It’s funny when I used to straighten my hair, I hated washing my hair with a passion. I would leave it for like 2 weeks. Now I am natural, I absolutely love washing and deep conditioning my hair. It’s my favourite time of the week! 🤗

Because of my disabilities I spend a lot of time lying down and I realised that this was a big part of why the back of my hair is so prone to tangles and frizz.
So now I really focus the product on the back of my head and leave it conditioner to keep it moisturised. Sometimes it gets a little too oily before the rest of my hair because of all the product, but I'd rather have to wash my hair twice and have it look good, than washing it once and it tangles into a birds nest
You could get a satin pillowcase! It helps with frizz because regular cotton pillowcases cause friction when you move your head around and definitely cause frizz.
These are great tips. I had my husband watch so he can start learning before we have kids 🤣

Thanks for the tips! I always wondered if I should still be using regular conditioner even when I'm deep conditioning. I wash my hair 1/week so I use wash day to deep condition also and have been skipping the reg conditioner because of it. I love these tips, gonna try them now!

Marina Cover Protein overload presents differently in everyone, so I get what you feel. But for me, I noticed it was protein overload after using intense protein products very often. My hair is very weak, I have a lot of breakage, a lot of shedding and feels straw-like

Thank you for saying it’s ok to use a brush! My hair is so fine that when I finger detangle I loose SO much hair and I still have knots🙁 Also because of my fine hair I use a deep conditioner first on damp hair (I use a spray bottle) and then I shampoo and condition. It has made a big difference! Still conditioning once a week because of your challenge🥰

as a curly haired girl, i usually have my hair in braids but I don't really like that style anymore, so I just really wanna try to switch things up and start letting it down, I couldn't do that before but now that I'm older and more responsible I can start taking care of my hair (you know how hard it is to maintain curly hair)
Your tips really helped. When I washed my hair last night I had fewer tangles and shedding. When I was deep conditioning my hair some sections I forgot to detangle with my brush because your thumb technique worked well to smooth out my tangles :)

Apple blossom hair mask is definitely a favorite and I really like their curl cream from the curl y’all line
after 28 years i finally know how to detangle my curls in the shower painfree. i have migraines and trigeminal neuralgia so the trick of just running conditioner through it over and over has changed my whole hair routine and how much pain it causes me.
My favorites are - Match Green Tea Wild Apple Blossom Butter Mask & NYM curling cream.

Yes! I can get definition and some hold with them, everything else I use a gel. And their deep conditioner it's amazing! But if I can't order it I go to NYM.
Love the NYM's butter masks and I will be forever grateful to you for introducing us to them last yea. This very affordable and great line has been of of my faves I always keep in the shower. Also love hot showers and although you gave this tip about trying to avoid hitting the back of your hair with water before, I'm so guilty of still doing this , especially after working 12 hr shifts. I have 3b/3c hair and I wash my hair everyday. I just can't do once a week like many of you can. I hate the way my hair smells after one day. I may be able to get away with going one day without washing. Also pineappling doesn't work for me. My curls clump easily. Is there anyone else that is like me? I love the way my hair smells each time I wash or cowash it. I am a wash and go girl. The diffuser makes me hair look too fluffy and frizzy, and less defined.

I also have the MATCHA GREEN TEA & WILD APPLE BLOSSOM Shampoo, Conditioner, and Mask. I can't wait to try out the mask on my next deep conditioning day. I tried NYM after a Sales Assistant recommended it in Ulta (before I found your channel). I tried one of the single use deep conditioning sachets and was hooked! me personally , i like to cool down the water in the shower as i go like after shampooing i'll cool it down a little then after conditioning / deep conditioning i'll cool it down some more 🤷🏽♀️ i guess that could be a tip 🤷🏽♀️

the top layer of my hair is always flat but the back and inner layers are like 2c curls… i normally brush my hair back before showering and detangle with conditioner while all of my hair is still brushed back from the neck down. i’ve tried masks, gels, creams, etc… but now im wondering how it will go trying to detangle in my normal middle part!! thank you for going back to the basics!!!

Currently deep conditioning. I recently started using not your mother's conditioners to detangle in the shower and I've been loving the blood orange conditioner. I have to let it sit for a bit but after that the slip is amazing

I like washing my hair upside down because if find that the shampoo goes down the length of my hair better, its also a lot easier to wash your entire scalp I find. My hair is mostly type 2 a b c so I imagine it would be harder for tighter curl patterns
