I freelance for both Paramount and Discovery and these mergers have really hurt the business. We're seeing a record slowdown with work
If this means I can watch Paramount content without having to deal with their terrible stream quality, I'm all for it.
Like I’ve been saying, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon all on one streaming service perfection as a 90’s guys I would love this!!!!
Warner bros were the ones who originally created nickelodeon, mtv, and vh1, they were later sold to paramount. It would essentially be a return of assets.

I would be down for a merger. MAX has the best quality of the streaming options. They don’t churn and burn streaming schlock like Netflix does. I literally browse for half an hour on Netflix and can never find anything. Paramount would give Max some added high quality quantity to the platform. Which I’m all for. They could use a good bump in content. Just don’t turn into the travesty that Netflix is.

Its not like the 2 companies are merging, it's only their streaming services. Dont forget that Disney, wb discovery, and fox are launching a joint sports streaming service.

I love this deal! HBO excels in their TV shows and Paramount has some pretty nice movies. Combine them together and it could be worth it!

Don’t forget that Paramount+ also has Halo. So if they merge with HBO Max, then they would get that juggernaut of a series.

PLEASE do this. Warner (at least pre-Discovery) and Paramount always seemed like a good fit content-wise, and this would be the next best thing. Disney, Hulu, and Max are my favorite streamers, and Paramount, as far as New Beavis, New Frasier, the South Park specials, and Kingstown is surprisingly my fourth favorite. So if Paramount (which I have through Walmart Plus), becomes a piece of the eventual Disney/Max Bundle, that’d be a huge benefit.

If Sony does buy Paramount, I think they should make it so that that certain titles are only on the Paramount HBO streaming service for a year and other streaming services can rent out certain movies and TV show titles for price.
Assuming it's going to happen, how soon could it be until they start merging, and wouldn't they have to rename the app? Maybe call it Maxomount or Paramax

I sense a revival of Warner/Paramount merger talks if I got that right combined with NBCUniversal being thrown into the mix, like what a article told me.
Oh, and I could envision Amazon MGM Studios (since Amazon is facing a FTC lawsuit) being spun-off into the mix.....so a new rival for Disney+ should happen.

Paramount movies already have a pre-built future streaming home? It's called Paramount +. They've already been doing that with Paramount movies. I'm confused by the point John is making.

Showtime doesn’t do boxing business anymore. They announced they were out after 2023.
The only problem is David Zaslav who looks to save and going after tax cuds to get hes end of year bonus and what I thought he's plan was when he bought WB originally to make better quality content
The company was bleeding money, what else can they do. His pay is based on generating free cash flow and paying down debt

Max is hemorrhaging shows; canceling and removing content from the platform. That’s a downside for Paramount
