rather see the racing come down to who is the best rider. Not random hill sprints.
Guarantee you it is having an effect on Hill's results this year and there would be other riders in the same boat.
This is Enduro racing! If it was all downhill it would be called something else! The racing year-round has been fantastic and definitely not decided by the uphill sections.
Is there a multi-stage, multi-day downhill race where the riders pedal up the liaison stages?
Why you show men for 2 minutes then show women for like 10 min? As if anyone cares to see their low tech riding?
Really disappointing to see EWS stages won on mid-stage climbs once again. As an evolving sport the identity of enduro is becoming more and more vague. What separates the skill set of an enduro rider from a cross country rider now? When multiple champions of the past are struggling to keep touch, it can't be the coincidence of them all having a bad year. The discipline is losing its roots.
Did you miss the big jumps, the drop into a chute at speed, and all the other tech aspects shown in the video?! Hardly what I'd call XC...
It's pretty hairball to be able to sprint that hard, not go all the way into the redline, and then keep it together for the rest of the stage! I'd say that's one aspect of enduro, and a pretty intense one at that.
Without climbs what separates their skill set from a down hill rider? This is nothing like XC though, there’s no passing, no attacking or trying to stay with someone because it’s just against the clock, I’m not knocking Enduro - just pointing out that XC racing requires a totally different skill set
@@davidwolinetz7864 I did miss most of that to be honest, wasn't until I watched one of Jesse Melamed's onboards that I found out one of the stages was an actual DH stage. I guess I just miss the days when enduro meant that climbing wasn't timed, and if there were climbs mid-stage they were only short and not outcome defining.
@@TwistedAnimator666 Good points, hadn't thought about XC riders having to race shoulder to shoulder and responding to attacks. I agree it's a lot closer to downhill, but the difference used to be that you had to ride up to the top of each stage, not like the current era of chairlifts and climbs mid-stage which determine the outcome of races. I just miss the idea of climbing being something that shouldn't be timed.
Hi Brett, so there are still un-timed liason stages, either by chairlift or by pedal power, yes there is more assistance these days than there was at the beginning, but that's based off of athlete feedback, and these still aren't small days on the bike! Climbs included in some stages have always been part of Enduro, they get the heart rate up and the riders dropping into the next downhill tired and with blurred vision from how hard they're sprinting, only to give it 100% for the next downhill. That's a skill that makes a great Enduro rider!
