This actually does happen I’m living proof of it. My dad was murdered when I was six months old when my grandma went to go pick up the stuff that was left at the grave the day of his funeral she noticed that his grave had never been dug but she noticed somewhere else there was a grave that was freshly made after arguing with the funeral home she ended up getting a lawyer eventually they didn’t want to cause a court case about it so they took it out to prove her wrong only my grandma was right they buried my dad in the wrong spot. He is now in the correct place or he has been resting for 30 years

At my grandpa's wake, they gotten the bodies mixed up. Instead of my grandpa, it was another man. What was really crazy was that my family knew the man who passed away and contacted his family. When we told them that he wasn't my grandpa, they didn't believe us. My family continued to say "we knows what he looks like and this isn't him". They tried to say it was makeup making him look different. Come to find out, we were correct. After a couple hours they finally came out with my grandpa. The other man family wasn't supposed to viewing him until 3 days later. Let's talk about a horrific day. R.I.P Grandpa I love and miss you bestfriend! ❤️🙏🏽

Makes me think how many people who have no one looking out for them end up in the wrong arrangements. God forbid being cremated or buried incorrectly. It has got to be so upsetting. My little brother died in 1975 so my parents bought two other plots as well so they would be together (my brothers was the one on the right), then my little sister died 2 months later, so they decided that when they died, to be buried together in double deep grave. We couldn't understand then, why they dug my sisters grave double deep, that wasn't until my dad was dying and my mum & I went to start the arrangements for my dads burial, we found out that my brother was not in the grave that had been purchased, he was in the one to the right that wasn't one of the ones my parents had paid for, so they were given that one & got to keep the other 3, otherwise they could have been sued (seeing we had been visiting, &, putting flowers on a grave that was empty for all of those years), plus, they would have had to exhume my brother which would have cost them a lot too. No matter what the job, people can make mistakes, even heartbreaking ones.

10 years ago there was a black mortuary that was caught in Atlanta selling the same caskets and vaults and grave sites The family would watch their loved one go into the ground .And then they would remove it and do it all over again .The sick part was they were putting the bodies in a concrete storage and they were piled up on top of each other .The police said it would take years to identify who the bones belonged too .Last I heard some of the family members went to jail . Not sure if they stayed in business .But when family members came to visit the graves of their loved one just like this lady they complained about the same thing .Then the police asked everyone on tv if they had a loved one one buried there to come down and see if their loved one was where they were suppose to be and the rest was history .

Several of my relatives are insisting that this same thing happened with my Grandmothers grave. I know for a fact it hasn't. She is buried next to my Grandfather. Her headstone was already in place before her death. In my cousins eyes for some reason they believe that when my Grandmother died they dug my Grandfather up and buried the both of them in a different part of the cemetery for some crazy, evil reason. I have photos of the grave BEFORE she died. I have documents showing what plot her and her husband purchased many years ago before their deaths. I have showed this to my cousins and they still don't believe it. These people have only been to that cemetery 2-3 times and I have been there countless times. Some people, when a idea gets planted in their heads they just don't believe anything else and nothing will convince them otherwise.

As someone who works at a cemetery as well; Sometimes the grave that was dug is too unsafe to be set up (eg, cave-ins and unstable ground), so a false setup is placed nearby. After the funeral, the casket/crypt is lowered into the original grave.

It is more common than the public knows. As a former cemetery manager, I left my position after I heard the unethical orders from the owners of the cemetery to move children's graves from decades ago since family does not visit anymore to make room for new plots. He even demanded in orders for me to do Muitiple graves in one. I was totally disgusted and left my position immediately with reporting to police and news channels back then to expose these crimes without morals from the owners. The sad thing is, these owners owned two cemeteries in New Orleans Louisiana and one in Tampa, Florida back then. No clue what they own today.

Strictly speaking, there are two kinds of "containers" for the casket--concrete grave liners and burial vaults. The former are comparatively inexpensive, while the latter are expensive.
Cemeteries usually require them so that the grave doesn't sink as the casket disintegrates.

He has been deceased since 85 and after a hurricane here in NC they claimed his casket washed up and that his remains were held for a year in the state medical examiners officer where no one tried to contact my family. They buried 18 bodies in a mass grave and the only way we found out my granddaddy was missing is by chance. So now we have a lawsuit pending against the state. Now he was buried next to my grandma how come she didn’t come up too! So now we had to submit DNA to Match dna taken from 1of 18 bodies that they didn’t even have the decency to contact the next of kin and they knew which graves were empty. This video is obviously old - 2016. Just to let everyone know she was proven wrong about this. I don't know what confused her, but maybe it was this. At both of my parents funerals they had what i believe was called a false grave. They explained it to me beforehand. It was near the actual grave, but was closer to where the hearse parked so pallbearers didnt have to carry the casket as far. After the service the cemetery workers move the coffin to the actual grave. If someone didnt know this and came back later they would think something was wrong. Just speculating, maybe that is what caused her confusion.

However, my problem is the fact that the loud mouth, ghetto-fab woman made it public and had she been right we would've seen her broadcasting it to the world several more times while waiting for compensation for pain, suffering & mental anguish, now she should be just loud, on TV apologizing for her accusations. These type of accusations can hurt that funeral home's reputation & we work too hard in this business to earn the trust & respect of those we serve.

She probably doesn't have enough money to make that a fruitful approach (although, as you say, she would be going for the mental anguish and all that crap in a minute) , but there should at least be a televised public apology and some form of punishment. Like JAIL TIME for slander and false accusations. She was BS from the start.

That he want someone to wait until he is in his casket and vault placed in the ground. I've been the last person to leave the cemetery of each of my family members internment. That was 1989 the last burial was my youngest Sister that died from breast cancer. And I can tell you the cemetery workers tried to make me leave only once...I found it unsual....and I stayed 1/12 hours for them to bury my sister....and I wasn't leaving and didn't leave until her casket was lowered and she was buried. I later found out that cemetery workers was arrested for grave robbing. Someone of the family needs to stay until the end and your loved one is properly buried.

I don't suppose it occurred to this ranting woman that it would cost the cemetery quite a bit more in time and machinery to dig up her father, move his coffin to another location, bury him there, and then bury a different person where her father was originally. That's just not cost-effective in a cemetery that obviously has ample room for fresh graves. Where is the grave marker for her father? I didn't see one and THAT would have moved as well, leaving an imprint where it had previously been, even after only a few days (ask any kid who has ever moved a rock from one place to another to see what would happen underneath and how long it would take).

In this business we're blamed for everything and most of the time it's the ppl that didn't have any money that cause the most problems. For instance, they'll have just enough to cover the casket but we'll still throw in extras like the limo/family car & programs then they'll call and say the car wasn't big enough, they didn't like the programs because it didn't have as many pics as they wanted. When you don't have money yet insist on a ground burial, PLOTS COST MONEY PLUS A FEE FOR OPENING/CLOSING THE GRAVE, so you find one that only cost 100.00. Well, you get what you pay for ,and after a few years you decide it's time to visit mom, dad, nanny, grampy, Aunt Lucy Mae's grave but either you can't find it, or can't get to it because the grass is taller than you. Now, you jump in your car headed straight to the funeral home going 100 MPH to act a fool with us when it's your fault you didn't buy/make marker nor didn't keep up the grave. A 100.00 plot won't pay for perpetual care and most likely the funeral home doesn't own the cemetery. Death is certain and we all know it yet you'll plan & save for houses, vacations, college, retirement & weddings but not for death then when something happens you have to figure out where that nice chunk of change coming from in a very short amount of time. People will say if you need anything just call me,but they don't mean, it's just a typical statement under those circumstances. The first time to you call you'll get an answer until you ask for the money after that something will be wrong with that phone & it's straight to the voicemail until after the funeral. Everybody needs life insurance however burial insurance and pre-need arrangements are options. Life is better because it's a set amount and after the service is paid for you get the balance. Funerals are costly and you still have to live afterward.

We didn't know because we weren't born and only children when my granddaddy died in the 80's then in 06 my mom died and we wanted her next to her dad (our grandaddy). We were told it would be 2,000.00 in addition to all of the costs then we found out the blessing left by our great -grandparents. People need to get their business in order before something happens. Oh and for those who think that just because you have a new policy and a few months later the policy holder dies you get the full value of the policy NO most companies won't pay the full value unless the policy is 2 years old.

But generally spend a long weekend working 2 full days to cut back many months of overgrowth, to add insult to injury the county had purchased & developed the land behind the cemetery, causing massive erosion from the cemetery side, and plots are sinking & washing away, including my Father & brother... but not living locally,

I can see where this lady is coming from. A simple fix for that is to not leave until you see your family member go under the ground with your own eyes and get covered up. They tried that with my dad and said that we cannot be there for the grave closing. It worked for my cousin's but for me I went and sat on top of a tombstone two graves over and stare down down. So they finally put him in the ground and said I could go while they covered him up. That seemed to really suspicious so I took one other shovels and started throwing the dirt on myself. Then I told them I am going to need a $500.00 refund for do and get myself and then they started helping. I would not want a funeral home to just stopped me in the ground and resell the vault in Cascade to somebody else & I definitely would not want my family members to have that happened to them. Imagine going through the rest of your life asking yourself "what if? I wonder."

Your not paying that much attention to your surroundings. If I went back later to the spot I though was and there was an empty vault, I would definitely get freaked out.

This is very true. It's very easy to to get it mixed up when you go back to the site. Even when I go visit relatives graves that have been passed, I always end up getting mixed up and it takes me a while to find the grave markers.

My family has a plot and when my grandma passed away in was christmas eve winter time winter snow in northern penna . anyway we went to grave site , she wasn't in the family plot and when we found were she was there was so much water on her grave because the snow was melting . all the flowers were floating on top. I was told she was moved to family plot but I didn't go back after seeing what i saw. I was 11 and she was only grandma i remembered and it hurt so much to see this . I was the phone who took the phone call from my aunt who told me grandma passed away . why she told a child is so wrong. I remember throwing the phone and running to my dad and crying . what is worst than that was some family members of my dad took pictures of my grandma in casket and when she passed at my uncle house , her own son and his wife left her there alone went to grandma's house took out everything they wanted before my grandma body was picked up and after the service my dad's brothers, sisters went to grandma house and took everything that was left. My dad didn't go or get anything . We didn't have anything to do with them after that . Night my grandma passed there was a plane crash in our town it took a few hours to go pick up her body from my uncle's house . worse yet my grandma was buried on my birthday . My birthdays after that haven't meant much to me all and i am now in my 60's .
