Where are Chumbawamba when we need them? I love everything this band has done, from the anarcho punk beginnings to the beautiful folky songs at the end, inspirational, intelligent, thought provoking, motivating and fun.
Today I accidentally found a great song after 25 years, Timebomb.. And it brought me back to the past when I was playing FIFA 98 as a young kid with the best Tubthumping music. I turned on CZcams, played Chumbawamba's last live concert and remembered, I am very sad that the band is no longer touring and making more great music that is important today. I am sending my best regards from the Czech Republic and I hope that there will still be an opportunity to listen live!!! 😘
Always loved you guys - always will. You were right by my side through all the awful decisions of my youth, thought to the mellowing into middle age. I could never express my gratitude enough, for all the happy times and memories shared with your tunes, and the inspiration you have provided for so many.
Love Chumbas-just miss the anarchist element of when I first saw them in the mid-1980s..we need that now

There has never been a band as good before or since - from the 80's through to this. Never afraid to say what should be said. No compromise. I miss them and their music and messages terribly. We need that now more than ever....All that wrapped up in some great tunes!
They promised no reunions when they ended. They are a band with integrity. As much as I would love to see them in person, it would be disappointing if they went back on their word.
@@jemimallah2591 they are all active in their own things. All still radicals. Supposed to be a documentary out soon, to coincide with the 20th anniversary reissue of Tubthumper. (Arguably the worst song they ever did, definitely the worst on that album, probably why radio liked it.) One Hit Wonder is the working title. It's not about bashfulness, it's about integrity. They were very clear at the time it was over, the band would not reunite. A band whose specialness was all about integrity would be lessened as a whole if they went back on their word.
@@johnkayoss5422 As someone who didn't discover how amazing they are until the pandemic, I wholeheartedly disagree. If they came back I would go to great lengths to see them, and wouldn't think it would hinder their integrity in the slightest. While I do understand to a point, I would admire the fact that they realized how valuable their voices and words are right now. They're saying what so many artists need to be saying and more.
@@TheShauNanigans there are plenty of other artists who have picked up where they left off. And the recordings will always be around. Frankly, if you understand ChumbaWamba at all, then rather than beg them to come back, you'll start your own band. Doesn't matter if you have no musical ability - have you ever heard their early recordings? Anarchism, if anything, is about doing it yourself, and encouraging others to as well. ChumbaWamba was not a liberal band.
Great band, I watch this often and when the lovely old boy comes on and sings 'Words' I invariably tear up.Chumbawamba is a massive miss to the circuit these days.
I haven't seen this before. When they begin by saying "The entire front row is Margaret Thatcher," I started literally laughing out loud---perhaps watching/listening for the first time at the office was a bad idea. But on the other hand, it will likely be the best part of my work day! Thanks so much for this!
Ian Ferrier I'm so jealous--having never seen them perform live, I have to settle for CZcams scraps! Thanks for your part in brightening my day (when I first posted my comment) and for brightening it again today by reminding me to watch this again! :)
Saw this wonderful ensemble 6 times, always a different line-up but always totally brilliant. I particularly like the bit with O'Hooley and Tiddow, they live a few hundred yards away from me.
One of the best "live" gigs anywhere/ever. Sadly I was already "ticketed" for another gig elsewhere and therefore couldn't make this my 7th and final Chumbawamba last hoorah. Whatever the line-up of musicians ,singers etc they never let you down...always full-on entertainment of a different kind. There'll never be anybody remotely similar, unique in every way. FANTASTIC ! !
This is so good. I got to see them in some tiny town called Biddulph because I was backpacking through Europe in 2010, and they happened to be playing a show when I was going to be in England. I structured my entire time in England around that show. That night I tried roughing it in the woods next to a farm because there were no hostels in town the the bnb was like £40 and I was that cheap. it rained, of course, and I had to get a taxi to the next town to find a bed.
Wow, I'm at least 20 years too late to this. Only hear 'Tub thumping' before. There is so much more great stuff from Chumbawamba, enjoying catching up, but disappointed they're not still touring.
They were my absolute favourite band to see live in my younger days - used to try & catch them whenever they played in London - They always enjoyed themselves on stage which was infectious and they never stood still musically 🙂
when the show was over i cried, by the grace of the works in Voices, Thats All, Jacob's Ladder, bY & by and of course what i think the pope should consider some new saints into psalm writing for that glorious Bella Ciao. And this gig, they have never sounded better, had a better lineup, a better stagement part theatrics part true as only saints manage to be and yeah I also wept a tear for realizing they're not making music thus to be an observer to this special, larger than life if life is large-band probably will never happen. Any musicians wanna collab on a tribute?
Seen them a couple of times and ended up meeting them as a few of my mates know them and ones brother is in the band 😜 Danbut Nobacon walked away cos I introduced myself as Ackbut Nomeatpie ⚡ Alice was very nice though and chatted for a bit 😜
I had no idea about this band except for Tubthumping. I went looking for the video because someone had posted parody lyrics of Tubthumping related to Trump’s 4 indictments. Such a talented group. Can’t wait to explore more of their music
Have you heard of a band called Merrry Hell? Two very relevant tracks 'Come On England' and 'We need each other now', and a very sad one entitled 'Coming home song'. They are available on here.
Look at their early years and look at them in this, except for Lou Watts' voice and the messages in their music, you'd never think it was the same band.
Danbert NoBacon ?? Never, that's that Burnley Grammar school old boy, Nigel Hunter, from Rossy Road right there. ...... Sorry for blowing your cover Nige ;-)
Come on peeps, get the (electric) band back together, boxing gloves out, and take me back to Salisbury Arts Centre early 90's. One of my all time favourite gigs.
April 2024 and I'm just finding this band. Oh wow, I love them! 🎶❤️
Their music is as fabulous as their integrity and I love them too!
Finally late lovers reunite! Feels like I knew them long ago which I did, but resurgence here and now. (USA!)
Where are Chumbawamba when we need them? I love everything this band has done, from the anarcho punk beginnings to the beautiful folky songs at the end, inspirational, intelligent, thought provoking, motivating and fun.
retired paul, should we bring them back?
Well said Paul !
If you need a band for you to do the right thing, you are the problem.
Everything but the name.
Banksy - yesterday !!
Who wants a reunion concert besides me?

Roy Bailey, what an adorable man.
He died didn't he? Very sad
Criminally underrated band. Thank you all for all of your words and melodies. Bella ciao. :')
no accident, i'm afraid
one of the most underrated and underestimated band overall! thanks for sharing this great piece!
totally agree
The world needs them more than ever now. The most counter cultural band of the 90s. Cobain sang about his problems, Chumbawamba sang about the peoples
Come back Chumbawambas!!!!! :´(
Just what we need, bring on the brexiteers!!
¿cómo he podido vivir has ta el 2024 sin disfrutar de esta enorme banda?
so good to revisit this every once in a while
Every week for me I just miss Chumbas so much
I'm so glad they decided to do a last performance DVD like this. Thank you for this Las Chumbas Wambas!
I've cryed at Tupthumping ... this band is part of my life.
me too
If these doesnt make one cry i'd be really scared and moved myself away from her/him as quick as A timebomb
I miss Chumbawamba. We could really use them now... and always, really.
More like now
I weep over the beauty and the nostalgia all around us.

They followed in the wake of good 80s politico, left-leaning bands in UK etc , like early ‘Latin Quarter’ during the dour Thatcher-Reagan period…
Awesome gig!
Great music, wonderful people! Miss them much! LOVE!
Get the band back together folks, this gig is just fantastic.

some girl handed Maggie Thatcher face masks to the entire front row.

its so disturbing seeing these voices i know from my childhood attached to people so... old... then i realize that it's I that am old...
and the timebomb hasn´t exploded yet
Soon
I have the same feeling. I saw them for the first time in 1995...
Hits right in the feels mayne.

1 of the best live shows ever from a classic band these are Immortals

Paul Grecco is playing harmonica in Tubthumbing!! 💓 I miss him. What a great guy. 1:22:00
Well this just made my day. Thanks for posting it, reminds me I always had great taste!
this is soooo wonderful. thanks to whoever uploaded it. wish i had been there
I was and it was a great gig.
How fantastic to see Dan, Harry, Dunst, Paul and Alice all make an appearance. We just need Mave and Midge and we almost have a quorum.
