- A drive through Strood at 9.30am on 22/10/2009, from Frindesbury Hill to Marlowe Park via Station Road, Commercial Road, Knights Road, Cuxton Road, Cedar Road, Holly Road, Lilac Road onto Marlowe Park.
Thank you for this. I used to go down the Medway area to see a lady for my health so all of this seems familiar really. That was from 2002 to 2009; sometimes I went through the Medway Tunnel; other times I would go on the A2 and M2. Other times I would go with my Dad if we were going onto the sea at times also. I live near Dartford so I do know the journey fairly well too. Well done!
Cool tune. I move out of Strood in 09 I now live in the USA so just a small change.

I lived in Frindsbury, then Strood in the 60's - Hereford now. Funnily enough in my sleep I still walk the streets, industrial estates, and MASSIVE hills. Lord help anyone in a wheel chair like I am now. I went to St Mary's Primary. My best friend was Kalasha Carr, so if you read this it's Debbie H!
I lived in Strood 78 / 79 top of fulmar rd and worked at alloy wheels in knights rd but that's gone now never had a Morrisons in knights rd either how the time has gone
@@wirewalker It is well strange to realise you can't go back - everything's gone. I remember seeing an interview with Canadian Indians talking about how all the hills and woods had gone. All that remained was flat dirty sand where the oil had been extracted. At least Herefordshire is still beautiful.
Amazing lack of traffic. Only 10 years ago. You can't waft around town like that anymore.

7:27 down there is one of the streets where I used to live. It is called Elgin Gardens.
I live in Norwich now in a country park and it feels more quiet here and I don't have to hear traffic noise next to my house :)

I used to live in Strood until 1970 when I immigrated to Adelaide OZ certainly different to when I was there, one way systems etc I realised after seeing another video why you went and turned into Horthorn road to get up Maple Hill, the bottom is now blocked off. You lost me a couple of turns after passing Temple School driveway.
Was good to see video as apposed to looking on Google earth. 48 years a lot of changes.
Keith Ward we also left 1972 & moved to South Australia 🇦🇺. Where in SA did you move to❓. We lived Christies Beach. We’re going back in August for a holiday.

@elvistheeldorado Cars really should only park facing away from oncoming traffic here in the UK too, reason being at night the rear reflectors built into rear light would be illuminated by the cars, it is simply not enforced by the Police and I guess it's gone on so long many drivers may not even know they should do this.

I can think of many other places I'd rather not be, in comparison I guess Rochester is well down the list of places not to live.
