Here is some valuable input from the comments : for getting off the skin I would put the piece of cactus into deep freezer and then put it into hot steam for a short time.

      Only freeze them for consumption. Do not freeze if u plan to replant them. It will kill it in hours. There is no going back after frozen. Also if u thaw them u must consume it. Do not refreeze. It will turn to mush and ull have to thrown them out. If there is a electricity blackout you're in for a wild night I guess 🤷‍♂️

When I made tea, all I felt was love and light. I even tried to induce fear and paranoia but was unable to. It’s the only psychedelic I’ve tried that doesn’t cause any fear and paranoia. But the taste. My god. Like fresh bile. Next time I want to reduce my extraction to capsules so I don’t have to taste that horrid bitterness.

Unfortunately, most San Pedro in the US is PC Pachanoi, which contains no active alkaloids. If you find one, there are vids on CZcams that will help you to distinguish whether it is an active strain. There is advice on using entheogens to quit smoking in my Psychedelics and Addiction vid.

    The green color just comes from chlorophyll, and although the green outer layer is more potent by weight, most of your mescaline content is contained in the white simply because it makes up most of the plant. You can find content analysis online that compare these strengths. Unless you have infinite cactus to take from, throwing out the white is really wasteful because you'll be throwing out half of your product. But if you do have endless access it would make sense to only consume the more potent part to reduce the overall plant you have to consume.
    But even pure mescaline causes people to throw up. It''s not just the cactus material that makes you so sick.
    Thank you for sharing your process though! Really jealous of places where this stuff just grows wild.

    • @Illumignostic
      @Illumignostic  Před 3 lety +7

      Mescaline extractions say otherwise. Also, when the entire plant is used, vomiting is too excessive for many people.And bear in mind that you are talking to someone that holds the purge in the highest regard My girlfriend, for example, could not hold down a single cup for more than a few minutes until we revamped our process. You are correct, though, that people in the US may not have the kind of access that I do. czcams.com/video/XyjTSKABbQs/video.html As evidence (if you take me at my word), I have a friend that landed a contract to do extractions for a legit company. He found that the white section produced only 15% as many alkaloids as the green layer when they were processed separately. I have considered the possibility that different species may not exhibit this tendency to concentrate alks in the green layer, although I find this improbable
      I do, however, plan to remake this vid at 100K, as I have learned a few things since the time that I made this one, and I certainly will mention that there is enough alkaloid in the pulp that you may want to keep it.

    When you say 12 in per person, do you mean the outer green cut entirely from a stock that is 12 in long, or the overall laid out length, of outer green, cut from the width of a piece you demonstrated?

    • @Illumignostic
      @Illumignostic  Před 5 lety +1

      Here's the thing...cactus has varied potency. Varieties, age, growing conditions, all factor in. At twelve inches per person as demonstrated in the video, regardless of thickness or variations in potency, you are likely to get some effect, without running the risk of overwhelming the inexperienced or hyper sensitive. Preparing more than one cup per person at this dosage (three is a good number) may be wise in order to avoid the risk of underwhelming participants. In my ceremonies I generally measure 2 ft per person, but no one ever drinks that much. I hope this is clear. cactus is measured hole at 12, rind removed and processed.

      Some shamans say early morning is the appropriate time to harvest, but in terms of alkaloid content, it will be more or the less the same at any time. do blend the green part, but you could also just cook it a little longer. Only add enough water to facilitate blending. You will not need to cook again, but you should run some water through the pulp twice. Aho!
