1 - This was more shocking then my no.2 only because this happened first in 2017 and in sf2 I was expecting a shock. I understand now why it didn’t qualify but at the time hardly anyone thought this wouldn’t qualify. I didn’t think a non - qualification would ever get as shocking as Iceland 2016 but I was wrong. It’s not that I adore this song, I just thought that the juries would place this in the top 3, maybe even 2nd & thought there would be a lot of support from the public. Not as much but enough to see it qualify and to find out afterwards that it was the other way around and that the public qualified it and the juries placed this 20 points behind 10th ending in 12th place with them. It was just so shocking, I remember staying up till the morning hours in a private Eurovision group analysing this. Like I said, I kinda understand it now but not at the time. 2 - This is my 2nd favourite Eurovision song of all time & my favourite of the 21st century. After SF1 I was prepared for a huge shock but not this. I’m happy the public placed it 6th but the juries. I will never forgive them. In what universe was San Marino the only song worse then this? Even Lithuania placed higher with them. It’s disgusting. In one way though the non - qualification just adds to the drama of the Romeo & Juliet heartbreak story. 3 - This was a true WTF just happened moment. Even if the staging wasn’t as slick as the national final performance, this was quality enough to qualify. I will forever be in shock over its non - qualification and it didn’t even come close. It was closer to being last then 10th. Even though no bad songs qualified in this semi, I would have still placed it in the top 10. 4 - The staging to be honest was a let down for me. They didn’t bring the summer vibes as they did in the music video but as it’s Poland I was so sure this was going to qualify with ease. I thought this would be like Michal 2016, the juries not qualifying it but the public would have enough points to see it through but even the public only placed it 10th.a huge shock. 5 - This was amazing. It had a huge LGBTQ following & I’m still in shock over it. This was my 6th fav of 2015 and should have defo qualified over Cyprus and maybe Poland & Azerbaijan at least. 6 - My jaw fell to the ground (like all of my top 9) when this wasn’t called out as a qualifier, I was never going to not have this in my top 10 predictions. It’s crazy. 7 - Israel in 2013 & 2014 deserved to qualify. Maybe cos Mei was a shouty woman and juries don’t tend to vote for them much was a turn off, but the public didn’t even go for it. Only 5 songs missed out in this semi and this was one of them WTF 8 - I just don’t get it. I think it’s laughable how Armenia qualified over this master piece. Just a stunning performance. 9 - so shocked about this. I think the rap put juries off, but it did qualify with the public. Maybe there was too much going on & the message didn’t come across. This deserved to qualify. I love the song. 10 - I was so sure this was going to qualify. Looking back now, I’m happy it didn’t 11- come on, it’s Sweden. That alone was enough for everyone to place it in their top 10 predictions. 12 - I really liked this even when the fandom didn’t but before the rehearsals, I thought this would just miss out however, on the night. They got it together and it was a great performance. Hungary defo deserved the qualification but thought this would have done better over Slovenia & Serbia. 13 - I was caught up in that bubble as well. Looking back now it’s clear this wouldn’t qualify but I just loved it enough to not see it through the eyes of the fandom. 14 - Magical, Mystical and Mysterious but beautiful as well. I was praying this would qualify. I had a lot of faith in this even though they didn’t have a great history. The song deserved to qualify. Esp. over Armenia ugh. 15 - I hadn’t paid much attention to this before Eurovision week but on the night when I saw the staging, I was so happy & it made my list of 10 qualifications on the night. 16 - Even though Slovakia hadn’t qualified before, I thought the public & juries would like this enough to vote big for it. I’m still sad about this. 17 - Such a shame this didn’t qualify. A simple but catchy song. 18 - I loved this performance. This grew on me. The song is bad, but the staging was phenomenal and memorable. 19 - In 2013 Serbia had done so well at Eurovision and were beloved I just thought this would sail through. The national final performance was much better as they portrayed the song better, but most voters hadn’t even seen that. 20 - It was Armenia, catchy, camp song. This was a winner. They always did well up to this point. Didn’t see this missing out. It’s not that good of a song now but at the time. I loved it. 21 - Beautiful song, I didn’t think this had any chance of missing out on the final. Sadly, this semi was full of amazing songs and none of their main voters. Serbia, Bosnia. FYR Macedonia and Albania were in semi - final 1. 22 - So sad about this, I loved this song from the first time I heard it even though the rest of the fandom were disappointed, but momentum was growing with this to qualify when the rehearsal clips were shown and let’s not forget, Azerbaijan had a 100% qualification record up to this point so, I thought that would have helped as well. I think if this was on later, it would have qualified. I predicted before that Finland & Azerbaijan would finish 10th & 11th. 1 would scrape through and they kinda sound familiar. I thought Azerbaijan would get that last spot & Saara would just miss out, but it was the other way around. 23 - Just a great song and thought this would have qualified over Hungary. The 2 songs sounded quite similar to me and whenever I think of one, I automatically think o the other. 24 - I thought this was a great comeback & was worthy of a place in the final. 25 - once again the staging let it down but like many songs, I thought the love of the song before Eurovision would be powerful enough to see it through. 26 - Staging was poor, but Belgium had been doing so good lately. 2013, 2015 & 2016 so I thought the public would get behind her and thought she would be rewarded by the juries as well. 27 - This was just so much fun. I didn’t love it at the time as much as I do now, but it was such a fun song. And thought this would qualify over Montenegro & San Marino. 28 - Juri is smouldering and sexy & thought the James bond theme song would see it though but not do very well in the final. 29 - This is what Eurovision is all about and I want these crazy songs to come back and not just have all Spotify, radio friendly songs do well cos of the juries. Even though I didn’t love this as much as the fandom, I thought this was fun enough to qualify. Esp. when it was quite a weak semi. 30 - This was a huge fan favourites and one of the favs to win the entire contest. I didn’t think this was going to be missed out. Looking back now, it wasn’t good enough to qualify but at the time, I was caught up in that bubble. 31 - This was a weird one cos normally publicity doesn’t have much of an impact on results but on the night, I thought the lack of exposure of this song would be its downfall, but I still thought that this could have qualified. 32 - The staging wasn’t the best, they should have had the staging from the National Final, but Tamara was amazing. There was room in the final and even though (along with Albania) the staging was a let-down, I didn’t dismiss this and could have still qualified. 33 - I weren’t the biggest fan of this song and the staging was bad but it’s still Greece and I thought it could qualify for that alone but I’m happy it didn’t as it was a bad package. 34 - The song isn’t that good, I didn’t think it had any chance before the semi, but the staging really impressed me when I watched it. I thought this was going to be the shock qualifier of the year. Maybe if it was on later it would have. 35 - The song wasn’t strong but come on, it’s Dana International and thought the name alone would see her through. I was really shocked on the night cos I thought they would save her until last to be called but no. 36 - The staging let this down but as Moldova and Russia were voting in this semi, I thought this could sneak in. Looking back now, it was kinda obvious it wouldn’t. 37 - What a voice. The staging let this down, so I was less optimistic about it’s qualification but I still thought that this had a chance. 38 - Such a great ethnic song. The LED was fantastic, It’s the sort of song which I thought would do a lot better. 39 - Another song I loved before the contest, but I was let down by the staging, but I thought that once again a singer with a great voice and a song liked by the fans could have been enough to see it through. 40 - I didn’t want this to qualify as I thought it was dated but not nostalgic, but I knew her voice would be loved by the juries & her Eurovision legacy would do well with the voters to see it sneak through, but no. 41 - They got the staging wrong however I thought the love of this song pre-Eurovision would see it through, just like Belgium City Lights. 42 - I thought this would just sneak in to 10th place. It is one of my favourite songs now however, at the time I was less convinced then the fandom. 43 - This was a fun entry and I thought the public would vote hard for this enough to see it through. 44 - This wasn’t very loved in the fan community HOWEVER, when I saw the rehearsal. I was really touched by it. Not as much as the national final but it still gave me Goosebumps & I thought her voice would make her a big hit with the juries and it did, sadly however, the public didn’t understand
Is Armenia your least favorite of 2013? 😂 Thanks for appreciating Romania 2018 and I agree Hungary deserved it but Romania should’ve qualified instead of Slovenia.
Greece not qualifying was a real bummer this year. It was one of my absolute favourites. Same goes for Belgium, even though I admit that both songs did come across better in the videos than in the live performances and that's what counts in the end.
My opinion: 5. Israel 2013. 4. Czech Republic 2015. 3. San Marino 2013. For me "Vola" is better than "Maybe" 2. Switzerland 2017. 😔 One of my favourite in 2017. 1. Greece 2018. 😢💔💔 That was my favourite song this year 😢 I love it!
ESC Lisa Germany yup. Switzerland is one of the most underrated countries these years. And I loved this Switzerland's song this year so much, the music, the lyrics, the performance, and most of all, the message. I was surprised that it didn't make it to the final
Blackbird by Norma John is in my top 10 Eurovision songs of all time. I was certain it was going to win the final by a huge margin. I am still in shock that it didn’t even qualify.
I agree. It's a shame, because the song really did have potential. It is a common problem with Eurovision that the performers cannot hear their own voice correctly when they are on stage and that makes hitting the right notes almost impossible. It is true for about half the entries in this list (unless the artists really can't sing, which I seriously doubt, because they all have been picked to be there ... it is not like the first round of a casting show or something) I am surprised that this happens so often in an event that big.
@@MissyLaMotte I was there for all performances live, and yes, there was a lot of technical and sounds engineering issues. But Poland actually sounded terrible live even in national selections
I Cried for : 2010 : Croatia, FYRMacedonia, Switzerland, Slovakia 2011 : Bulgaria, FYRMacedonia, Norway, Poland, Albania, Belarus, Slovakia 2012 : Croatia, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Belarus and Bulgaria 2013 : Albania, Switzerland, San Marino, Austria, Israel, Bulgaria, Montenegro 2014 : Portugal, Israel, FYRMacedonia, Ireland 2015 : Belarus, FYRMacedonia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Iceland, Malta 2016 : Estonia, FYRMacedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Iceland, Belarus, Norway, Montenegro 2017 : Albania, Georgia, Finland, FYRMacedonia, Estonia, Latvia, Serbia 2018 : All Non - Qualifiers, expect Iceland, Russia and San Marino and especially i cried for Belgium, Greece (my country), Switzerland, Georgia, Montenegro, Romania and Belarus
Greece not qualifying for the finals 2018 was heartbreaking! I am not the biggets Eurovision devotee, atmitted, but I listened to this song pre-show and it really spoke to me. I kind of understand why it didn´t qualify when eatching the show; it was like the performance never came together and her vocalization was shaky, unfortunately - still heartbreaking though, it had so much potential!

50. Weird song. Not bad at all, but didn't deserve qualifying 49. He has a good voice, good song, good staging that camera shot looks AMAZING. Deserved qualifying 48. She's my 3rd of ESC 2017💖💖💖. Great staging, amazing song (sge didn't sing as bad as people usually say) 47. I love this song, it's fantastic. The staging is one of the best of 2018, Christabelle sings beautifully. Deserved top 5💖💖💖. 46. It's really lovely. Deserved top 10 45. Nice song, deserved qualifying 44. She's my winner of 2017💖💖💖💖. Claudia is one of the most talented singers I've ever heard. I don't understand why her song is so hated 43. I've always thought it's a joke song, because of the lyrics 42. Even if I don't understand anything, it's my winner of 2010💖💖💖. The performance was great 41. I don't understand why it is said that the staging looks bad. The song is called DANCE ALONE. Her vocals were actually good 40. Great song, Kaliopi is amazing💖 39. Deserved top 10. The song used to be my winner, but the performance was quite dull 38.Deserved top 3💖💖💖 At least she got a nice result in 2016 37.Awesome voice, but I don't like her song 36. Amazing, I still don't understand why it didn't qualify 35. I love this song, Dana is great. Deserved at least top 15. 34. I hate this one. Sorry😟 33. This song is epic. The staging looks amazing (I know I'm the only one who thinks this) 32.Strong voice, great song. It still gives me goosebumps 31. I love this song. Deserved top 10. 30. This song is lovely, but quite weird. Deserved qualifying anyway. 29. 4th (public)+ 14th (jury)= 12th place??? WTF Deserved qualifying 28. I don't like the song, but he's a good singer 27. The same than 28 26. Great song, although the staging was quite boring. Deserved qualifying. 25. One of the best songs of 2017, but the staging ruined it. Deserved top 10 24. It was a great song from the Czech Republic to return to the contest. Deserved at least top 15 23. Nice, but not enough to qualify in my opinion 22. MY WINNER OF 2018.💖💖💖💖💖💖 Amazing song, awesome staging, incredible singer. 21. Lovely song. Deserved top 15 20. Thank God this didn't qualify 19. Deserved qualifying, altough their clothes were the ugliest ones I've ever seen at Eurovision 18. Very underrated. The song is great, and the staging one of the best ones I've ever seen at Eurovision. Deserved top 20 at least 17. Weird but nice. Deserved qualifying 16. Another underrated song from Slovakia. My 2nd of that year💖💖💖 15. The song is one of my favourites of that year, and Dofi was simply amazing 14. The beautiful Valentina deserved winning this time💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 13. I simply love this. Deserved top 10 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 12. Very underrated by the Eurofans. The jury would have saved this. Deserved top 10💖💖💖💖 11. Deserved qualifying, but it's nothing special 10. Good song, but not enough to qualify in a semi final with lots of good songs 9. The same than 10 8. Great song, great voice. I still don't understand why Israel qualified in 2015 and 2017 but not in 2011, 2013 and 2014 7. The same than 8 6. Great voice, lovely song, AMAZING dance. Deserved top 10 5. Again, an underrated song from Malta worthy enough to win 4. Terrible voice, cheap song. I thought it would qualify anyway 3. Greta Salome is always very underrated at Eurovision. Igeland deserved top 10 in 2016 and 2017: great songs, great singers, amazing staging (2016) 2. Great song, although the guy staring at the camera made it look weird 1. Amazing song, I really love it.💖💖💖💖 Better than Portugal
Soraya Gabriela Pérez Zambrano Poland in 2018 cheap song? XD i agree with the voice, but the song is well produced and audio sounds really expensive... It’s EDM song, not Disco Polo - that one is cheap as kurwa
Unbreakable and Help you Fly are actually one of my fevourite Euro-songs... it's so sad they didn't qualify And I seee somehow Switzerland and Belarus almost neveer qualify
My top 5 non-qualifiers of all time (that should have qualified) 1. San Marino 2013 (She was the best In semi final two. She was my second that year. A perfect song, a perfect person, a perfect singer, a perfect language. Everything is pure and amazing) 2. Finland 2017 (What a Masterpiece!!!!! This was perfect. I was so happy that you put it first. It was way better than the winner that year) 3. Switzerland 2018 (I am not fan of the songs like this, but this was perfect. Simply perfect. I loved from the first I heard it. I couldn't understand why it didn't go through) 4. Sweden 2010 ( It is one of the best Swedish entries. I couldn't understand why why. It was something different from Sweden and It didn't qualify. I am speechless) 5. Something old Monaco 2005 (Amazing song. My 4th that year. What a classic background. What a magical song. One of the most Underrated and robbed songs of all time) Edit: After one month list has changed!!!! My 3rd place is for Latvia 2018!!!!!!!! So 3-5 go one place lower!
love the fact you choose songs of decent quality instead of bad songs with an 'amazing'' performances. It is a shame that good songs are already gone before the final.
Shokers: Malta - Taboo (revamp was so strong) Ireland - Et Cetera SLOVAKIA - HOREHRONIE!!! (still can't get over this not qualifying) The Netherlands - Walk Alone Bulgaria - Na Inat Belarus - Time Moldova - I want your love Greece - Oniro Mou Norway - Icebreaker Norway - Haba Haba (such a lovely song) Estonia - Play (Jüri 🤗) Switzerland - Apollo (wtf Europe?! it was so close to qualifying ) Armenia - Boom Boom (guilty pleasure song 🤣) Serbia - Ljubav je svuda Belarus - Help you Fly (Ivan for the win - he needs to come back) Slovakia - I'm still Alive (such a catchy song) Bulgaria - Love Unlimited ( the vocal range of that Woman!!!) Bosnia&Herzegovina - Ljubav je (love love peace peace ❤️) Israel - Same Heart (♥️♥️😍) Estonia - Amazing (yup that was such a shame it didn't qualify , song was so upbeat) Poland - Light me up (dance partyyy)
I actually think that semifinal results of Eurovision are pretty much obvious once you watch the live performances. The only shocking non-qualifier in Eurovision history was Finland 2017.
I didn’t realize how many of these have ended up in my permanent playlist over the years... Goes to show that there are a lot of amazing non-qualifiers out there ✨
50: meh 49: meh 48: deserved at least top 20 47: deserved final 46: horrible 45: ok, but non for final 44: meh 43: deserved final 42: overrated by fans, final deserved 41: deserved top 10 :( 40: deserved final 39: meh 38: overrated by fans 37: okay, but not for final 36: overrated by fans 35: deserved final 34: horrible, the worst in 2015 33: deserved final, instead Finland 32: good, but not for final 31: deserved top 15 30: deserved final 29: deserved top 10 28: meh 27: deserved qualification 26: deserved final 25: deserved top 15 24: deserved final 23: good, deserved final 22: okay song, nor final this year 21: meh 20: meh 19: deserved final 18: meh 17: meh 16: deserved final 15: okay, but not for final 14: deserved top 15 13: omg, this deserved top 5 12: meh 11: horrible 10: horrible too 9: deserved final 8: meh 7: deserved top 10 6: horrible 5: deserved final 4: very bad live, meh 3: it deserved to win! 2: deserved final 1: good, but not for final
Great list, many good songs that were unfortunate here, and I especially agree when it comes to "Verona". But one song that angered me didn't go to the final was Latvias "Cake to Bake" in 2014. That song made me smile and made me in good spirit. I still love that song.
Austria 2013, Macedonia 2016 & 2017 and Greece 2018 are, for me, the most shocking ones. Specially Macedonia 2016, because I'm half Macedonian and because of the song and the meaning it has for me, and for the singer.
They ultimate true. Oh, god, my cute Romania. Belgium, Israel, Greece, Finland, Norway, Moldova. My heart. NON QUALIFICATED!!! DARK EVIL ARE NOT EUROVISION!
My personal top 30 favorite NQs from this era (in a very loose order, as I think all of them are great, and should have qualified): 30. Cyprus 2013 29. Moldova 2016 28. Latvia 2018 27. North Macedonia 2017 26. Israel 2013 25. Moldova 2014 24. Croatia 2010 23. Estonia 2010 22. Finland 2012 21. Israel 2014 20. Belarus 2009 19. Switzerland 2017 18. Slovakia 2009 17. Malta 2017 16. Switzerland 2018 15. Greece 2018 14. Switzerland 2012 13. Poland 2010 12. Norway 2016 11. Slovenia 2012 10. Portugal 2012 9. Belgium 2018 8. Slovakia 2010 7. Ireland 2017 6. Czech Republic 2015 5. Montenegro 2018 4. Ireland 2015 3. San Marino 2013 2. Estonia 2016 1. Finland 2017
OK for Belgium 2018 - San Marino 2013 (better than all Valentina's entries) - Switzerland 2017 and Estonia 2017 (still a favourite for me) - Malta 2018 - Georgia 2017 - Portugal 2013 (better than some songs in the final) and Belarus 2016.
50. Too weird for me. So creepy. Seriously 49. That song is amazing. Should have qualified 48. This song is too good for Eurovision 47. Highly dislike this song 46. Lovely song but she didn’t hit one note right 45. Love this song 😍😍 44. Perfect staging vocals etc. Should have qualified 43. A song about patriotism. That should be automatic 42. My winner 2010 41. I would be shocked if 48, 39!!, 30, 20!!, 16, 11, 10!!!, 4, 2 would have qualified, seriously all these song were so bad (30, 20, 16, 11) or the live was very bad (48, 39, 4, 2), and then there is Umbroken which was a total mess. I really love some of these but live was not good (48, 36, 28, 26, 13) The biggest crimes are defenitely Israel 2013 and 2014, San Marino 2013, Norway 2016, Iceland 2016, Bulgaria 2012 and 2013. Switzerland 2018, Greece 2018, Malta 2015, Albania 2017. I don't like the song of Finland 2017 but the performance was amazing and they totally deserved to qualify.

I still can't get over those non qualifying: 2014: Portugal, Macedonia, Słowenia 2015: Belarus ♥ Moldova, Iceland ♥ Czech Republic, Montenegro ♥ Ireland 2016: Norway! ♥ Belarus ♥ 2017: Estonia ♥ Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland ♥ Finland, Ireland 2018: Belarus (again 😢) ♥ Greece, Macedonia, Croatia ♥ Switzerland, Latvia, Malta ♥ Belgium, Poland. 2018 so far was in my opinion the worst year, because many great songs didn't qualify. And Cyprus didn't win. She was the best for me.
I agree with most of your choices, of course I would change places. For sure, my number one would be Stella Mwanga and her Haba Haba, she regrets that she did not win the competition in 2011. I did not have a song from Latvia in 2018, it would be very high for me. The biggest positive surprise is place 50.
I'm still angry about Blackbird! Also I can't believe you didn't have Macedonia 2018 with 'Lost and Found' (although the staging was a total mess, the song is one of my all time favourites from 2018 and I still listen to it on a regular basis)
Imagine for one second if all of these 50 songs had just qualified. Then we'd have 50 new songs that would probably be WAY more shocking non-qualifiers than these. So I don't really think «shocking non-qualifiers» is the right term to use on most of these songs.. imagine if like salvador sobral hadn't qualified in 2017. Now THAT would have been a shocking non-qualifier.
Horehronie, Igranka, Crisalide, Sofi Marinova, Marta & Vaclav, Svala, Triana Park, Ich Troje, Samo Shampioni, Balthazar and Deep Zone, Filipa Sousa, Eduard Romanyuta, Melanie Rene, Alekseev I love it!
2017 Slovenia, 2015 Czechia, 2010 Slovakia were the main 3 that should have qualified. 2017 Estonia would have qualified if they sang it in Italian. 2017 was a year where the bad ones qualified and the good songs failed to qualify. Of the top 10 in the finals, only 4 were good. While 5 that didn't qualify were far better (Slovenia, Estonia, Serbia, Finland, Macedonia) all could have been top 10. My order in 2017 would have been Winner Moldova, 2: Romania, 3, Italy,4 Slovenia, 5 Estonia, 6 Azerbaijan, 7 Isreal, 8 Macedonia, 9 France, 10.Sweden...Portugal I had at 27th.
Most shocking for me Serbia 2017: l thought they would have enough allies to pass them through Macedonia 2017: I thought the song itself would be strong enough to pull it through Albania 2017: I thought the juries would love her voice Israel 2011: Its DANA, how could a winner not qualify Greece 2018: I thought its allies and the song would be enough to push it in Norway 2016: this was in everyone’s list Norway 2011: huge favorite Montenegro 2013: so unique Estonia 2016: looking back it was an easy non qualifier, but I loved it Portugal 2014: so fun in such a ballad heavy semi Belgium 2018: I thought the juries would love it, plus they had a good streak Azerbaijan 2018: it’s Azerbaijan but if they were to fail it was now or never Armenia 2011: it’s Armenia Serbia 2013: its Serbia plus they performed last Switzerland 2013: it was so sweet and was towards the end of the show Slovakia 2011: it was a solid song San Marino 2013: such a good song and fan favorite Latvia 2017: performing last and so fun, I expected to hear Latvia more than Belgium at the end Romania 2018; its Romania, but if they were to fail it was now or never Sweden 2010: so good, that’s what they get for sending something non generic ? Bosnia Herzegovina 2016: their streak was impeccable but if they were to fail it was now or never Israel 2014: fan favorite Malta 2015: o thought the juries would overrate it like in 2014: Poland 2018: I thought they’d do much better with the televote Iceland 2016: everyone expected this to qualify Estonia 2017: fanwank Finland 2017: fanwank I would add Armenia and Switzerland 2018
2010 Poland failed to qualify thanks to the last 30 seconds of that song, (The chorography in the end looked very weird, looked like a r-pe scene). Had the chorography been the same as what he did in the National Final I think it would qualified. 2010 Croatia, I think was a slower song than others in that Semi final. 2012 Netherlands would have been considered a cultural crime in the USA (Attitudes of Native American headdresses must be different in Europe) 2013 Switzerland I think failed because the old guy looked sincerely lost. 2017 Estonia-additional note, they made the same mistake that 2004 Slovenia made, too much flirting and non word notes.
Nice Video. From those i was shocked(mostly) with 1.Swiss 2012 Sinplus.2.Israel 2011 Mei and most of all Finland 2017 blackbird(i was crying for this).I loved the Greek song last year but live she killed it with a very bad stage appearance.
50. What? I would be shocked if it would have qualified xDDDD 49. Kinda... 48. So bad vocals and performing first, so not surprising 47. Yeah amazing performance... I also thought she would qualify 46. Ahm idk maybe 45. Deserved to qualify definitely 44. Not shocking at all, many hated it :/ 43. What?? Worst vocal performance ever xDDDD 42. Yeah... Especially because it has so many views now... But it's Slovakia, back then politics did a bigger role than now 41. I am not shocked somehow 40. Not shocked again xD 39. Terrible staging 38. Yeah especially because everyone is hyping her after 2016. For me personally this is even better 37. I thought her voice alone would make it qualify 36. Vocals could be better 35. It's DANA INTERNATIONAL so yeah 34. Underrated definitely 33. For most of people staging was dull... But kinda agree. And it deserved to qualify so much 💙 32. Again not shocking but deserved to qualify 31. Yes yes yes agree! 30. Ehhh nothing shocking at all 29. For me worst song ever ughhh I am happy it didn't qualify. But still OVERRATED XDDDDDD 28. Yeah last place how :O 27. So underrated 26. I feel so bad for her and Belgium 😭😭😭😭😭 and dont understand why people complain about staging 25. Expected with that staging AND it's Switzerland... And the song isnt too special 24. Yeah :/ 23. So underrated definitely 22. Song is generic, but as it's Azerbaijan I also thought it would qualify 21. Idk not surprising 20. Song is just too simple 19. Yes agree 18. Performance was great, but I didn't think it would qualify though 17. Soooo bland 16. So bland and it's Slovakia 15. Yeah it's so unique 💙💙💙💙 I guess staging was too empty for some 14. Its San Marino and 'only' 2nd time for Valentina so xD 13. As being loved by fans, performing last and having this bright staging yeah 12. Kinda... I feel sad for Romania 11. Biggest crime ever omg 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 10. She was so nervous... I am fine with that and love it, but others werent it seems 9. Ehhhh 8. Nothing shicking 7. Yes yes yes omg 6. Nothing shocking at all and I never was a fan 5. Yeah I was so sad back then when Malta didn't qualify 4. Bad vocals so... But kinda shocking still 3. Yeah 2. Too bland I guess.... But underrated 😭 1. Yes yes omg 😭😭😭😭 Great video! 💙💙💙💙💙 I don't agree with everything but still :D
Do you happen to be 6 years old Beautiful ballad: uugh who cares Horrible badly produced pop song with a bad singer: 👌🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️😍🥰🥳🤩🤩 OH MA GAWD SO GOOD LITERALY ROBBED LIKE
FYROM last year was a shocker. I really liked her and the song. Netherlands 2018 and Greece 2018 though the worst decisions, both were in my top 3 of all songs that year.
2010: Slovakia, Sweden, Croatia 2011: Norway, Armenia, Bulgaria, Israel 2012: just Slovenia tbh 2013: Serbia, San Marino, Israel 2014: Israel (big shock) , Ireland 2015: very easy to predict year, got 19/20 qualifiers that year, my best score ever, only mistaked Malta qualifying over Poland. And yes I had predicted Iceland not qualifying and Cyprus making it. It was very obvious to me in rehearsals. 2016: Iceland and Norway 2017: Finland, Latvia, Estonia 2018: Belgium, Greece, Poland So 22 songs in 18 semis were shocking non qualifiers to me. And to think that the shocking non qualifiers rarely are the 11th placed country. The most shocking though would be Israel 2014, Finland 2017, Iceland 2016. Though I gotta say, on the night of the first semifinal of Eurovision 2016, I was watching with my mom, uncle and grandma (who were listening for the first time) and none of them actually enjoyed Iceland.
Soraya Gabriela Pérez Zambrano I'm actually not sure because it was so long ago but people at home couldn't vote, I think they left it up to the juries for some reason
Based from this timeperiod, there is alot of good songs that didnt make it to the final, and what I think is that many of these songs needed a second listening. Ofcourse there’s not a thing as a second performance But I think it would change alot of the results in many of these years. Anyway, Im not sure about My top 10, 5 or whatever, But what I Can say is that I have two important songs in My life that didnt make it to the final. The first one is The Lovebugs from Switzerland 2009, and the second one is the 3JS from The Netherlands 2011. Especially 3JS song had a HUGE impact on My life, and I just hope someday that Jan Dulles actually know that his song Never Alone Isnt just a last placing song in eurovision, Im sure Im not the only one on the planet that has enjoyed that song after the contest. Im sure all of you have Your songs that didnt make it to the final. Dont forget that this competition is a mixture between song and show, and it has alot to do with the starting positioning. These songs are still amazing!
My shocking non-qualifires 2015 Malta, Belarus, Iceland and Moldova 2016 Iceland, Belarus, Estonia and Denmark 2017 Macedonia, Latvia, Switzerland and Estonia 2018 Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Malta, Macedonia and Moldova
Only 5 songs missed out in this semi and this was one of them WTF
8 - I just don’t get it.
Looking back now, I’m happy it didn’t
11- come on, it’s Sweden.
I agree with your poll all these songs got robbed
Karl Compton Agreed, with #12 especially!
Is Armenia your least favorite of 2013? 😂
Thanks for appreciating Romania 2018 and I agree Hungary deserved it but Romania should’ve qualified instead of Slovenia.
Poland’s (4) voice was just weak 🥴
I wonder how 2010 poland got on the list.
Finland 2017 not qualifying is one of the worst crimes in history
Greece not qualifying was a real bummer this year. It was one of my absolute favourites. Same goes for Belgium, even though I admit that both songs did come across better in the videos than in the live performances and that's what counts in the end.
My opinion:
5. Israel 2013.
4. Czech Republic 2015.
3. San Marino 2013. For me "Vola" is better than "Maybe"
2. Switzerland 2017. 😔 One of my favourite in 2017.
1. Greece 2018. 😢💔💔 That was my favourite song this year 😢 I love it!
Anđela Ranđelović Thanks for your support! Greetings from Greece!
@Stefysdance ツ *Yes I liled it so much and I also liled the other so much*
Finland 2017 was not a shock it was a crime
Not really. Verona was most shocking
It could the best song in this video and you say...
@@alvid9612 yeah no verona was an expected NQ
Wth its a good song but Finland 2006 was much better
*I love wiwibloggs*
Switzerland 2018?! Switzerland nearly every Year 😂😏
ESC Lisa Germany yup. Switzerland is one of the most underrated countries these years. And I loved this Switzerland's song this year so much, the music, the lyrics, the performance, and most of all, the message. I was surprised that it didn't make it to the final
Does anyone else feel sad watching most of these amazing songs that were lost in the semis 😭
Joining You!
Very
It's part of the game 😉
So the jury doesn't like:
·Dubstep
·when they don't sing in English
·when they reference other cultures that aren't their own
Blackbird by Norma John is in my top 10 Eurovision songs of all time. I was certain it was going to win the final by a huge margin. I am still in shock that it didn’t even qualify.
Sad Switzerland 2018 isn’t here, but I can get in with my life
Zibbz? Stones?? SWITZERLAND??? Oh... okay then :( good list none the less
justice for BLACKBIRD!
Blackbird is the best song we have ever sent 😢 thank you for giving it the 1st place ❤️
Jenni ihmiset kuulema kehu sitä paljon nii oli aika jännä et se ei päässy jatkoon
I don't get why Poland 2018 was shocking. It was a decent song sung terribly, I don't think he hit one single note right!
I from Poland and ikr he sang terible
@Malgorzata Stachowska well it sounded terrible on the video and it sounded not so good in Portugal either.
The vocals was a DISASTER

Where is Macedonia 2016?
@@jesusangeldr49
Noooo for me this is an excepted non-qualifier
Greece not qualifying for the finals 2018 was heartbreaking! I am not the biggets Eurovision devotee, atmitted, but I listened to this song pre-show and it really spoke to me. I kind of understand why it didn´t qualify when eatching the show; it was like the performance never came together and her vocalization was shaky, unfortunately - still heartbreaking though, it had so much potential!
I’m from Finland and I agree with #1 so much, Norma was amazing!
Montenegro is most underrated country of Eurovision.
2018 Non Qualifiers songs are better then Eurovision 2018 winner.

6. Great voice, lovely song, AMAZING dance. Deserved top 10
5. Again, an underrated song from Malta worthy enough to win
4. Terrible voice, cheap song. I thought it would qualify anyway
3. Greta Salome is always very underrated at Eurovision. Igeland deserved top 10 in 2016 and 2017: great songs, great singers, amazing staging (2016)
2. Great song, although the guy staring at the camera made it look weird
You aren't the only one who liked the staging of Greek song.. It also likes me, but I am from Greece.. Is my opinion valid? 😁😁
Yeaah 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 you are RİGHT ☺️😎
Unbreakable and Help you Fly are actually one of my fevourite Euro-songs... it's so sad they didn't qualify
And I seee somehow Switzerland and Belarus almost neveer qualify
Omg so many here like Finland 2017 so thank youu 🙏🏻🙏🏻
For me Spain, France, UK, Italy and Germany should take part in qualification... It will be more chance for songs who are deserved final..
Belarus 2012 and Switzerland 2018 were quite shocking too.
Iceland not qualifying in 2016 was a crime.
Then again, Iceland not qualifying in 2015 was understandable.
Mei Finegold I loved the song so much. Still in my playlist 👌🏼👍🏼
My top 5 non-qualifiers of all time (that should have qualified)
1. San Marino 2013 (She was the best In semi final two. She was my second that year. A perfect song, a perfect person, a perfect singer, a perfect language. Everything is pure and amazing)
2. Finland 2017 (What a Masterpiece!!!!! This was perfect. I was so happy that you put it first. It was way better than the winner that year)
3. Switzerland 2018 (I am not fan of the songs like this, but this was perfect. Simply perfect. I loved from the first I heard it. I couldn't understand why it didn't go through)
4. Sweden 2010 ( It is one of the best Swedish entries. I couldn't understand why why. It was something different from Sweden and It didn't qualify. I am speechless)
5. Something old
Monaco 2005 (Amazing song. My 4th that year. What a classic background. What a magical song. One of the most Underrated and robbed songs of all time)
Edit: After one month list has changed!!!! My 3rd place is for Latvia 2018!!!!!!!!
So 3-5 go one place lower!
Switzerland 2015 and 2018, Belgium, Greece 2018, Croatia and Slovakia 2010, Bosnia and Iceland 2016 ❤️
Finland 2017 😔💛🇫🇮
army!!!
And Belarus 2018 with Alekseev OMG! I LOVE HIS MUSIC! :(
love the fact you choose songs of decent quality instead of bad songs with an 'amazing'' performances. It is a shame that good songs are already gone before the final.
Shokers:
Malta - Taboo (revamp was so strong)
Ireland - Et Cetera
SLOVAKIA - HOREHRONIE!!! (still can't get over this not qualifying)
The Netherlands - Walk Alone
Bulgaria - Na Inat
Belarus - Time
Moldova - I want your love
Greece - Oniro Mou
Norway - Icebreaker
Norway - Haba Haba (such a lovely song)
Estonia - Play (Jüri 🤗)
Switzerland - Apollo (wtf Europe?! it was so close to qualifying )
Armenia - Boom Boom (guilty pleasure song 🤣)
Serbia - Ljubav je svuda
Belarus - Help you Fly (Ivan for the win - he needs to come back)
Slovakia - I'm still Alive (such a catchy song)
Bulgaria - Love Unlimited ( the vocal range of that Woman!!!)
Bosnia&Herzegovina - Ljubav je (love love peace peace ❤️)
Israel - Same Heart (♥️♥️😍)
Estonia - Amazing (yup that was such a shame it didn't qualify , song was so upbeat)
Poland - Light me up (dance partyyy)
Wow, Finland could have won 2017 with that song °·°
YES! Finland was ROBBED in 2017! Arguably one of the most beautiful ballads in Eurovision history!
Azerbaijan 2018 is very beautiful
Thanks a lot !!!!!
I'm from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿
#4 hear the focals.
Romania 2018 was one of the most undeserved NQ-ers for me since it was a weak semi and the song+performance were good.
Switzwrland 2013 ''You and me'' was my winner for that year, i still love that song ❤
Great to hear those songs again, their are an amazing songs no doubt
I actually think that semifinal results of Eurovision are pretty much obvious once you watch the live performances. The only shocking non-qualifier in Eurovision history was Finland 2017.
I didn’t realize how many of these have ended up in my permanent playlist over the years... Goes to show that there are a lot of amazing non-qualifiers out there ✨
Bulgaria 2011 is the biggest crime!
But Greece&Azerbaijan 2018 was also
Finland´s still playing on my Playlist. FOREVER..

3. Moldova 2015
4. Belarus 2015
5. Bulgaria 2011
Very good video!!!
Great list, many good songs that were unfortunate here, and I especially agree when it comes to "Verona". But one song that angered me didn't go to the final was Latvias "Cake to Bake" in 2014. That song made me smile and made me in good spirit. I still love that song.
Much Love From Romania❤️
Austria 2013, Macedonia 2016 & 2017 and Greece 2018 are, for me, the most shocking ones. Specially Macedonia 2016, because I'm half Macedonian and because of the song and the meaning it has for me, and for the singer.
north!
Azerbaijan 2018 is the biggest shock for me because it's our first time
Yes. I hope that Mata Hari will qualify. 👍🇦🇿
Greetings from Baku, Azerbaijan 🇦🇿
Anna Bergendahl 2010 and Norma John 2017 were fantastic and my favourites of these years.
I don't like the other 48..
Number one - Lindita. She should have won.
They ultimate true.
Oh, god, my cute Romania.

I'm from Poland and i loved our 2018 song but Lukas sang in horribly during the eliminations. No wonder we didn't get to the finals.
Verona was my fav song in 2017
Malta 2017- didn't qualify.
Me : that wasn't shcocking.

22. Sadly, this is a good song that didn’t qualify.
21. Not shocked at all.
20. Not shocked at all. Didn’t deserve it- too cheesy
19. Weird but good
18. TRAVESTY
17. Cheesy as!

6. This is also a masterpiece.
5. Amazing song
4. Good song but they were off key.
3. Icelandic GODDESS. I take back the previous statement

Belarus 2009
Bulgaria 2011
Albania 2017
Belgium 2018
Czech Republic 2015
Croatia 2010
Israel 2013
Finland 2017
I would be shocked if 48, 39!!, 30, 20!!, 16, 11, 10!!!, 4, 2 would have qualified, seriously all these song were so bad (30, 20, 16, 11) or the live was very bad (48, 39, 4, 2), and then there is Umbroken which was a total mess.
I really love some of these but live was not good (48, 36, 28, 26, 13)
The biggest crimes are defenitely Israel 2013 and 2014, San Marino 2013, Norway 2016, Iceland 2016, Bulgaria 2012 and 2013. Switzerland 2018, Greece 2018, Malta 2015, Albania 2017. I don't like the song of Finland 2017 but the performance was amazing and they totally deserved to qualify.

02. Verona - Koit Toome & Laura (Estonia 2017)
01. Blackbird - Norma John (Finland 2017)
My two biggest shocks were both in 2017 - Verona and Blackbird.
I still can't get over those non qualifying:
2014:
Portugal, Macedonia, Słowenia
2015:
Belarus ♥ Moldova, Iceland ♥ Czech Republic, Montenegro ♥ Ireland
2016:
Norway! ♥ Belarus ♥
2017:
Estonia ♥ Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland ♥ Finland, Ireland
2018:
Belarus (again 😢) ♥ Greece, Macedonia, Croatia ♥ Switzerland, Latvia, Malta ♥ Belgium, Poland.
2018 so far was in my opinion the worst year, because many great songs didn't qualify. And Cyprus didn't win. She was the best for me.
Azerbaijan 2018?
I agree with most of your choices, of course I would change places. For sure, my number one would be Stella Mwanga and her Haba Haba, she regrets that she did not win the competition in 2011. I did not have a song from Latvia in 2018, it would be very high for me. The biggest positive surprise is place 50.
Why Norway only 31th place?
If u think about it, FYR Macedonia has always sent good songs and is overhyped in the recent Eurovisions but all ended up not qualifieing💁🏻♀️
Wow too many good songs✌🏼
Horehronie, Igranka, Crisalide, Sofi Marinova, Marta & Vaclav, Svala, Triana Park, Ich Troje, Samo Shampioni, Balthazar and Deep Zone, Filipa Sousa, Eduard Romanyuta, Melanie Rene, Alekseev
I love it!
Most shocking for me
Serbia 2017: l thought they would have enough allies to pass them through
Macedonia 2017: I thought the song itself would be strong enough to pull it through
Albania 2017: I thought the juries would love her voice
Israel 2011: Its DANA, how could a winner not qualify
Greece 2018: I thought its allies and the song would be enough to push it in
Norway 2016: this was in everyone’s list
Norway 2011: huge favorite
Montenegro 2013: so unique
Estonia 2016: looking back it was an easy non qualifier, but I loved it
Portugal 2014: so fun in such a ballad heavy semi
Belgium 2018: I thought the juries would love it, plus they had a good streak
Azerbaijan 2018: it’s Azerbaijan but if they were to fail it was now or never
Armenia 2011: it’s Armenia
Serbia 2013: its Serbia plus they performed last
Switzerland 2013: it was so sweet and was towards the end of the show
Slovakia 2011: it was a solid song
San Marino 2013: such a good song and fan favorite
Latvia 2017: performing last and so fun, I expected to hear Latvia more than Belgium at the end
Romania 2018; its Romania, but if they were to fail it was now or never
Sweden 2010: so good, that’s what they get for sending something non generic ?
Bosnia Herzegovina 2016: their streak was impeccable but if they were to fail it was now or never
Israel 2014: fan favorite
Malta 2015: o thought the juries would overrate it like in 2014:
Poland 2018: I thought they’d do much better with the televote
Iceland 2016: everyone expected this to qualify
Estonia 2017: fanwank
Finland 2017: fanwank
I would add Armenia and Switzerland 2018
wait a sec what do you mean "It's Romania?"...do you underrate us?
WHYYYYYYY? MONTENEGRO 2013 IS THE BEST OF ALLL! I love even all songs from this top
2012 Netherlands would have been considered a cultural crime in the USA (Attitudes of Native American headdresses must be different in Europe)
2013 Switzerland I think failed because the old guy looked sincerely lost.
2017 Estonia-additional note, they made the same mistake that 2004 Slovenia made, too much flirting and non word notes.
So are these songs which didn't get into the finals or?
Nice Video. From those i was shocked(mostly) with 1.Swiss 2012 Sinplus.2.Israel 2011 Mei and most of all Finland 2017 blackbird(i was crying for this).I loved the Greek song last year but live she killed it with a very bad stage appearance.
50. What? I would be shocked if it would have qualified xDDDD
49. Kinda...
48. So bad vocals and performing first, so not surprising
47. Yeah amazing performance... I also thought she would qualify
46. Ahm idk maybe
45. Deserved to qualify definitely
44. Not shocking at all, many hated it :/
43. What?? Worst vocal performance ever xDDDD
42. Yeah... Especially because it has so many views now... But it's Slovakia, back then politics did a bigger role than now
41. I am not shocked somehow
40. Not shocked again xD
39. Terrible staging
38. Yeah especially because everyone is hyping her after 2016. For me personally this is even better
37. I thought her voice alone would make it qualify
36. Vocals could be better
35. It's DANA INTERNATIONAL so yeah
34. Underrated definitely
33. For most of people staging was dull... But kinda agree. And it deserved to qualify so much 💙
32. Again not shocking but deserved to qualify
31. Yes yes yes agree!
30. Ehhh nothing shocking at all
29. For me worst song ever ughhh I am happy it didn't qualify. But still OVERRATED XDDDDDD
28. Yeah last place how :O
27. So underrated
26. I feel so bad for her and Belgium 😭😭😭😭😭 and dont understand why people complain about staging
25. Expected with that staging AND it's Switzerland... And the song isnt too special
24. Yeah :/
23. So underrated definitely
22. Song is generic, but as it's Azerbaijan I also thought it would qualify
21. Idk not surprising
20. Song is just too simple
19. Yes agree
18. Performance was great, but I didn't think it would qualify though
17. Soooo bland
16. So bland and it's Slovakia
15. Yeah it's so unique 💙💙💙💙 I guess staging was too empty for some
14. Its San Marino and 'only' 2nd time for Valentina so xD
13. As being loved by fans, performing last and having this bright staging yeah
12. Kinda... I feel sad for Romania
11. Biggest crime ever omg 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
10. She was so nervous... I am fine with that and love it, but others werent it seems
9. Ehhhh
8. Nothing shicking
7. Yes yes yes omg
6. Nothing shocking at all and I never was a fan
5. Yeah I was so sad back then when Malta didn't qualify
4. Bad vocals so... But kinda shocking still
3. Yeah
2. Too bland I guess.... But underrated 😭
1. Yes yes omg 😭😭😭😭
Great video! 💙💙💙💙💙 I don't agree with everything but still :D
40: dont u disrespect Kaliopi like that
Do you happen to be 6 years old
Beautiful ballad: uugh who cares
Horrible badly produced pop song with a bad singer: 👌🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️😍🥰🥳🤩🤩 OH MA GAWD SO GOOD LITERALY ROBBED LIKE
Agree with many on this list
Hope never dies was robbed, blackbird robbed, hear them calling me robbed...that is all
FYROM last year was a shocker. I really liked her and the song.
Netherlands 2018 and Greece 2018 though the worst decisions, both were in my top 3 of all songs that year.
A matter of time is for me the biggest shock. This song is by far the best of this list.
um... HELLO? WHERE’S ZIBBZ?
Estonia 2017 was one of my favourites :'-(
2010: Slovakia, Sweden, Croatia
2011: Norway, Armenia, Bulgaria, Israel
2012: just Slovenia tbh
2013: Serbia, San Marino, Israel
2014: Israel (big shock) , Ireland
2015: very easy to predict year, got 19/20 qualifiers that year, my best score ever, only mistaked Malta qualifying over Poland. And yes I had predicted Iceland not qualifying and Cyprus making it. It was very obvious to me in rehearsals.
2016: Iceland and Norway
2017: Finland, Latvia, Estonia
2018: Belgium, Greece, Poland
So 22 songs in 18 semis were shocking non qualifiers to me.
Switzerland 2018?
Where’s Armenia 2018?!
No.45 people weren't even allowed vote for that song😭 it was so sad.
What happened?
Soraya Gabriela Pérez Zambrano I'm actually not sure because it was so long ago but people at home couldn't vote, I think they left it up to the juries for some reason
Where is Malta 2015!?
My shocking non-qualifires
2015 Malta, Belarus, Iceland and Moldova
2016 Iceland, Belarus, Estonia and Denmark
2017 Macedonia, Latvia, Switzerland and Estonia
2018 Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Malta, Macedonia and Moldova
where's Cyprus 2007????
