- Hello friends!
In this episode, I answer the question: "Is this the end of Trek Emonda?"
I also make a comparison with Trek Madone.

It's probably on sale because a new Émonda is coming. There is already a picture of the leaked bike going around the internet. Slowly but surely we are also heading towards the new season with the Grand Tours coming up so it's only logical Trek is trying to get rid of some old stock.
Let's see if we get new Emonda
@@CyclingInsideryes it’s coming in two months
Emonda : best bike ever
I think the climbing bikes are more fun to ride. Yes, an aero bike is faster, but the stiff bikes are fun to ride. I don't think most riders are fast enough to get the most out of a bike like the Madone.
Interesting analysis. Now that the gen 8 Madone has been released, what do you think? Best of both worlds? A little less aero, a little lighter, even more beautiful? I’m interested in buying the SL5. What do you think?
Trek had to do this new Madone Gen 8 because they saw how Specialized did Tarmac SL 8 (and is selling them like crazy). All of these bikes want to be aero and light. But that's not possible. So I think Trek should have gone even more aero on the new Madone, and then release very light Emonda (below 6.8 kg in top built).
I would skip Madone SL5, save a bit more money and go for SL6 because you get electronic Shimano di2 groupset.
@@CyclingInsider thanks - but SL6 is almost double the price of SL5 as has not just di2 but also carbon carbon rims. I can save but can I justify!?
No
It’s too spicey
I think if the cycling industry continues to slow and possibly have a serious stall, I can see many lines narrowing..
Same price not aero or light so what's the point? Just get madone.
I would be very surprised if they stop making emonda. But the new madone is definetely an excellent bike (although a bit expensive).
They came out with a alloy Emonda a year or so ago
@@s1alker564 emonda alr still exist
If you like that “new madone” wait until later this year when we get a new, new madone 😉
Let's see what happens with Emonda.
@@mattkennedy1203how do you know that?
IMO there is only one bike worth buying from trek, on the road side of things. Emonda ALR with the 105 di2 or 12S mechanical 105.
Close to it the Domane with 12S 105 mechanical.
Any other is way overpriced and not worthy. The domane Sl frame costs 3k€, the bike mentioned above, same frame 2.7K€. Make it make sense
You sound like Valentino Rossi 😂
I wish a ride a motorbike like him :)
Emonda is staying. Can’t say anymore than the Madone will be leaving the range.
What makes u say that? I was about to buy one ?
Let's see because that would be interesting. Trek could do Emonda like Specialized did Tarmac SL8.
Sounds like it will be the opposite: Emonda is going and there is a new Madone (which is a combo of both bikes)
very expensive for no reason..tcr much better
