  • In this video I show how to fix a Ford with P1450 code - Fuel System excess Pressure code (Unable to Bleed Fuel Tank Vaccum). The Purge valve needs to be replaced, they come attached with many hoses, so all of them need to be replaced. Different FORD's have different Purge Valve's in the engine bay, slightly different replacement technique, but overall same concept.

    I did that a few months back, and yeah, this job is a giant pain just because of that one connector. I couldn't get the new one to snap on, just too tight of a space to get enough leverage. I ended up getting it started and them got a bout a 14" flat headed screwdriver with a wide, flat head and pushed against the connector leering against the alternator. A few pushes and it snapped on fully. That saved me some scrapes and scratches. This job still leaves you a little bloody though; that connector is really in an awful spot and you have to job your arm against some pretty sharp stuff like those little hose clamps.

  • @fergusferguson4782

    You can actually take the genuine Ford part apart. It is two components zip tied together. The hose that goes to the bottom of the engine is just a hose, and shouldn't need replacing at all. The valve is on the other part. The only difficult thing about replacing that is getting the two nuts off down on the right side of the engine to get the retaining bracket off.

    Just cut off the small 5 inch plastic line from valve and replace with rubber fuel rated tubing and you won’t need to disconnect the connections near the alternator and at the lower intake manifold.

    Holy shit this was hard to do. The bottom left one was so hard to get to. I ended up breaking the clips with a flathead screwdriver to get it off. Almost no room for a hand down there. Be careful of your AC pipes as well. BUT No more rough idles in the morning after the car was sitting overnight. Only time will tell if the check engine light will turn off since I don't have a way to clear the code. 2016 Fusion 2.0T SE AWD.

      @CameronKyle Před 3 lety

      if you believe that was the cause of the problem and you fixed it, then you can clear the code with an OBD reader. if it is infact that issue the light wont turn back on but if it does turn back on after driving a couple miles then the problem is something else. OBD readers are very inexpensive ($10-$20) and great to have in the trunk for peace of mind.

      Save yourself a lot of hassle. Cut the tube that goes from the valve to the tubing manifold. Chuck all that new tubing after cutting the tube to the valve off. I made both cuts on the short length of tubing between the two 45 degree elbows. Take off the old valve, then connect the old, still in place tubing manifold to the new valve with a short piece of hose (I used a piece if gas line hose and two clamps. The rest of the tubing manifold has no moving parts inside and just moves air or vapor. I covered my “hacker connection” with a short piece of the corrugated plastic tubing protector from that larger diameter tube that is so hard to get at its connector. Looks “factory”

    I have the same exact problem and I suppose to put my car in the shop Monday. My question is do it have anything to do with the fuel delivery pump, fuel injection pump, fuel injectors or any metal fuel delivery lines? I’m asking this question because I don’t want to be responsible for paying for something other than the fuel system itself. Please help

    • @JJCentral-DIY
      @JJCentral-DIY  Před 3 lety +2

      In theory it could be any of those, but starting with the cheapest part and going up makes sense. In that order, charcoal canister valve, then these purge valve hoses, then the fuel filter and fuel pump makes sense.

    • @mattevans1643

      You can just get the valve and use a heat gun to soften the hosing. Pull out and put new part it. The valve is like $25 on Amazon. The Part is cu5a-9g886-aa
      You really don’t need to buy the entire hosing assembly. I just did this when my check engine came on and said the purge valve was faulty. Known problem with fords.
