Quite informative! The explanation about the target goes vertical? That dirt you are playing in is a result of good management by the Park. Very dark and loose. Probably used annual rye grass. Notice the roots are quite deep! The neighboring state, i.e., Indiana uses a lot of cover crop. They claim the annual rye grass will penetrate as deep as 40". If it wasn't cold you would notice several earth worms. The park management deserves to be commended. The Manticore is certainly a deep machine. The only trash you dug was the button? Thanks for the video.
Addendum: That hole you winked at: 2:00 the VDI (Visual Discrimination Indication numbers) was 60? A button! That could be a historic button? You are becoming quite adept with the Manticore! I still am inclined to believe the Manticore has made the final turn towards the home stretch and even though it might be a photo lead, it is slightly ahead of the rest of the pack of the 2023 metal detectors, I believe it is ahead on depth! And on the horizon the possibilities are imminent for it moving ahead rapidly with the 2D screen. The screen with the configurability; after all, it is the only one in its' class?

It's not that hard to learn. Just gotta keep trying new settings and such. It's much like the etrac in such way you can screw up several setting but it will still hunt. It's a very well made performer

I can't help but notice after having recently conducted my own nickel test, how stable your nickel TID is. The Manticore is pretty amazing.
I tested three nickels 1941, 1958, 1980. I mixed them up and tested the TIDs many times not knowing what coin I had in my hand, the TID repeatability was 100%.
I then tested a handful of pennies. I saw a 10 to 20 year grouping of dates where the TID were the same.
None of these coins were found in the ground.
Note worthy observation about the Target Trace orientation of deep coins based on if their conductivity!
I listen to your signals and they all sound like one beep. I think that may because you're wiggling the center of the coil over the target to get an accurate TID and not sweeping the coil past the target.
If a coin is on edge you generally get two beeps, providing you sweep the entirety of the coil past the coin.
If a coin is laying horizontally you typically get three beeps.
I got that tip from loren Lemcke.
    Great video! Tks!

I think if I didn't have the 2d interface I would have called that coin as being on edge. The M is amazing. I'm not even pushing for depth and as you'll see in upcoming videos I dig a few coins at 11+ inches.

I think it would be a good idea for you to get a pin pointer tip protector for your pin pointer or you'll be buying a new pin pointer soon. Protectors are cheaper than pointers. Other than that, good video.

My son made me a 3d print protector. I just never pit it on. I need to find it.

This was a good test to show the accuracy of the manticore on nickel signals (even at above avg depths). Are you still digging the occasional tab (or parts of) with that notched region? I also see you’re hunting in All Terrain Trash reject. Is that just a personal choice (instead of AT Low conductors) or are you noticing any difference between the two modes I mentioned above detecting various targets? Also, what recovery speed were you operating at? Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼

I've been trying all search modes to see which is better for my hunting. They all go deep. My speed was set on 3 but now I'm settling in at 5 for just about everything. Yes, I dig very little tabs. Most are beaver tails, broken or bent over tabs. Very little trash actually

I didn't think I was in trash reject mode. I was mostly using high and low conductors. I do notice a difference in high and low conductor modes. I get a little better hit on deep targets on high conductors than low. However I can still get the same hit with low conductors but not quit as strong. Low conductors was super hot on small foil and slaw. High conductors really doesn't like those targets. But I have 0-14 discriminated out so it's not an issue with AT/LC now. But if you're a micro jewelry hunter this dog will hunt in low conductors.
