Very good! I'm originally from Gillingham, the Medway towns have changed SO much since I left in 1988 for Norfolk! I used to work in the Dockyard. Last time I went to the Castle and Cathedral was with the school. I remember going into the Cathedral Crypt where there was a bit of a Museum about the Boar war, clothing in there had blood stains! Dickens Museum was good all those years ago. I worked on a Boat, ex RAF Rescue boat just up from the Castle, doing repairs. I worked on a Brigadier's Yacht at Allhallows Yacht club opposite the Dockyard! I did my Apprenticeship at Gillingham Pier and Fairmile Wharf, as a Shipwright Boatbuilder.

The wonky house reminds me of one in Canterbury, it leans so much its got a steel skeleton inside to stop it falling over. Great vlog video, should do a day trip every few months

Thank you for the quick visit to the castle and cathedral. I cycled through there in 2017 with my youngest son. We couldn't stop as we had to get to Canterbury by 8 an only had a couple of hours. My youngest planning was a little extreme/fast for me.
The cycle route took you along by the River Medway. It was getting dark and you went down some very dodgey looking allieways with groups of lads hanging about. If I'd been by myself I would have braved the rush hour traffic. Or walked along by the main road.
My bike has wide handle bars and along one of the paths they were scraping the fences on either side! Fun times. We made Canterbury just in time!

That tree outside Rochester cathedral never had a fence round it until very recently, that’s why you don’t remember the plaque. I just know it was very very old and they didn’t like drunken revellers climbing it lol

Well Mel, where do I start, (you constantly surprise me) Im from Essex, but I always visit the Dickens & Christmas festivals in Rochester every year (except these covid times), + they still do live music at that pub.........Are you a folk guitarist & singer on the quiet?, next time take rebecca to the gardens in the cathedral (nice place to visit for peace & quiet or a picnic) + would love to know more about your former businesses etc - great video mate!
