Update!!!!! Freezing and thawing the cactus three times will allow you to pull the skin off like butter dripping' off a hot biscuit! I didn't know about this at the time. I was taught in the jungle. We had no freezer.
Thanks man. I gotta try this out some day.
@John Dough It will all make you sick, but yes, the core and the skin seem to make it worse.
I heard freezing it kills the mescaline
@@cbr1thou absolutely not true
Only freeze them for consumption. Do not freeze if u plan to replant them. It will kill it in hours. There is no going back after frozen. Also if u thaw them u must consume it. Do not refreeze. It will turn to mush and ull have to thrown them out. If there is a electricity blackout you're in for a wild night I guess 🤷♂️

From the way you speak, I can tell you've learned from real teachers.
I went to my first and second ayahuasca ceremony not too long ago; met some wonderful people and revived the oneness with Mother Nature. I'll be trying San Pedro soon.
Thank you sharing your knowledge and wisdom! I'm a guitarist and I try to study the occult too, I'll be checking your vids! :)

Fantastic video 👏🏻. Thank you
Thank you for sharing this.
Your very welcome!
Nice video, appreciate the honest insights!
Loving your explanation. I have two San Pedro, not sure of the pheno, but they’re still young. One is two years from maturity and my second I found a few weeks ago and is still a pup. When I made tea, all I felt was love and light. I even tried to induce fear and paranoia but was unable to. It’s the only psychedelic I’ve tried that doesn’t cause any fear and paranoia. But the taste. My god. Like fresh bile. Next time I want to reduce my extraction to capsules so I don’t have to taste that horrid bitterness.
Thank you so much for taking the time to create this nice video. I would like to see you get yourself a nice cutting board and proper knife though. You're worth it.

And I am a spiritual quest I want to quit smoking more loving more connected and I don’t have the money to go to Peru for it. Again I love your channel thank you Denise Sinclair
Thank you. Ecuador is a few hundred dollar round trip. Less demand. Medicine is very affordable here compared to Peru as well. Unfortunately, most San Pedro in the US is PC Pachanoi, which contains no active alkaloids. If you find one, there are vids on CZcams that will help you to distinguish whether it is an active strain. There is advice on using entheogens to quit smoking in my Psychedelics and Addiction vid.

There's a similar looking cactus like this up the street from me, it has over 15 limbs and they're all over 3 meters tall, some almost 5 meters, it's a beast of a cactus. Now it's got me thinking... =D
Unfortunately if you are in the US it is probably a PC Pachanoi and contains no alkaloids.
Dude some pc is loaded .. also there is so many non pc stands in the southwest
I'm assuming this is the prep video you're talking about. Thanks for being so patient with me.
no problem
You can amplify it but adding grape juice keep in mind this will make it 4 times stronger
Reminds of of Amanita & Grape juice ;)
Very good video especially the inside do not use the core as a very experienced San Pedro enthusiast your best bet is to use a butterknife prior to using a pen knife to cut off the barbs in a v shape
could you make a video with the freeze prep? cheers great channel
I have just done this method and thank you for uploading this video; very easy to follow and complete. I am having a little trouble as to know how far to boil the end product down to achieve the 1oz dosage. I have boiled it down a 19inch San Pedro into about one glass full of dark green liquid but am unsure if I need to keep reboiling down or not to concentrate it more? Just a little worried about taking too much and blacking out. Can you give me any tips on how much I should boil it down or whether drinking this whole glass would be safe? Just need some guidance. Cheers for the awesome video mate.

But i have to add the information that the M is not bitter. M HCL is bitter but in the cacti its not in the HCL form. Even thow a licking or tasting a little bit would probably not be enough to be tasted by our tounge.

Nice info ...? you might want to use Cutco Knifes...! Thank you
I live in Ecuador. Not an option.
Peyote is definitely the father figure out of it and Ayahuasca
Peyote is often called grandfather and San Pedro father
@@Illumignostic As an Apache my medicine knowledge doesn't compute much else, I like that you say that, piques my curiosity.
I like to think I know nothing just incase someone else can give me more insight.
Does what you say hint that the father plant is more hands on or stern, is the father the same but smoother or that the grandfather has more wisdom but is harsher?
I do know that Ayahuasca is for sure the maternal medicine lol she's a fickle yet nurturing one
Love your videos Mate!
I see many people keep just in a Jar, in a cool, dry place. What do you recommend?
Great video bro! Love your your channel, very informative! I have dried san pedro chips, do i need to prepare them the same way?
No. You can eat 15-30 grams, or this way. Not advice . Cheers
The green color just comes from chlorophyll, and although the green outer layer is more potent by weight, most of your mescaline content is contained in the white simply because it makes up most of the plant. You can find content analysis online that compare these strengths. Unless you have infinite cactus to take from, throwing out the white is really wasteful because you'll be throwing out half of your product. But if you do have endless access it would make sense to only consume the more potent part to reduce the overall plant you have to consume.
But even pure mescaline causes people to throw up. It''s not just the cactus material that makes you so sick.
Thank you for sharing your process though! Really jealous of places where this stuff just grows wild.
Mescaline extractions say otherwise. Also, when the entire plant is used, vomiting is too excessive for many people. And bear in mind that you are talking to someone that holds the purge in the highest regard My girlfriend, for example, could not hold down a single cup for more than a few minutes until we revamped our process. You are correct, though, that people in the US may not have the kind of access that I do. czcams.com/video/XyjTSKABbQs/video.html As evidence (if you take me at my word), I have a friend that landed a contract to do extractions for a legit company. He found that the white section produced only 15% as many alkaloids as the green layer when they were processed separately. I have considered the possibility that different species may not exhibit this tendency to concentrate alks in the green layer, although I find this improbable
I do, however, plan to remake this vid at 100K, as I have learned a few things since the time that I made this one, and I certainly will mention that there is enough alkaloid in the pulp that you may want to keep it.
Yes I’d like to go get some I have a baby o wouldn’t never cut
@@IllumignosticI don’t take the chlorophyll out of cannabis oil either
I'm thinking if heat is not a concern, a quick steam blanch could help get that skin off easy.. just an idea.
Thst may be true, and a hell of a lot easier
Thank you so much for that inspiring video:) I was wondering what is that best way to keep it after the cooking. I used so vinegar like you recommended and it's in the fridge now. Should I freeze it or the fridge would do?
The fridge is fine. Boi if it ferments
Beautiful video, how long can you store San Pedro drink?
Longer than you will live. Just boil if it ferments
I must try this! hell lol i like guacamole so by apperance it looks like I'm set!
When you say 12 in per person, do you mean the outer green cut entirely from a stock that is 12 in long, or the overall laid out length, of outer green, cut from the width of a piece you demonstrated?
Here's the thing...cactus has varied potency. Varieties, age, growing conditions, all factor in. At twelve inches per person as demonstrated in the video, regardless of thickness or variations in potency, you are likely to get some effect, without running the risk of overwhelming the inexperienced or hyper sensitive. Preparing more than one cup per person at this dosage (three is a good number) may be wise in order to avoid the risk of underwhelming participants. In my ceremonies I generally measure 2 ft per person, but no one ever drinks that much. I hope this is clear. cactus is measured hole at 12, rind removed and processed.
@@Illumignostic Thank you brother. Wish me luck on the journey
Hi!! Thanks for your teachings. I have a couple of doubts maybe because emglish is not my first languague.
1ts: What time of the day is good for the harvest?
2nd: after you have the grren part, and before you cook it, do you put it in a mixer?
3rd: You only add a little bit of water for this cooking, right?
4th: after you are done with the first cook and you drainit, what do you do with that, do you cook it again? in that case, for how long.
Thanks very much!!!
Some shamans say early morning is the appropriate time to harvest, but in terms of alkaloid content, it will be more or the less the same at any time. do blend the green part, but you could also just cook it a little longer. Only add enough water to facilitate blending. You will not need to cook again, but you should run some water through the pulp twice. Aho!
@@Illumignostic Thank you very much! Aho!!
Can we use potted san pedro? How old should it be? Thx
greetings from sunny south africa -johannesburg
thanks for the great video man.
would you say the the boiling down is then for the purpose of reducing the bitterness?
because my stomach is made of leather and iron :)... and i find that adding brag or soy sauce to each tot makes the consumption much easier.
That sounds gnarly. Boiling down is just to make a smaller volume to drink. A shot is easier than a cup.
Such a great energy. You're living in Peru?
Very helpful! Thank you.
Gracias a ti! No, I live in Ecuador. Vilcabamba.

any tips on growing the cactus? i got a little guy but don't want to wait years for him to get big enough to harvest
Put it in the ground and dont lie to it
thank you. after peeling the waxy skin, are you suggesting then cutting off the dark green layer as well? Then why peel it? and why not use the core?
The core contains very little alkaloid. The waxy skin contributes greatly to the nausea effect. The green layer is the money layer.
@@Illumignostic Thanks. Makes sense. I've heard mixed attitudes about freezing first, then cooking vs not freezing. Your thoughts?
@@micgelbart I dont think it matters much. Freezing and thawing helps break down cells, but if you blend the cactus and then boil, it gives up the goods in an hour or so. Freezing first may facilitate easier peeling.
Now I've read/heard that using the freezer method with lemon juice will give you a more potent cactus juice. Heating it breaks down some of the potency they say.
mescaline is destroyed only after prolonged exposure to very high heart. This method yields medicine so potent that three ounces overpowered a 220 lb man with a tolerance. It doesnt need to be any stronger.
Mescaline is molecularly stable you can boil it for as long as you want the shamans in Peru boil the shit out of it
@@billspoon6331 you think maybe they do that to make it less potent? Again just something insane on several other sites and videos
@@arcanis12 no
Well considering they cant freeze it we'll never know if they prefer it the other way.
for getting the skin off can you use one of those kitchen tools that you skin potatos with to peel the skin
I haven't found this towork aswell. Freezing and thawing definitely the easiest.
Thank you for this video. Does storing the cacti in a fridge for a while (maybe months) before preparing destroy the effect of the plant? xx
There is no reason to do that. It will stay alive for a very long time in cool, dry place. You could freeze it for storage
Do you have a video on changa prep?
No
I watched many video on prep. actually I found this video very helpful & simple as many on u tube contradict each others & get you confused. at least thus nice man tells why yo not use n how etc... the only thing is that 12 " piece per person , measured how? I read your comment saying you prepare 2 ft per person, isn't that 24 inch? if you pls explain that. thx u
I use 18-24" in ceremony where I am present to guide. 12" is for a begeinner at home.. Still could be quite strong, depending upon cactus. 12 inch by length
@@Illumignostic does it matter how old the cactus has grown for? i read somewheres the cactus should have matured for 2 years to actually reap the benefit of the medicinal properties? Is that true or is any piece of the san pedro (tip/trunk) ok to use?
If you have winters, it becomes stronger in the cold (stress on the plant). If you leave a cut laying somewhere in a room for weeks/months, it can also become stronger.
@@dominus6695 are you sure about that ?

Do they have to be this size to harvest ? What if they are 18 to 30 inches and skinnier ? Seeing cuts being sold for about 100 that size would that do me if I wanted to have a experience.?
Yeah, thats about enough for one strong experience. Send an email if you like and I might be able to help you out
why do you remove the wax skin if blending and straining?
because it is toxic and contains no mescaline
Is there a ritual before making the tea?
Sort of. During harvesting tobacco smoke is blown on the cactus and prayers and thanks are given. During the entirety of the process, great focus and clear intent are very important.
Thank you for your assistance, comrade. But can I add sugar to the mix?
Can you? Probably. Should you? Probably not. Adding an entire pineapple to the mixture is done frequently. I can't imagine pouring white sugar into a cactus batch, lol. I think that would generally be frowned upon by most shamans. THe pineapple will assist in the extraction process as well

Noone knows, lol. Ive heard of people forgetting about cactus's for a year or more and finding them alive in the basement growing roots. A long time,. They will grow pups and roots that will suck moisture,so eventually they will die, but dried or frozen probably 50 years.
Does it need to be that thick? Does older plants mean stronger content?
It is said that it needs to have at least 7 ridges, and it is also said that older cactus'' are more potent. Wisdom comes with age
Is it possible to harvest San Pedro after 1 Season? How long do you grow it?
It depends upon the size of your cutting. From seed, probably not. It can take several years for a cactus to reach a usable size. Counting the number of ribs, 7 being the indication that the cactus is ready. Also, it is said that the older the cactus, the more powerful.
I have two in my collection but neither are as beautiful specimens as what you are preparing. Do you have an email or something we can discuss you sending me a cutting of one of those beautiful cuttings?

If it is US, it is likely PC pachanoi, so you will need to at least double the cactus per person
what do you mean by 12” per person? it’s a little vague
The cactus varies tremendously in potency. 12 inches is usually a safe bet. I usually drink at leat 18
So you blend the cactus with water before boiling?
yep
I have a little baby San Pedro, it's about 9-10 inches tall. If i were to consume the whole thing, would that be a high enough dose? don't want to kill Freddy for nothing
Probably not, especially if its a from seed. I generally serve 18 inches per person
Hey mate... what do you think about freezing it before cooking it? Have read it is key but unsure if it’s important. Cheers!
definitely not important. Could help it break down, maybe easier to skin. The cactus gives up its it's goods easil

If I buy it dried, it is sliced into medallions, cross sections much as you are showing, what is the best way to prepare dried San Pedro? I presume I remove the inner part and the waxy coating just as your are showing? Honestly,I was planning on just macerating everything in a blender and cooking slowly in a crock pot with a cup of lemon juice to reduce loosing any of the medicine.
I would remove wax and core unless you want to purge a lot. and perhaps that is needed. I would weigh 15g for light, 30g for med/heavy and either just eat it or make tea as shown in the vid.
@@Illumignostic No purge needed, thanks for the reply.
@@SuperGoonch if you are drinl\king medicine, and believe you do not need to purge, you do not understand the medicine. or purging. or both. not being condescending. just something to consider.
@@Illumignostic I am a scientist, and thus, think very logically. I want to release my hypothalamus, as I have done before (very successfully) a couple of times with Psilocybin. The hypothalamus region of the forebrain is below the thalamus which coordinates both the autonomic nervous system and the activity of the pituitary, controlling body temperature, thirst, hunger, and other homeostatic systems, and involved in sleep and emotional activity. This medicine, mescaline, is supposed to be similar to psilocybin in that it unlocks the hypothalamus, and is extremely beneficial for those with repressed emotions, or those who want to delve deeply into their primitive brain for healing.
Purging, again my opinion, is purification or cleansing. Everyone needs to purge once in a while, I value it as well. A little purging is necessary in the process of taking this, or other similar types of medicine, I agree. Yet, the purging aspect is not what I am looking for and I would like to keep it to a minimum, hence my original question. Thank you for your ideas and opinions, I appreciate your help my friend.
