    I give tons of credit to iDatalink for a great product but also allowing DIYers to program their modules. This is very unlike the unstable junk that DEI puts out like the DBall2, and how they are greedy and stopped allowing consumers to program them even after we bought all the programming cables. Very scummy.

    have a 2013 camaro i'm installing the RR2 into because of those programmable outputs, i have a line lock and 2 step systems that are also going in at the same time and rather than muck up the dashboard with a "master" switch for each (wanting them independent) I'm using those programmable outputs to control a pair of relays, clean look!

    What if instead of muting the audio when in reverse I want the volume to be turned down just enough but not completely? Would this be possible with the RR2? Is it also possible to make the turn signal activate a side camera input and show it in the screen (like Honda change lane assist)?

    Great videos, thank you. Helped me figure out my new setup. I got a Rr and an Alpine ILX-W650 for my Jeep and the Rr didn't ask for the serial number of the radio during the setup. Either it auto-detected it or didn't need it.

    I'm having the Kenwood DMX1057xr installed soon. Crutchfield suggested the PAC so I bought one. I returned to the website and it's suggesting the iDatalink Maestro RR2 Interface Module. Do they work the same for my 2005 Chrysler 300c? I'm confused now. I want to keep all factory functions SWC etc. I'm running out of time. I need to have all the parts for the installer. Anyone know?

    You can use a Windows VM with VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop. However if you are on a M1 Mac you are SOL since the iDatalink software is x86 and not ARM

    I wire my relays different from you. the compass way that is pin 87 is north, N for new accessory, pin 30 east, E for earth (ground), pin 30 south, S for solid +12v, and pin 86 west for switch. makes it easy to remember where the wires go by keeping the horizontal pin at the top and the other pins will be vertical

      I was taught 85 and 86 don't matter. Ground one and acc the other. Power goes to 30 and powered goes to 87

    If already have the dnr1007xr in my gmc sierra do I still need to purchase the extra wires harness if my radio already works with my steering wheel buttons? I got a harness when I installed my radio and everthing works fine. I just want to be able to control my climate and be able to see my gouges. My factory buttons and chimes still work just fine

    This video is very helpful. iDatalink is telling me that my car does not have a harness because it has navigation. They say they will eventually release a HK2 or HK3 harness to do this. It would seem though that I could connect the RR2 to my DMX906S manually by wire. Agree?

    Great stuff! I truly love your tutorials. I'm interested in the iDataLinks products for my car. I own a 2018 Ford mustang GT with the 9 speaker (no sub) stereo system.     What is the purpose of the CAN BUS with these Maestro units? If one was to purchase an RR or RR2 would the extra $100 difference be worth it for the additional BUS?
    Purchasing a iData K150 kit with a Pioneer AVIC-NEX8000 but am unsure as to which Maestro unit to get (RR or RR2)

    Ι drive a Nissan XTrail (Rogue) Japanese specs. Maestro company told me they are not selling it to me because they are not sure if the unit fit my car model. Watching your video I noticed that the unit can connect as a stand alone. Is this possible with my car? Thanks

    Hi is there anyway to install this idatalink maestro module in Honda Accord 7(2003-2007) dual zone AC to retain the climate control info in Alpine or Poineer head unit. Any electrical modification in writing is possible as myself is electrical engineer

    So if it retains the backup sensor in the maestro unit, does that mean head units with a separate backup or parking break wire do not need to be wired or are they still required to be hard wired to the appropriate points in the car's wiring system?

    First, I say thank you for the very informative video! I do have a question tho! The Maestro RR/R2 will be connected to my OBD port. I sometimes use that port tune to my truck with a Diablo tuner, if I remove the connection from the RR or RR2, will I have to reflash or will it cause any issues with the pre-existing programming of the RR/RR2 once the services are reconnected?

    what are the other three wires on the Configurable Output Harness? I don't see this harness anywhere in the instructions... Obviously white/red is output 1, white/blue is output 2, and white green is output 3..... BUT what are brown/white, blue/red, and blue/yellow for? THANKS for any help!

    I have this organge screen "No Nav" Color screen and all yhr controls are done via the radio and the Ugly Orange screen shows what your controlling.

    My steering wheel in my camaro doesn't have radio control buttons on the right side. If i was to add them, would this allow the controls to work without having to get the BCM reflashed at the dealer?

    thanks for this vid. do you have any info on the RR and connecting to the OBD2 port ? are OBD2 port splitters ok to run? i would like to connect the RR module and also the COBB AP to my OBD2 port and also have the OBD2 port available for a 3rd plug if the dealer or my tuner needs to access it without unplugging the splitter. thanks !

    I've got a GMRS that I'm going to install with my RR2. One of the things I was thinking about developing (but might not need to now) is a device that allows the audio from the GMRS to be overlayed onto the entertainment audio. Ideally, it would slightly fade the entertainment audio in preference of the GMRS (communications) audio. Do you think that's doable with the RR2?

    How is the 3 MPOs differ from what you can do on an OBDeleven using long coding or one of its apps? Is it essentially the same thing, or are these MPOs vastly more customizable and gains access to more than what an OBDeleven can access through OBD2 port?

    Hey man, any reason my head unit ( Kenwood DMX-1057XR) will randomly reboot (once in a while) w/ the obd2 connector connected. 2009 Tundra. When I unplug the obd2 connector, I dont have that problem. Using Rr w/ T01 Harness, NOT Rr2. I used the same module w/ my Alpine halo 9 f309, and the unit will reboot (randomly) as well. Any help will be appreciated.
