    I hope you don't mind Alex, I have shared your video series in the FB Group Van Life Video Share. It was created be Luke from "Lukes Van Life". Fantastic attention to detail so far, I've binged this series over the last few days lol. I'm looking forward to seeing more mate keep up the amazing work.

      Thank you very much, I’m fan of Luke’s videos and have watched quite a lot of them now. But I didn’t know about the Facebook. Thank you very much!

    Yep unfortunately them pesky Fords are notorious for them grommets leaking on the roof, really enjoying the series mate, some nice thorough work you have done 👌

    2:52 I'm always surprised by van leaks even in areas no one has touched. I may have to leak test before doing anything else.

      Yeah I had no idea about this issue. But after I googled it, it’s not too uncommon. Going to cover all of the other plugs in sealant.

    Hello, me again, this build is a treasure trove of ideas and information, great work. Just finalising my roof layout. Planning to have roof bars on the 4 standard bracket locations, then mount a maxxfan deluxe between the 1st 2 bars. Found some dimensions for the longest bit sticking up above the van for the fan (the cover) as 586mm. Looks doable but tight to fit between the front 2 roof bars, do you know roughly what gap you have between your 2 bars at this point? Will buy bars and fan then place on roof for a dry run before cutting and fitting anything anyway. Cheers

      I don't have the exact measurement offhand but I believe the gap between bar one and two is around 90-100cm

    Enjoying your series! 👍 I’m using the same roof bars for my transit camper conversion. Had you considered cutting down the roof bars and mounting them to the underside of the brackets to lower the overall profile? That’s my plan and I think they will look a lot neater.

      My roof bars are 1750mm version, my solar panels are 1640mm. I think the distance between the brackets mount was around 1500mm. I need the extra length for the panels basically. In the later videos where the roof rack is finished if it’s solar panel mounts on it looks very different

      @@MispronouncedAdventures ah yes I see now. I’m hoping I can fit my solar between the brackets. We’ll see! Great work! 👍

      Definitely ideal if you can! My panels were just too large. Although my van is a H3,I bought the H2 roof bars as they are 1750mm, The H3 version roof bars are 1570mm in total.

    Hi were did you order your roof bars from because when i like at the sizes of them, they are 1500 for the h2 and h3 🤔

      I got mine direct from Vanguard. I’ve just looked on there website now. I can only find the H3 model which were shorter 1550mm. I ordered the H2 model ( for my H3 van ) originally as they were a bit longer 1570mm I think . You could email them to asked if they can do you a custom length?

    Have you considered the flexing of the panels when driving? It may crack the glass.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 4 lety

      You’ll see in the next video the problem I had. The frames and whole solar frame itself has no flex in it at all. Unfortunately first way I attached the solar frames to the roof bars wasn’t sufficient and the bars were flexing not the panels or it’s frame. Mk2 will fix the issue

    Hey Alex, thanks for the really informative and entertaining videos. I'm looking to use the same roof bars and paint them. Just wondered how your paint was holding up after 2 years? Thx.

    • @MispronouncedAdventures
      @MispronouncedAdventures  Před 2 lety +1

      It’s been great, the bars have a few scratches but that mostly happened when installing as I don’t think I let the paint cure enough before install
