Stephen Fry is one of those people that really makes you want to be a better person.
Dvdsky Precisely ! Well said, you. Just found out Stephen is at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake this summer, doing a one-man show called Mythos. Sigh..no time...no money...and apparently it's already almost sold out. Lucky Dogs. Break a leg, Stephen. Lovely to have you in Canada. 👍❤️
Shame deep down he is a pathetic prick.
He’s in the camp of intelligent people that want to raise the intelligence of those around him, not those that want to scold you for not being as smart. People like him are the ones that kids aspire to be, if they don’t want to be an athlete, Hollywood actor or the like
@@grumpy9250 the projection is strong with this one
Well said!
Stephen Fry is the only man NOT interrupted by Jeremy C.
One does not interrupt Stephen Fry :)
Someone did. Robin Williams. Hahaha
It would be rather rude
Just let the guy talk.
Clarkson was not lost for words. He was lost period.
I love how Stephen Fry can make even Jeremy Clarkson act slightly geeky!
Stephen Fry is our modern day Oscar Wilde.
Fry's American accent was so seamless, the way he switched between them. It sounded like my friend's dad.
Hugh Laurie is also a master of accents
I'm not saying your comment is bad, but why is it first? There are other comments with many more likes that are much farther down.
@@barsaf9989 that's how mafia works.
@@the-oncomingstorm yeah, the youtube mafia.
And your friend’s dad is from Nottingham!
Strange to see Fry this chubby and Clarkson this skinny in the same video
LP SP True.
Stephen Fry is so charismatic
Very much so!
Listening to Stephen Fry's English is a pleasure.
Two of our national treasures.
Yes. Stephen Fry and a London cab.
Do Britons consider Clarkson a national treasure? I googled Jeremy Clarkson + national treasure. The first result was a column by Katie Hopkins in which she referred to Clarkson as such, and the second was an article in which the expression 'national treasure' appeared with Clarkson's name, but was being used to describe a Mr Fry, S.
I guess the short of it is that if one has to ask if another is a national treasure, it's safe to say they are not.
And may
@@klaxoncow no, Mr. Fry and Clarkson
Clarkson would be an institution, rather than a treasure.
He actually was well known for his newspaper columns before he did this show.
Fry could talk about how he butters his toast in the morning, for half an hour, and it would still be utterly enthralling.
Check out his Podcast!
I love it. His voice is just... I dunno hypnotizing...
Always use these podcasts to fall asleep after nighshift 😂

I'm more interested in what would've happened if James May had done this interview
A complete nerd brain crash! I would’ve enjoyed that
It'll last for a whole week and I'll still be watching
@@jessejane9461 And I bet a lot of people would love to watch the whole thing, myself included!
I look at Stephen Fry and think: “Here is a man who is just so full of life and love.”
Stephen fry is such a kind old soul. I wish him the best
What a marvellous chap, that Stephen Fry
This is what i hear, when i imagine two gods having a conversation
prick
@@mattiemclean9882 lovely reply
Fry seems like a pleasant gentleman.
Steven Fry is awesome
HE was awesome when he starred in the TV show ''Jeeves and Wooster'' and is awesome when he does ''IQ''
Good to see him on TOP GEAR
I like stephen fry, about a year ago I remember this show were he had a roadtrip in amerika and he visited all the states.
He's a smart dude too
I never saw this interview before! Those two work(ed) well together.
Catch yourself some episodes of Jeremy's appearances on QI!
Stephen Fry is in a couple of stuff like QI, A little bit of Fry & Laurie, the reboot of Danger Mouse and Blackadder, with Rowan Atkinson and rejoining Hugh Laurie from A little bit of Fry & Laurie. Stephen is brilliant
Stephen Fry and Alan Davis tied! I wish we could’ve had a tie breaker between the two.
I love Stephen’s American accent so much hahaha
Love Stephen Fry at 5:00 ...his police voice is excellent!!!
7:12 "...really interesting!"
Missed opportunity here. A tie between Stephen Fry and Alan Davies is, of course, Quite Interesting!
can i just say that stephen and clarkson are very different, not saying nything bad about them, stephen is just brilliant
what a kind, gentle soul .... Sir Fry
My favorite top gear episode ever. Clarkson kicks ass and Fry is well, brilliant.
Stephen Fry and Jeremy Clarkson - two great British characters. : )
stephen is a regency dandy no matter what age hes born in
mary canary Putting on the regency?
"A real pleasure, a real joy emerging there."
MY GOD THE ULTIMATE MOMENT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! Melchett and Clarkson...
Bugger me backwards with a fish fork!
Tally-ho yippy-dap and zing-zang spillip
I love Stephen Fry, omg.
Stephen made this "already great" show, a awesome show!
yeah, very awesome
As someone who lives in Alabama, why would anyone want to even imagine they live in Alabama?
I guess because they've only seen the "good" parts in the media
antidrugofmusic I realize you posted this comment a long time ago, but I am giving you a YT Golden Comment Award, anyway. Well said !
Horror is romantic. WW2 looks cool from a distance too. (From Arkansas btw)
Well, my cousin is looking mighty fine
When i close my eyes, this sounds like a smarter version of the same british voice talking to itself.
i so want to see Stephen Fry and James May
I LOVE STEPHEN FRY!!!
I love Stephen Fry. Such a decent guy.
Stephen Fry, such a gentleman.
Jeremy looks really young !
Thats because its from the past, wooooooo
the tessellater 😱😂😂
Wow, we are really gonna miss this guy when he’s gone
Fuck everything I want to be as articulate as Stephen
I don't give a donkey's left testicle about cars, but I could listen to Stephen talk about anything the whole day.
Donkeys left testicles are hard to come by
@@yamumisgae Hitler's with you on that claim
@@yamumisgae Not in the middle-east! 10 a penny there
stephen fry, national treasure
Oh, the irony of Prius ads on Top Gear videos.
stephen fry the philoshper, love it
Stephen voice goes high low high low high low as be speaks and Jeremy takes breaks with every comma .. these two would make a great podcast.
I swear both of them have the same voice!
Not at all
because it is relatively in the beginning of the new Series: they started allowing more and a lot of people in the audience later...
Stephen Fry is probably the only one in the world other than Clarkson who was born a middle-aged man.
That was excellent.
What I find even more remarkable, is that they measure the time only to the second accurate, and not to a one hundred of a second.
I love European people. I love the accents and the way they view life. Love their humor.
The British... so many words for shitty weather :)
Probably due to so much shitty weather
Quite interesting, Stephen Fry and Jeremy Clarkson are both listed at 6 foot 5
and now at old age they are both around 6'4.5
nice guy , some head of knowledge ,
@mchandler2112
I believe they're referring to the retirement of the concorde jet. Although given the jet's inefficiency, it may not be a step backward as they're suggesting.
Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA is also an odd county, as it has two parts not connected to the rest.
i just love him so damn much
For some reason he reminds me of Graham Linehan in this interview.
And back then, Clarkson was actually quite handsome.
They are both essentially the same person.
Joshua Klynsoon For years I honestly thought they were. 😂
Thats what i tought too!
Looking forward to hearing his legendary voice again as the narrator of LBP2 :)
LBP2?
@@MrJimheeren There’s a video game series called LittleBigPlanet. LittleBigPlanet is commonly abbreviated as ‘LBP’.
Stephen Fry was the narrator in the video game series.
Good Point!
I went to school in Midhurst!
I love this man!
At 2.50 they are talking about the Concorde.
He needs to be back on.
if they add one additional host to top gear this would be a top choice
@gunzkevin to answer your question "And why didn't they use tenths rather than having the possibility of multiple ties?"
because, when they brought the show back with new presenters in 2002 they introduced this stars in a reasonably priced car for the first time and didn't want to make it too competitive, so they decided not to take the time that accurate. when this feature became more and more popular in later years, they realised that it would be better to use tenths too
Its very strange seeing the Top Gear hangar empty...
God Clarksons aged since these earlier 'new' Top Gear episodes!
@chalzegro I wish, Jeremy Clarkson once said in one of his columns that it takes about 4 months to film the material, and then another few to edit and prepare it.
Top gear was like this when it first started, first few seasons were empty.
6:03 made me laugh so much!
Didn’t know general Melchet could drive 😂
what was the plane thing referenced?
Did you paint your deck.
@BenChipsy he really does, i can't beleive i have never noticed that before. stephen fry os a absolute legend.
*gives you hug from NewZealand : )
Stephen Fry will always be my Harry Potter.
Midhurst. Stephen Fry mentioned Midhurst. Midhurst on the map at last.
@chalzegro didnt the new series already start about a month ago
what time is this show on? I can never find it.
@gunzkevin erm yes..this is just a tv show, and they do have tenths of seconds
cool video
not many people come to the studio..
was this before or after the Quite Interesting game show?
James may should have done this interview
hmm, you had me intrigued, it took quite a few listens but he says.... "motoring". "It's a real joy, a real pleasure in motoring there." he does say it quickly and shortens the vowels. m(e)rtring.
Now this man knows how to have a conversation
wow what a small crowd in the back
One of the greatest actor in britain history 💪💪💪😎
From November 2003.
Clarkson trying to use big words lol
wow how many years ago was this? :o
stupydguy 2003, I think that's when they stopped using Concorde.
I was wondering what they referred to with having surpassed the zenith of aviation, or something to that effect...
Concorde was withdrawn from commercial service, the last flight was on October 24, 2003, so this was about a week later.
Very costly to run, but beautiful.
@xSkullbusterx this one's from 3x02. so late 2003. :)
Never would have imagined myself using a word like "bespeak", although I know it exists, having come across 'bespoke' on multiple occasions. Also "tweedy"...
What are they referring to when they are discussing the peak of aviation? 2:52
this episode was filmed in 2003, days or weeks after the retirement of the Concorde, the only supersonic civil transportation aircraft, considered for decades a symbol of the times and of the future.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concorde
2 Stephen Frys.
Some people don't like Stephen Fry. I find that astonishing.
@TiaM10 It's thanks to Fable that I even know who Stephen Fry is. Thank goodness for that!
