@Qubec Chibo yeah many people fled from him but a few times his tactic was to retreat and then get the attackers into an ambush situation. he litterally retreated to defeat them because they broke ranks and followed in no ordered fashion

The Kroxigors are actually doing something really important here. They are being a bunch of balance of power to lose by retreating them which triggers the army losses earlier, making it a lot less likely you accidentally get the Carnasaur killed (it probably would have died in attempt #3 if the kroxs had not been there).

Man, it really puts the ai buffs in perspective watching the blessed carnosaur's hp melt the moment infantry touch it.
i think the burst damage came from the 2 archer units. the 2 infantry units just helt the carno in place.
but yeah.... i feel your point.
that is why, if you want a challenge that doesn't feel like bullshit you should just increase the campaign dificulty instead.

@@Nickzorner idk man i think hard is not as bullshit and you can still use all the infantry, just enemy infantry will be more tough to kill. as it should be. (because we outplay the AI a lot and thus the AI needs buffs)
anyways, this is a very subjective topic and no matter my opinion, yours could differ 180° and it would still be legit for both of us.
i personally like to play on vh / vh and for me just legendary battle diff is bullshit cuz it makes my infantry way too weak.

I actually use a similar cheese in my legendary very hard norsca campaigns. Losing battles as norsca has a chance of giving you a follower that has the leadership reduction effect. So farming losses as nosca is an actual tactic to build those doomstacks to instarouts enemies via leadership damage.
You could also use it to farm mercenaries for bretonnia. Any bit of extra replenishment is always welcome.

lol . Some may honestly think that cheesing is not playing the game the proper way but for me legendary is way too hard without cheese and I have a couple of world domination campaigns with different races on legendary difficulty. I wouldn't have been able to do it without cheese. The worst part is you don't even have ordinary saves so if you screw up so once you lose that lose is in that save file no matter what . .
@@angelicking2890 i learned back in the days of Diablo 2's hardcore characters that there is no such thing as a losing dozens of hours of play for one mistake, unless you want that to happen to you.
When i play legendary i manually save every 10-15 turns or so (at least in the beggining), by COPYING the save file somewhere else on my drive !

@@unqiuehandle Well, good. When you play MP against good players you lose and if you like the challenge you learn to be better at the game. Legendary should give you the same feel not just "Hi I'm the AI and 5 turns in your campaign I have 2-3 full armies that you can't kill unless you abuse the mechanics" bs.
I love playing on normal where I can build balanced armies and playing the first 10 turns is awesome but the AI falls short and most times they start to get wrecked after turn 50.
@@unqiuehandle That's why we have dificulty settings. either way you would still manage as long as you dont screw up. smart enemy AI would only force you to play smarter (not only in battle but on the map too).
@@AwayWithYouVileBeggar the design issue goes beyond the AI. AI capable of playing the game doesn't even exist, so they have to deal with that by giving subpar AI cheats
The actual problem is that TW games are too "open", there's too many choices to make and its impossible to program and AI to act intelligently with so many options.

One of the most amazing things I discover via this channel is cheeses, bugs, and mechanics that CA is rarely clear on, but are, in fact, in the game.
I've had this sort of "broken leadership bug" before, during battles at sea, where a broken unit just decides to keep fighting cuz why not. In my case it would trigger on the AI's Kharibdysses, they just wouldn't actually rout when broken and would keep fighting. After a while they would actually stop being broken altogether... RIP to my poor peasant archers, didn't stand a chance
I've never faced such a thing and hope not to do so . I did however face a weird bug where in a quest battle the skaven left , litterally all units routed , but somehow the battle didn't give me a victory but that was only once. Warhammer is pretty much bug free for me.
I knew this would happen if units came on in reserve after Army Losses was inflicted, but didn't know this was a thing.

The ai defensive position is something interesting and huge cheese potential, you can destroy multiple armies with just a couple of units if you are very careful. I just destroyed full skaven army with two cavalery units and a lord to bait one of their units at a time into a deadly trap. You Have to know: NO MISSILE and NO SPELL DAMAGE on both sides are allowed to exist for this to work, so forget yours and waste theirs first. You can heal and buff just fine. But only do that cheese if you really have to, I had to kill 3 armies in a row with level one lord and RoR units, so no choice.
P.S. want more tips? ok units that are fast will atack first and will chase you down really far sometimes, and if you fight too close to the army they all will try to attack but if you are just on the edge of their agro they will turn back and forth as if they are not sure what to do so you can keep fighting for a bit longer.
Whenever I think I must have seen all of Legend's cheese now, he reaches under the counter and pulls out a whole other cheesewheel.

The thing is, I was born without patience, you need patience for most of Legend´s cheese works. I already knew about the retreats, you can use them for arrow replenishment as well. In sieges you can pretty much win with siege weapons only by retreating once you are out of ammo and attacking again. Like I wrote though, I am a very impatient player :).
Same, especially as I play on a toaster and some loading times are longer than the battles, so I usually play a lot with just autoresolve XD
Don't worry, even mid-range, dedicated gaming rigs can have loooooooong loading times in this game, if the game is stored on a HDD instead of SSD...
Or maybe it's just my 160+ mods doing it... XD
@@EagleScoutmano nah, it still takes a good while to load even on SSDs, I run a few moderate mods (respect button, reskinned banners and such) and most 20+ vs 20+ fights still take a good 15-30sec to load. You can get the occasional quick loaded fight that only takes 5sec, but what actually determines it I have no clue about, since the long loading times still occur with small early game armies.
@@WondderWaffel 20-30 seconds... I'm talking about 3-5 minutes to load a battle, despite having absolutely zero lag/delay during the fight itself....

Now I want to see MercyTheMad figure out how to get this to happen on like turn 10 and exploit it to get to level 40. Basically the vampire vassal cheese but with no downsides!
At first I thought he was going to describe a get-out-of-jail free tactic, but the life wizzard was so important here. It's still OP, but not as applicable as I hoped it would be. I think I might use it, but I feel like it's too much. If I see 4 armies, I'll use this to get rid of 1. Otherwise, I'll just take 3 good defeats and then go for the victory.

I mean, Wind of Death? When used against your armies sure because that's trash against single entity units, but when against the AI, you CANNOT tell me there's something more satisfying than wiping out an entire battle line of infantry with a single spell.

Question. If i play with like 10mods and send in a really difficult battle will Legend still cover the battle or is no-mods a requirement? I personally enjoy playing with certain mods so idk when will i ever find myself playing without them
He doesn't want to download a bunch of mods for these so yeah no mods is the requirement.
He has said something like as long as it doesn't mess with his downloading process I.E. if you have 1-2 mods that are like the single button respec that doesn't really change anything that doesn't bother him but on a whole Emil is right he really doesn't like doing things with mods as it inhibits his ability to download it easily (or something like that)

i did this with a single low lvl lore of metal wizard once, took an eternity. just ran enemy army in circles on max speed. retreat, get my magic back. over and over. they started with two armies lol
