This is the only peperomia that I’ve managed to keep alive for a long time. Mine actually had 2 variegated leaves! It’s typically not a plant species that does well for me. Yours is stunning! Love the care tips💚
Thank you for watching. I've never seen a variegated one. Has the plant maintained the variegation?
The two variegated leaves have not changed at all which is good but the new leaves have so far emerged green.
I must admit that after "5" kills, I was a little apprehensive about seeing another Peperomia. They hate me. Now, this Polybotrya is absolutely amazing, Peggy, and yours is excellent advice. I think my problem might have been overwatering and not enough light. I also didn't know about checking the roots when I first bought them. Awesome video. Thanks, Peggy.
Sounds like you're considering #6. Glad you found the information helpful!
Oh my she’s gorgeous Ms. Peggy ☃️❄️💚🙃
Thank you!
Wow ! It's beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Great video! Thank you! I love this plant
Me too 😊. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video. Thanks!
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
Wow wow wow! Never seen one so nice!
Thank you!
I’m not good at this finding videos! I’m so glad I found yours.
Welcome! Glad you found me!
Very informative, thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful 💚 First time seeing blooms on this plant, amazing
Thank you!
Stunning ❤️.Mama Long Greenville Tx 🙏🏾
Thanks for watching
I am so jealous! Your plant is beautiful 🌺
Thank you! 😊
Great info on a plant I have been passing up at Lowes for weeks just because it’s a peperomia. Lol I won’t be passing this plant up next time I go to Lowes now that you shared your secrets! 😊 Thanks Peggy!
Things have gone much better this time around. Best of luck to you with your next one!
OMG...just beautiful!💚💚💚 I just purchased 2 of these beauties a month ago ... certainly appreciate the tips ‼️
You are so welcome! Best of luck with yours.🌿💚
Omg! That is a beautiful plant, I had a small one a few years back and she didn't make it. But, yours is gorgeous makes me want to try again.
Second time was a charm for you.💚🌿
It has done well so far...knock on wood!
Cute plant! I do not think I have ever seen this one.
They are becoming quite common in the big box stores on the Costa Farms displays, in my area. Hopefully they will soon make their way to you!
Wow that was a phenomenal video I didn’t know you could grow them so large and full! I have grown mine for three years from a single stem and leaf propagation and it took about a year for it to grow another leaf. I have a very full plant now the leaves are rather overcrowded and all competing for space. It’s not leggy. I have let it dry out but I think it’s also a little unhappy in too much direct light since the spring sun is stronger in its usual spot. I have moved it back and have watered it. Hope that means the leaves will return to raindrop shape and not curling away from too much sunshine. I will bottom water per your recommendation thank you
There's alot to be said for growing your plant from a seedling...you really get to know your plant. Sounds like you know exactly what it needs. Happy growing and thanks for watching.
I too was trying to kill mine. LOL i learned what it loved before it was a total loss. But this is why we love plants! almost like a puzzle to figure out what works for them. thanks for the videos Peggy!
Glad you were able to figure out what your plant needed before losing it. Whew!
This is a great video on Peperomia Polybotrya care. I just purchased a mature plant and am very much looking forward to caring for it and having it in in my houseplant family. As for water, I have well water and all my plants seem to love it! I used it straight from the tap, room temperature, and voila.
It's great to be able to use water straight from the tab. I have enjoyed caring for my Polybotrya, the second time around. Best of luck with yours!
My first one died too. You convinced me to try it again. Thanks for the tips!
You're welcome. Better luck with the next one!
Great info! I had mine on the floor next to a south facing window. It was stretchy, leggy and only top leaves. Pruning wasn't an option so I've repotted into a better draining soil and put it on the south facing windowsill. It's much happier. I'm treating it like my hoyas.
Yay! Glad you were able to figure out what your Poly needed. Plant win!
@@PeggysPlants Well it had root rot. I was able to water propagate and now have a very happy plant sitting in the windowsill and I water it when it's completely dried out. It's full and a pretty unique looking plant. I tried to propagate the cut leaves in dirt that didn't work for me.
Beautiful video! I have killed a few Peperomias, until I discovered that overwatering was the problem. I don't water until leaves are soft and sometimes almost start to droop. After doing it this way this plant is growing and thriving. Yes it needs good light and I use regular water, I guess our tapwater is okay for it. I have three of them. Enjoyed your video!
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I'm glad you have been able to figure this plant out and are now growing 3 successfully.
Omg girl your so informative. I purchased one from Walmart this weekend and it is struggling. Some leave have the acne, will that go away or should I cut the leafs off. Also some are curling inward what does this mean? Thank you 🤗
The acne is normally in reaction to chemicals in the water, so I'm told. I did experience this early on and it stopped happening once I started using filtered water. It's just cosmetic, so I personally would not cut off the leaves. When my leaves have curled inward, it's because the plant needed water. I bottom water to be sure the plant is being thoroughly watered. Best of luck!
I bought this plant with acne. I didn’t know what they were and now after being in my house for a year it has lost them. 😊
Been there, done that. You're not alone! 😊
Great video. I got a small one for my birthday one year ago. I’ve repotted it once and it’s thriving. It’s about the size you have. Will you keep it in this pot or will repotting it make it even bigger?
For now I'm leaving it as is. May yours continue to thrive!
Wow that plant is beautiful!🤩 I killed 2 from over-watering and I just moved the one I re-purchased months ago, closer to a window a few days ago and finally it looks happier! So true about higher light! Thanks for the tips👍😁
They like light for sure. Best of luck this go round!
Mine had HUGE leaves when I got it, then it grew tall with smaller leaves, Pretty sure it wasn't getting enough light. Does anyone have tips on getting larger leaves? Regular pruning maybe?
Mine began doing the same. Will be watching for responses, as well!
Wait! You're on IG?! Is that one also called owls eye?
Yes, I'm on IG as Peggys_Plants. It could be called owls eyes, but I've never heard it referred to as such. Thanks for watching!
Have you ever tried to propagate? I have separated this plant to give to a friend. However. The stalls that I have , have become leggy. So I am going to try and propagate 🤞🏽🤞🏽
I'm actually in the process of doing that now. I have one in water waiting for roots. I have another section without roots and am not sure how I want to proceed. Good luck!
I am trying to propagate myself. I have roots 🙌🏽
I need this to partner with my Pilea pepperomoides
I've killed one of those too. Lol.
I am so excited that I ran across your channel. We are neighbors! Going to check out Mycrazyplantlife ❤️
Hi neighbor. Always nice meeting locals. Welcome to the plant family and thanks for watching!
