- Seeing my favorite rappers posting the same style of pictures and not being able to recreate that look with a digital camera made me want to pick up film photography. In this video, I will be reviewing my very first film camera, showing some sample pictures, giving alternatives to the Yashica T4 and giving some camera specs and explaining why I think it is one of the greatest point and shoot film cameras ever made.

What are your thoughts on the Yashica T4?
i prefer it over my contax t2 no cap
I would love to try the T2
New Nostalgia 2 diff picture styles tbh , peep my ig @shotbykrits i shot the iann dior shots w the contax t2
Krits will definitely check it out
which is better, this or the contax t2
man i been eyeing one of these for a minute. this video isn't making my bank account happy ... haha
Yeah the prices are getting ridiculous but there are some nice alternatives
Cool review buddy :) I totally love my Yashica T4. It was my daily pocket camera back in the late 90's when I started film photography :)
Amazing camera ! 🙏🏿
I really enjoyed the review, especially the personal look at the camera. I have the Contax T2 which it's sometimes compared to and previously had the Yashica T3 - but like you I sell cameras to buy cameras 🙂
Thank you 🙏🏿 and definitely both great cameras
I recommend to try out the Olympus AF 10 (Super or not) work nearly as great and cost 20-40$ ;)
Thats also a great alternative
really appreciated all the background you gave on the camera and its other notable users. Subscribed.
Thank you so much 🙏🏿
Nice that you made a comparison to the other similar cameras, and nice to see a new age review. 4 years ago when i was buying my Mju 2 and Mju 1, there wasnt so many reviews out there, this time i think im going with a Yashica, i have a rangefinder the CLE with a 35 C Biogon, i just need a new point and shoot now.
Really appreciated and the MJU I and MJU II extremely good cameras
Yashica cameras are my favourites.
The T4 is on my list.
I have a 1957 Yashica Mat and a brilliant Yashica Fxd quartz with a 50mm f2 ml lens. Excellent after I have replaced the leatherette body covering with a kit from Ebay.
Definitely gotta try
your video's got me feeling conflicted! i love my olympus mju1 but damn, the photos from the yashica t4 are 🔥🔥🔥
Honestly the Olympus MJU I is pretty solid
Great video bro. Can't wait to pick one up
Thank you very appreciated 🙏🏿
In the 90's these had a rep as being the pocket camera that pro shooters would use. They also had a lot of hype because of Terry Richardson. I had two, the first one was magic, but was sadly lost, or stolen at a club. The second was almost, but not quite as good. I mostly used to use mine with the fastest film I could find for shooting at parties and clubs.
I really think the Yashica T4 is an incredible camera for parties
ahhh, love it, should've mentioned terry richardson for makin the camera notable nowadays, along w/ gunner stahl, etc tho :p
Even though I believe he’s a very talented photographer based on his past legal troubles I felt that it was better to leave him out of this review
@@KILLIVVN ah, i see that's respectable
Great stuff! Just stumble into this video really enjoy your photos 👍🏼
Bless up fam 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
I just found you channel. Loving the reviews and the vibe so far!
Thanks !!
Yessir, new content!!!!! Made my day💯
Achillies1400 appreciated 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Best 35mm camera is a bold statement. Even as a point and shoot I wouldn’t call it the best. It also depends on what you want it for because if all you want it for is IG, a disposable is just as good lol.
I don’t know there’s something magic about the lens and the flash
What’s the best cheaper cams?
really good review, keep It up bro!
Grateful thanks 🙏🏿
Just bought one. My Mamiya 645 broke and all the repair shops arent essential (says who) so I had to cop so I could use in the meantime. Great video !
Hope you enjoy the T4 it’s truly a great camera
where did you buy yours
Just saw my listings for the MJU II on your video, dope!
Spenser Rogers free publicity 😂
Hype for new content 🙌🏽🔥
Restless Creatives thank you really appreciate it 🙏🏿
great video. i'm solddddd
Thanks 🙏🏿🙏🏿
i just picked one of these up for $5 at a warehouse. Cant wait to put a roll through it
Must be nice 😭
Wicked camera for sure.
Incredible camera honestly 🙏🏿
Nicely done!
Thanks 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Never deceives 🔥
Camilo Castiblanco thanks fam 🙏🏿
your shirt so dope man!!
Thanks fam 🙏🏿
I have a different Yashica point and shoot. Yashica MF-2 Super. It’s not as good as this one but I love it. Yashica made some good cameras.
Dope camera
I found this camera at a Savers for $7 in brand new condition. I was blown away on how much they sell for on Ebay. Up to $750! I shoot film. And I didn't know how sought after these cameras are!
It’s a legendary camera congrats and enjoy 🙏🏿
5:51 100% love that shot, dont mind it´s blurry
Bless up !!
Loved this video.
Bless up truly 🙏🏿
My guy thanks for the video! I’m still doubting to make a choice between the T3 or T4.. Do you know if the T3 also has autofocus issues and does it have the same focus distance? I will mostly use the camera for BTS/portraits at concerts (at night).
From what I’ve read I think the T3 has a less reliable autofocus than the T4 that could also be due to the 2.8 lens but I mean the T3 is also cheaper
i loved the video and how the photos looked. what cheaper alternatives do you suggest that have such a strong flash and can maybe recreat some of those photos
Olympus MJU II !! Or Olympus MJU I
Cool video bro love the shirt
Thanks !!
so happy i found
Much love 🙏🏿
Such a great video
Bless my guy🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thank you for sharing your review - I got the Yashica T4 Super waterproof 3.5/35 and it didn't come with a manual - I was shooting away on the camera when I first got it 6 months back and I feel in love with photography all over again. The more I used it the more I had a hard time focusing and capturing the moment - It would take more than a few clicks to take a photo but when it does take a photo the moment has passed especially on AF at night. My recent roll of film came back and more than half of the images came out blurry. Do you recommend bringing it in to have it looked at or it is what it is for this camera
Definitely get It looked at
this is the best video
Thanks so much 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Great video. What film do you usually use with it?
Usually Fuji 400
Awesome. Thanks.
Thanks fammm
Man that's been a dream cam of mine for years. I could never pony up for it. I got me an Olympus MJU though. Also, I see you shooting lil yachty at the goat farms 😏
also, now subbed. If you're in Atlanta, let's shoot.
Bless up !
And the Olympus is fire🔥
Yishcatiii
🤣
Hey New Nostalgia, I also bought the Yashica T4 and wanted to ask you, If i press half the shutter and aim for different objects close/far does the lens need to move ? Because mine is always stucked on one postion but the lens when i shoot goes out in different sizes.
Normally it will only move once it’s fully pressed, if that helps ...
@@KILLIVVN thank you for your reply, sry for that kinda of qs. Gonna shoot some films and test if the close range focus works!
Great Video helped me a lot to buy a Yashica T4!
kr9pton anytime fam 🙏🏿
Thanks for this amazing video! Where can I found a copy of the manual?
www.butkus.org/chinon/yashica/yashica_t4_super/yashica_t4_super.htm
Here you go!
Juice wrld photographer ChrislongFilms made me want go get this camera
It is legendary
Thank u sm for this
🙏🏿 thanks for watching
Hey bro I just had a question I just picked up this camera and was wondering what type of film do you use?
Mainly Kodak Gold 200
Has anyone had difficulty setting the year on the Yashica T series to 20,21,22 etc? My T5D only displays from 00-19 and 94-99??
I’ve actually never tried
what film rolls where you mainly using for the pictures you took in this video
Portra and Fuji Superia
Started doing film the same reasons with you, that nostalgia vibe and being able to recreate my fave rapper's shots. Love what you're doing man! Give me a follow on IG! @lensalen
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Hey, cool video! I have just been given a YT4 and I was wondering if there's any specifications regarding ISO? Cheers
Unfortunately no there are no specifications
Can I use cinestill 800 on this?
Of course I encourage it!
I technically stole one of these yesterday as i scored it for $50 from a thrift store cus it was "broken"
Incredible 🙏🏿
What kinda “thrift” store is selling broken plastic cameras for $50?! 😂
what film did you use in the photos you showed towards the end of the video?
A mix of Portra 400 and 800
Question the yashica t4 zoom is it thr same as this except u can zoom
No they are not they have 2 completely different lenses
do u know how to remove the date/time stamp option on the t4? hard to find online
You have to deactivate it through the mode button on the back of the camera
New Nostalgia preciate u bro
How did you get your film over to computer to post? Thanks.
I went to a photo lab 🙏🏿
ugh gunnerstahl smh id only get this because of the glass, the camera doesn't matter, the only thing that will make your photos better is the kinda glass you have on that camera
Definitely there are so many alternatives, but I still did really enjoy shooting with this camera
@@KILLIVVN I can imagine, never really got into the spec but when you said the closest focusing range is 12 inches or so had me sold because most point and shoots you have to stay about around 2ft just to focus. if I had the money id get this though based off those facts only reason id get a t2 is because I can manually set it to f2.8. nice channel btw.
phvrvohxo yeah you can really focus close which is a major selling point, but the fact that you can change the aperture on the T2 is a game changer
What film did you use and what film does stahl use?
Fuji for both
@@KILLIVVN what iso?
@@KILLIVVN can’t decide between portra 400 or fuji400
Depends what look you’re going for
Who was that female photographer again?
Petra Collins I think ?
do you know if the yashica t4d is the same as the yashica t4?
It’s 99% the same only difference is the T4D is bulkier and has the super scope viewfinder
@@KILLIVVN thank you! i recently just spent an absurd amount for a t4 and i hope it wasn't a waste of money!
It’s a great camera believe me 🙏🏿
does she take good pictures on the go?
Incredible pictures on the go
How do I transfer to my phone bro ?
You’ll need to go to a camera store
May I know what mic your using?
The rode mic!
Out of curiosity how much you sell it for?
What you need is a genuine Russian LOMO 35 point and shoot. And I mean original Russian, not that junk the LOMO International Society pedals these days.
Hopefully I find one !
@@KILLIVVN Forgot to say, thank you for a nice video. It encouraged me to dig out my T4 Super and fire it up again. I've had mine since I bought it new back in 99, I think it was. It's well worn but still a great performer. Ya gotta just love Zeiss glass.
@@d30gaijin the lens is legendary
what do you consider absurd 😂
What do you mean ?
