I think during the forest speeder section, they somehow timed it perfectly so that each of them would move just far enough away for the multi-player tethering to force them to loop back and keep pace with each other, but while they were looping the other would get too far ahead and also have to loop back...
i remember playing this game with my older brother when we were kids. he was the one who actually wanted to play the game meanwhile i was just finding new ways to constantly annoy the shit out of him while we played. watching simpleflips play this made me reminisce on those good old days of being the worst second player ever

This is probably my favorite video of all time. Despite having watched this 4 times, I cannot go 3 minutes without dying into a laughing fit. Like, the pure "simpleflips" energy this video has, chaos and never ending jokes everywhere. This live must have been an amazing experience.
Side note: 13:30 is actually a real speedrun strat (jumping into the pit to end the level early), you just have to load and de-load the room first.
