  • We moved on to Morelia...at least for a little while. Morelia is known to be ‘the most Spanish city’ in Mexico and is loved by everyone we know. But it wasn’t love at first sight for us. In this video, we share our first impressions of the city and how they’ve evolved. Enjoy!

    ***Welcome***
    I got to tell you that I have been to the majority of the states in Mexico. I am only missing 4 states. So far Michoacán is my all time favorite. So much so, that moved my family here this summer...I mean all of Mexico is beautiful but there is something magical about Michoacán. The food. The food is out of this world and so unique. I love everything about living here... Michoacán is beautiful, full of history and culture. I know that Morelia is awesome 😎 and I have spent close to "no time" there. Literally I drove around Morelia to pickup my mother from the Airport this Halloween night. I'm definitely planning on spending some weekends out there.

    • @pomextravelador9151
      @pomextravelador9151 Před rokem +1

      @@BPe-ie9je there is a region rightfully called "Meseta Purépecha" better known as Meseta Tarasca.
      Uruapan and surrounding areas. The National park in the middle of the city. The Youngest Volcano "El Paricutín". The old town of San Juan ruins and the church poking out of the lava rock. Tingambato and it's pyramid of the moon
      The magical town of Pátzcuaro and the Island of Janitzio with the Statue of Morelos standing tall bigger than the statue of Liberty and bigger than Cristo Rendendor in Brazil. Tzintzuntzan and it's pre-Columbian ceremonial yacatas.
      Paracho- it's beautiful world famous handmade guitars.
      Santa Clara del Cobre- it's beautiful copper art and jewelry.
      I mean all the state and towns in it are amazing...but you have limited time I suggest Uruapan and Pátzcuaro. Don't forget to try the food. Few places that you can still eat Native American food with little too no European influence...other than "Carnitas". Michoacán is world famous for its Carnitas which we can thank the Spaniards for introducing swine into the region.

    How exciting! It’s all about learning, experiencing and venturing. Love your open and positive attitudes. I am leaving next week for my pre-trip to Queretaro. I am so excited to meet with my Relocation Agent and just embrace the city, the people and the culture of Queretaro. Used to live in Morelia for college, currently live in a Pueblo near the volcán Paricutín, Mexico’s youngest volcano! Also the ruins of San Juan de las cobijas a village that got covered by lava from the Paricutín. The capital city of Morelia, often called “the most Spanish city in Mexico,” is known for its stunning colonial architecture. Many of the city's historic buildings-such as the majestic 600-year-old cathedral-were constructed out of pink quarry stone.

Sorry about the start of things but as we know the most beautiful Cities in the World have issues! For example PARIS!! I loved visiting Paris but the side streets away from the center can be very scary! You really have to watch your back and learn the language fast to get around... At one point I asked a lady if she spoke English because I had got on the wrong train... She said YES... SO I asked her if I was going to a certain area if i should exit the train at the next stop, she said YES... I did and immediately regretted it... As a Airbnb host myself I can tell you that hosts agree to a contract forbidding "side bookings." The consequence of getting caught doing that are very serious. The host can be kicked off the platform and all future bookings cancelled without any warning. Hosts also have to agree that Airbnb can do that with no warning and no opportunity to negotiate. This seems to be a common practice in MX but as a US host I never take the chance. I know too many hosts that ended up burned!

    • @TheYarbros
      @TheYarbros  Před 2 lety +1

      I understand but Airbnb is not what it used to be for hosts or guests which is why the risk ends up being worth the reward for alot of hosts. MX, D.R.. and beyond.

    Hey guys, Morelia is cheap but you arrived at the worst moment, day of the dead, is the only time foreigners goes to Michoacan to visit places. Is better to walk around and see who is renting. Also making questions around helps. The richer area is on the hills but I like the sound to live. North of Morelia is where the poorer areas. Try the local food, is great. Gazpachos, local candies (there is a whole area for that) and tamales.

    Can you give a few tips on how you take the AirBnB conversation offline? Key words to throw out? Is this something you can really only do when you're in the town you want to stay in? Thanks!

    • @TheYarbros
      @TheYarbros  Před 2 lety +2

      We just ask if they are interested in talking off-line, tell them we're in town and would like to view the property in Airbnbs chat. Then we talk face to face. and they usually know exactly what it is. We saw 7 prooerties and only one person was not willing to negotiate off line.
      Yes, we've only done this while we were available for a face to face.

At the bar we got a little turnt and while everyone was floating w/ the stars we left while taking extra precautions while leaving as well. Thanks for your concern...sincerely.
