Don’t forget to subscribe for more videos about CORNWALL and Falmouth I sometimes visit St Ives Cornwall and Padstow Cornwall too. Come here for everything from travel recommendations to beach reviews such as Perranporth Beach Cornwall. I also LOVE EXPLORING Cornwall’s coast line and the South West Coastal Path. Thank you for watching and commenting and liking the video.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the channel by buying me a beer or a few. You’re all legends.

Ecoflo !!!
Thanks for mention. Van install looking nice. For those conduit where you've lost string, use drawwire (35379 toolstation) very strong and flexible. Tape at several points to relief pressure and stagger the start of multiple wires, adding silicone spray into the conduit really helps too.
Thanks mate I appreciate the tips. Don’t get offended if I don’t take you advice in the next video as I’ve already filmed it 😂
Ha not at all, just passing on comments of experience. 👍🏻 look forward to next one, makes my Sunday morning.
Dude the van is coming on lovely now its definitely something I would love to either own or build myself love watching people do this your all so inspirational to me i cant wait to see what the van looks like when you are finished your one talented guy
Thank you
AAAAH smart SHunt... I had to watch that bit, I thought I was hearing things
Another great video. Totally agree about the wiring and keeping it neat. That’s me all over. Learnt quite a lot from this video. Thank you!
Thanks for the beer mate
Shaun, where you’ve snapped the string, try using a single solid copper core wall mains cable wire to feed down that channel. By marking on the cable with pvc tape, you’ll know when it’s close to the other end. Once it’s through, attach nylon string to it and pull it back!
Good advice
Thanks
Thank you Susan
Loving the progress videos so neat and tidy with the solar panel wiring love how it’s coming along remember those security cameras 👍🏻
Cheers Andrew
EcoFlow delta max 2 and extra smart EcoFlow battery great 👍
Yea I’ve got an ecoflow I’d rather something more permanent though
Great video. Most helpful
That’s a really amazing Job there! I like the idea of keeping the wires to the back, love the clean idea. 👌
Thanks mark
Love the videos. Always great music. Keep going. Almost there. Can't wait to see the finished van
Thank you
mornin’. Sorry it was a rough week. It’s good for us though to see it real. Too may you-tube videos just make it look easy. Appreciate seeing it real. Great vid again. Thank you!
Thank you Paul
Top work by the whole team there Liam 👊
Your doing a great job Shaun it's going to be amazing when it's finished keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Nigel
Well done! This is turning out really great 👍😊
Thanks Torunn
Another Great job Shaun. Your definitely going to get days of stress doing this but your doing a great job love all the content too, great video 👍
Thank you
You had me when you said, "What's in the box!?" Haha! Well done for persevering. Looking forward to the next episode. Keep up the great work buddy.
Thank you
Great video and great JOB.
I will say one thing as a warning to people how might try this, as soon as you take the solor panel out of the box it's live.
So don't let the wire touch
Good tip
Cover the panel with some of the black plastic you used, until everything is connected up.
Mate your like the bear grills of camper build , improvise adapt overcome 😊love it . I am a sparky and love the way you handle the cable confinement and means of isolation . Spot on oh as usual x
Cheers Peter
Nice vid to watch after van life festival, was all confident about redoing van... changed my mind now 😂😂😂😂😂
It's another cracking video. Dont take these down as I will be looking through them when I come to build a van next year. The tools you are using will be coming for me via your links on Amazon, along with your kit. Great videos, and I will buy you a beer at the end of the videos as I need to have my mobile to pay through my app.
That was a very productive but very stressful weekend. I hope you got to relax for a bit before the work week started.
Thanks Sally
Great job Shaun, anyone would have struggled on a hot roof, with the sun's most reflective product in their face, whilst kneeling on small strips of metal with right angles digging into their skin... But on the bright side, think of the tan 😂!! The only bit that did in my OCD was when you used the negative electrical tape and drew a positive cross on it 😊😂. Great job and looks amazing. You should feel really proud of those two days work.
Cheers
Hey dude try using a fish tape to get your cables through the conduit, they work wonders 👍😎
Good advice
Brilliant video mate I will be doing something like that very soon
Cheers mate
Amazing stuff mate - doing an amazing job 👍
Thank you
Absolutely love the channel and this build series. I dont even have a van but learnt some real priceless tips and tricks. Holding the solar panel up with that single piece of wood gave me visions of the the start of an episode of Casualty 😂
Casualty is that show still going? 😂
@@LoveSundays ha ha I have no idea 😂
When in doubt,, crack on !! Well done, it's looking great! 😉👍🏴
Cheers Phil
when you was fitting it and had wood underneath so holding it up at an angle I thought to myself hinges 1 side and lock down on other with bolt or something. then can flip it up facing the sun more and have bit more room on top for whatever . just a thought.
Yea it did cross my mind maybe in the future
Babe wake up Shaun’s uploaded a new video
😂
When pulling cables through the conduit it’s best to stagger them and if you make the bends less sharp it’s easier to pull around just something I have learnt being a sparky
Thank you
I look forward to your van build videos, would love to see more but I understand they are time consuming to make. Looking forward to next week's video lol. Xx
Thank you
nice job well done ✌❤
Good progress mate. 👍
Thanks 👍
Lovely job van is looking good and another good video 👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👋👋👋👋
Thanks
Most welcome mate, but I think you’re gonna need a bigger van soon 🤣🤣
Probably 😂
I can’t believe i’m on the latest episode of this already 😅 i need moreeer
Solar power in Cornwall. Most of the time its lashing wind and horizontal rain. Is it the kind of panel, that work, even on cloudy days? Great video Shaun. Even tough you got bit teasy. 🙂😀
Solar works in all weathers
It's not OCD to want everything perfect...It's professionalism....
This is getting good now. 👍🏻 Solar will be brilliant to be self sufficient in your summer time. I say 'your' cus up here in the Midlands we just get cloud and rain 😆 But them f****ng flip flops.....just no.....I can't.......nope....... 😂 Awesome build and I'd need neat wiring too. My issue is nothing is ever quite right so I spend too much time second guessing myself and getting angry. Cheers mucka 🍺
Thank you
C.K MIGHTY ROD 6MM FLEXIBLE CABLE ROD SET 3.3M (3386T) try these for your cable feed through your conduit, screwfix sell them mate. 🤙👍🤙👍
Good advice
Great video xx
Thank you
Great video! Without your roof rack would this have fit width ways?
Cracking job Shaun you make look so easy I know it’s not 👌
Thanks Jeff
Thanks again…. Good to know that you too have those frustrating sweary days !
Thanks Peter
Another banging video
Thanks Charlie
Great videos bud hope u and family are ok
Thank you
Morning Shaun. Wow mate that’s coming along nicely mate, with it being such a hot day maybe a snorkelling video would have been a better choice 😂😂 that solar panel did look pretty heavy mate and I’ve called a few people a smart shunt over the years 😂😂😂 keep up the good work mate.
And I’ve just brought you 3 beers 👍
Thanks Jon really appreciate it mate
@@LoveSundays no problem mate I love supporting you 👍
You need to go to a fishing tackle shop and ask for a pole elastic threader for your conduit problems. That might help!
Good advice
Watch out for solar shading with that roof rack. The side bars are definitely shading the panel in some of those shots. That will drop the output of the panel dramatically.
Thanks for the advice
Loving this video its the best bit fitting it out with power, love it 👍 the kit looks great shaun loads of power are you going AGM or Lithium on the batteries, i have AGM 300 amps gives me about160-70 amps to play with. Never run out yet, even got close lol. That sola panel is amazing 300 wats woww. Its starting to really come together now, stay safe buddy see you next week. Michael notts
I’m getting a 200AH lithium battery. It’s lighter and you can discharge it right down so should work really well for what I need
Nice battery 200 lithium 👍 look forward to seeing it being installed thanks Shaun 🙏
Electricity so important in any thing and solar power l have seen a lotof people explaining how it works but watching you install all the compotents l am starting to understand it a bit l will never do this myself but watching a novice do it it can't be that hard well at least the hard physical jobs done fitting the solar panel
Thanks Les
@@LoveSundays You picked a hot day to do this job its winter in Australia as long as it doesn't rain l can get on with some if my projects
Could you not have mounted the panel under the roof rack so you could still use the rack? If those nuts, bolts and Washers aren't grade 2 stainless I'd replace to stop them rusting and staining the van paint. Loving the channel. I've been there. Worth it in the end.
Great idea
Good morning.
Thats some technical kit going on there now, should be like home from home when its all done mate. Are you keeping your old van as well for more stealth overnighters?
Thanks Glynn
Nice one Shaun 🙂
Thank you
Lovely stuff. But how did you do THAT camera angle and then break out a Lethal Weapon quote?
???
great series.. do you have a link to the kit you got from them for your power?
It’s this one minus the batteries
callidus.shop/products/320-watt-mono-qcells-panel-victron-2000-va-muiltplus-inverter-charger-100-20-smart-mppt-smart-bmv-220ah-agm-smart-dc-dc-charger-cable-solar-mounting-isolators-fused-busbar-cable-gland-kit-57?variant=41502076272693
Could try using a net curtain wire in the conduit. Interesting build!
Good advice
@@LoveSundays screw an eye hook in the end of the wire so the end is rounded and should help with pushing thro’
Even watching the cleaned up shortened version of this job was stressful to watch x amazing and you will be stoked once you are all connected and using its all x well done! ps I would have loved to hear the version which was removed due to swearing ^%#$^&%$#~!!!
Thanks Debra
Re Conduit issue you might want to try a cable tongue and push it through…
Good advice
Scary Sunday.😳 It’s all the electricity. Don’t know nothing about that. Hope it all went well for you in the end. Got my fingers crossed 🫣
Thank you
Yeah Shawn what's in the box 😂😂
😂
Man you're brave doing that, it looked so complicated. Flicking a switch is about as involved with electricity that I want to be
Thank you
Huge solar 👍🏼waiting for you to mix up your videos with maybe a paddle board video or snorkelling!! I know no one is ever happy we all want more 😂😂only saying because weather is so nice 👍🏼
Just need to get this van finished then I’ll be back out in it every week.
Loving the van build videos too 👍🏼I’m getting loads of use out the paddle board you gave me 👍🏼👍🏼thanks
Hmm blue tape for positive ? Never opened a uk plug before I guess. Either red or brown I would recommend, blue is neutral. Good video all the same.
If the tape was staying on the wire permanently it would’ve used the correct colour it was just for reference on the other side
Seems alot if trouble for a bit of electricity, ild just buy an ecoflo portable generator or something like it and folding solar panel to charge it
Each to their own.
your doing a grand job well apart from the conduits lol but hey every day is a school day eh?
Thanks Jon
Shaun, where did you buy the box (solar kit)?
Here you go John
callidus.shop/products/320-watt-mono-qcells-panel-victron-2000-va-muiltplus-inverter-charger-100-20-smart-mppt-smart-bmv-220ah-agm-smart-dc-dc-charger-cable-solar-mounting-isolators-fused-busbar-cable-gland-kit-57?variant=41502076272693
Hi Shaun . What was the output of the solar panel ? It was double the size of the Reanology panels .?
It’s 305w
@LoveSundays Did you not of mounting 2 x 175w panels ?
That was an option but they would’ve taken up to much space and for what I need power wise 305w is fine
@@LoveSundays ok got you . 👌
Please redo your crimp connection with the correct tool . Without boring you. The current you pull creates heat and I can assure you your plied derived crimp will come loose and it is a fire hazard. Pm if you need any advice
Will do thank you
In hindsight wouldn’t it have made sense to run all the wiring for the van before finishing out the interior walls?
Yes. But until you know exactly what you’re putting everywhere and what size wire you need it makes it more difficult
"No one will ever know"
Unless they've watched this video 😆
You mean people actually watch my videos Dave 🤔
@@LoveSundaysyeah apparently 😂 obviously I didn't 🤣
Please mate, can you add what panel did you install on your van, describe more. We all know that you have Victron, but what else ?
It’s a victron 305w panel
@@LoveSundays Thank you 😉!!!
Why did you use Victron 30 instead of 50 if you need obviously need 50 Amp with more solar panels ?
Doing well there my friend. Just to be the first one to annoy you, as I'm looking at doing the same, any chance of a rough cost of the units?
what Units the ones I built?
@@LoveSundays sorry, was not that clear was I, the electronic units, (panels, wiring, mppt and such)
For this set up it was £2500 but most of that was the inverter which was about £1500 because it a multiplus which means it’s an inverter and it charges the battery when on hook up
@@LoveSundays many thanks for the answers, I know it was personal finance question, sorry, the set up looks good, now I know roughly what price range I need, thank you again.
Interesting how we can spend a hard day of eight hours of unpaid graft and anxiety for our hobbies. Another great video 😊
Cheers
There is only 7 years of life left 😢
Read the book of revelation ❤
Romans 10:9-13 NKJV - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
