    I've had an Epson 800 for a couple of years now and it has been a pain to work with. It's always been a hassle to load paper and now it is not feeding properly. Of course, it's past warranty so, i'm hoping you can guide me on the best way to get it fixed. If you have any tips/tricks on how to get it to feed properly. Last time, after calling Epson and the H&B company several times for help, you were the only one who was able to help my uneven printing problem---THANK YOU!!!!

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 4 lety

      You need to be super specific about the actual feeding problems. As there can be many causes.

    • @carolinaelizabethart
      @carolinaelizabethart Před 4 lety

      Jose Rodriguez when I load the paper it will loads about four inches into the printer ( bottom, single paper loser). It makes a sound like its trying to feed for a minute so. Then it stops and signals paper jam.

      If you are in ta USA or CANADA I get all my supplies from www.precisioncolors.com but Inkowl.com is also very good. Otherwise I can not recommend any one outside North America simply because I do not know.

    Can I reset and refill the cartridge of canon pro 200..??

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 2 lety

      You can technically refill it though it's a blind refill. No resetting available. You would need to disable ink monitoring after each cart is declared empty. Not the best option with opaque cart bodies. You can't see how much ink is left. If you go empty and do not realize it and continue printing you will get your print head.

    Hello, thankyou for your video's, I started using refillable cartsridges for my epson p600, I filled them correctly, but after several prints the yellow starting smudging also viseble on prints and eventually did not print anymore. the other colors worked fine. The seller has been helpfull and told me to do purgeprints with yellow to push out the air. I did then put in an original cartirdge. But I have done that now for weeks and many many prints and still the yellow doesn't print, I am now with my fourth yellow cartidge, I thought the air should be removed by now? The cartridges are still full of ink but can not be used anymore,sadly. All the other colors print perfect and before the refillable cartridge, the printer printed perfect. Do you have any idea what more I can do? Thank you SO much!

    Hi, Great videos. Question: I have a p600 with only 4 months on it and was changing a cartridge when the "*Notice: Close the cartridge cover" popped up. I tried closing it but it won't register as closed. I bought a refurb machine and Epson offers no warranty. Am I stuck with having to go to a fix-it guy? Thanks for your time.

    Hi Jose,
    Trying to decide between a p600 and p400. I know the Inks are different and different color sets. I would mainly print on Epson Hot Press papers. I don't print B&W, only color. The price difference here is 150 USD between the two.
    My main concern is the switch between black inks on the P600, which does not occur on the P400. Also, here, two sets of inks for the p400 are cheaper than one for the p600.(so same capacity) (closer to 2.5 sets, actually). I used to use a Canon PRO 100, which I liked (despite the fact it forced borders on A3+ FAME paper), so I am not new in printing at home.
    Also, would the Orange and Red impact skin tones that much. Would the gradations be better on the P600, due to the shades of gray? And, as I said before, would the valve switch be much of an issue?
    Thanks a lot!
    Cheers,
    Mircea

      Can you print. Test Print from the driver? Not a nozzle check but the Test Print that checks computer to printer communication. You may have to reinstall it. MAC's can be a bit screwy with printer drivers if you just updated the OS.

    Awesome, thank you for the information. Always helpful.

  • @emmettturner9452
    @emmettturner9452 Před 6 lety

    I thought I was going to have to buy the adjustment program when I changed my Epson 3880 ink switch valve + assembly and my PK line was totally dry. Nope! I reused the old tubing and assembly to save all the other ink (other colors remained nearly primed) and then told it to do an few ink switches to the PK line, of course, this wasted some of the MK so I next told it to do an automatic nozzle check. When the optical sensor does not see any of a particular color it goes back to the resting position and flushes that channel into the waste tank before trying again. Since there is air in the lines you are essentially flushing air. It will do this a few times before the nozzle check fails but you can repeat it as many times as necessary until the air is out, the dampers are full, and the ink starts flowing. The automatic nozzle check thing should work for any channel on similar Epsons and I bet Canon behaves the same way.

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 6 lety

      Actually it can not just flush one channel The Pro-3800 does not have that capability like CANON printers.

    • @emmettturner9452
      @emmettturner9452 Před 6 lety

      Jose Rodriguez
      If you print a page full of blue it’s not going to use an equal amount of black, so the printer obviously has some control over dispensing from specific channels. ;)
      Remember: I’m not suggesting a cleaning cycle, which indiscriminately wastes ink. It wastes a small amount of the other colors when you switch black ink (PK/MK) but it’s still only “flushing” the black ink damper.
      When you do an automatic nozzle check on the 3880 it prints a grid of half the colors and then looks for missing squares. If they all check out then it prints a grid of the rest of the colors and checks those. If one does not check out then it goes to the cap stand and discharges ink from that channel before it resumes printing the grid. It will only do this a few times before erroring out (since it doesn’t want to print grids longer than a standard sheet of paper). When that happens you just start another automatic nozzle check. To prime my completely empty PK line I only had to do it three times after switching my black ink a few times
      Similarly, when you print 50+ sheets of pure black to flush the black lines it’s generally printing with your three blacks and not wasting much magenta, cyan, etc, but it is wasting a lot of paper. I’d much rather switch blacks a few times and then run the automatic nozzle check a few times. No idea how long it would take doing automatic nozzle checks alone for one of the other channels, but it’s surely better than the alternative (adjustment program + huge amount of wasted ink).

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 6 lety +1

      I agree with all that but printing Black will not just use black. Only if you use a RIP to print will it only use the pure channels. You will always composite colors. But yes you definitely can get the job done doing what you propose. Absolutely.

    • @emmettturner9452
      @emmettturner9452 Před 6 lety

      Jose Rodriguez Right, but it’s mostly going to be a mix of “your three blacks” (MK/PK, LK, LLK) with very little wasted. Supposedly most high-quality printers like this print some imperceptible yellow or cyan dots for forensic reasons and I wouldn’t doubt that it might use a negligible amount of other colors to print black, but it’s going to be a heck of a lot less waste than flushing the whole system to prime one line that got some air in it. :)
      The automatic nozzle check trick does print several other colors so there is waste there too but it’s negligible. If that didn’t work I was going to try using a syringe to pressurize the cartridge with the ink lines disconnected from the damper. Anything to avoid that software and ink waste! ;)

    off topic, but when i print with my epson sc-p600 the margins are always 2mm wider on the left margin. Any idea what could cause this issue? it happens in all software packages including lightroom, photoshop and affinity software. Hope you can help.

    • @cheo1949
      @cheo1949  Před 3 lety +1

      Normally your top or leading edge minimum margin will be a bit narrower than the bottom or trailing edge margin and the left and right should be equal. That is of course in portrait orientation not Landscape. Look at your Lightroom Print Module and check the minimum margins when not printing borderless.
