Ken Tizzard and Music For Goats is the product of Newfoundland musician Ken Tizzard as he returns to his roots combining his passion for folk, rock, bluegrass, punk and country.
For 25 years Tizzard has filled out the low end as the propulsive bassist behind The Watchmen, co-founder and bassist for Canada’s 90’s rock band Thornley (aka Big Wreck) and also with Newfoundland’s greatest troubadour Ron Hynes.
Ken Tizzard and Music For Goats is made up of a cast of characters that have been moving about in Tizzard’s life for several years. All discovered in Tizzard’s current hometown of Campbellford, Ontario, Neil Lucy(guitar), Dave Lawrence(drums) and Ken Grant(bass) the Goats are ready to share their new sound.
As well, the development of The Whiskey Wednesday Show has grown into a seven camera, 24 channel audio weekly livestream hosting guests from Rick Mercer and William Prince to Matt Mays and Bob Izumi and Joey “Shithead” Keithley from DOA. Songs and stories every week with your host Ken Tizzard and Music For Goats.
It is now January 2024 and I am once again looking to release another album of original music with the current line-up of Music For Goats; Neil Lucy (guitar) Ken Grant (bass) and Dave Lawrence (drums) and Steve Dagg (RIP - drums). This album titled THE DAGG SESSIONS celebrates the songs created before drummer Steve Dagg was diagnosed with Cancer. After a year long battle of treatments Steve passed away in the winter of 2023. We had recorded the drums for the entire record in September before Steve’s illness was terminal.
Dave Lawrence, a newcomer to Campbellford, was recommended by a friend and to my amazement was living just down the road from me, actually same street. We met up, jammed and Dave has been settling into the new role while navigating the massive repertoire and as well finding his place in a grieving machine while remaining positive and looking forward.
The Dagg Sessions is available on all platforms on April 30, 2024
The Dagg Sessions will be available on vinyl thanks to contributors who purchased sections of the back album cover in order to help out with up front costs. YEs, we are sell outs…
As for style of this record, I have to say it fits in with the Americana genre pretty well as if combines folk, country, rock and pop into a collection of songs that once again document a time and place in my own personal history.

Thanks for making the video. It was very helpful. I have nearly the same gear that you have. CQ-18t, ATEM Mini extreme ISO, U4s in ear…and now you have me interested in the ART Voice Channel. Was unaware of it. Been using it very long? I’m here in Las Vegas with a 4 piece band. Jim

Hey Jim, thanks for the kind words. I love the QC, it is so intuitive. The ART Voice Channel is amazing for the price. Of course people will say there is better out there, and I am sure that is true, but for most applications the ART Voice Channel is all you need and it won't break the bank... cheers
