Bugman's treat is a unique event you can get for Grombi's armor quest, you are given a dilemma and you can get either extra campaign movement +50% or the regen + unbreakable, either lasts three turns
Thank you captain, I'll send you cheese as payment
that explains why I've never seen that effect, I'd never pick anything over movement range +50%
is it 1 time thing ?
@@devilsmessanger Yes, you can only get it once
I've gotten the event a few times when playing as Grombrindal, where they got some barrels of bugmans. 'Open the casks' gives that faction-wide buff for unbreakable and regen
Who needs slayers when you got alcohol?
any clue how to trigger it ?
@@devilsmessanger Its one of his questlines I believe
Can you imagine this game without force march mechanics?
What would Legend say in every single video instead of "we've been caught on force march"?
We’ve been cought mid warp teleporting by four full stacks of nurglings
And you used to be able to retreat on force march when 1-st game came out, lol
@@AlasimT I'd love to see what marching around with 4 full stacks of nurglings would accomplish.
We’ve been caught in the underway
Ambushed
2 videos in the same day? Sigmar approves this.
This action has my consent.
I like chokepoint battles when it's only the one crossing point. i'll have to make note of this strat for the double chokepoint maps.
the regeneration is from one of grombrindals quests. u can choose to have a feast after a fight which gives all armies regen for 3 turns or so
The garrison: "We have come to fulfill our oath my lord! We will kill many a greenskin until we take our last breath!"
Legend: "Go on then."
The garrison: "Wha-"
Legend: "That last breath business, get working on it."
That artilly bug where they ignore guard is never going to get fixed.
I swear it’s 10x worse in sieges too, seems to trigger when units pull off walls and artillery just follows them trying to get an angle
Cannot tell you the amount of times I've lost an artillery piece because I'm dealimg with other things and the damn thing decides to commit suicide.
The siege one is obviously annoying but generally i think guard mode works but is slightly misunderstood when it comes to artillery.
Guard mode means the artillery will not move / pursue a unit or target once it is out of sight or out of range, however if you target something and the very first initial chance to shoot is either out of range, or no clear line of sight, the artillery will move to try and get a shot
If that makes sense? If not, then i’m just terrible at explaining things :-)
@@johnnybravo2926 it triggers when the artillery unit loses it's target and it doesn't have an immediate new target... they randomly seem to walk forward and "reposition"
2per day now ? Great !
I didn’t play WH2 much in last 4 months (waiting WH3), but I still watch Legend’s with pleasure… 2 per day is cool 😎 👌
Same. Just gonna play CK3 until WH3 release day.
Same vibe but a good empire run can change your mind
I got into a similar type of battle (as Clan Pestilens, I think with my Skrolk army, against 2 or 3 Dark Elves doomstacks) on that same map type, and I took the same position. I wasn't in force-march though, so I rained fire upon them-them until I was out of ammo, then retreated just as they broke my front lines (stupid Skaven infantry; it's awesome that the map border is right behind you), then wiped them all up in the next battle. I feel proud to have made the same decision as Legend :D
I guess Legend recorded as many vids as possible before the embargo for the WH3 campaign recordings is lifted, programmed the videos to release on different days, and suddenly realised he had recorded one extra video XD Anyway great to watch them both. Looking forward to watch your Tzeench campaign tomorrow
Lmao! "I'm sure you can get that." WTF! He does have it! He's fucking using it. Trying to diminish someone else's accomplishment?
Thanks for the double update mate
Ironically, I never saw this map despite playing 3 Dawi campaigns. Or at least I do not remeber it. Also, this Dawi play goes in the book also.
Garrison, time to fulfil your oaths.
I´m fairly sure there exists a sand/desert map version with this exact layout as well, they reused several assets with just some reskinning.
Given the overall scale of the game, this makes sense, as it saves time and money that then can go to aspects of the game that matters more.
That's the map for Khailida's venom staff quest.
@@Robmon3048 So i was right.
Thanks, wasn´t sure where or in which context that map appeared.
... i should finally keep playing my Khalida campaign, haven´t done anything on it for nearly a year...
It's been a fairly constant critique of warhammer total war that the maps are not diverse enough, they could've cut a DLC race and added a map pack instead.
That's a poor excuse that I hope we won't see in WH3...
@Dreymon Green Still haven´t played Snitch, Queek, Or any of the High Elves except Alith Anar, Gelt or Manfred von Carstein, Throg and so many more...
Though you can just use the "Recruit defeated LLs" mod, though you won´t get their faction mechanic with that nor the missions that came before the level at which you get them.
Dwarfs don't have magic! "Ahm gonna cast 'Mass Perforate', laddie!" *fires cannons*
I literally learned just now, watching this video, that you can select your reinforcing armies and still rearrange their banners and runes and such
@10:11
"Alright what do we got?"
"GROMBRINDAL!"
xD
Two videos a day. Awesomee
Double Cheese Day? Hail be!
Two videos in one day? Yes please
2:07 Dwarfs are natural sprinters!
Ive had great results using a kind of crescent formation of melee, heroes, and lord, with gaps, instead of a staunch line of beards. Ranged units sit in the middle in square formation with the artillery behind. It really compliments Irondrakes, Thunderers, and Cannons if you set up at good angles. The enemy front line just gets shredded easily, and once they close in artillery changes targets to the ranged units. The only drawback is when the AI occasionally exploits the gaps and rushes the ranged units, but usually they will crowd around your melee line and just die.
I like this use of chokepoints alot actually, I don't even think this is cheese because it's a perfectly feasible scenario where a force is contesting a crossing using artillery. This kind of thing happened/happens to this day in warfare without a doubt. Especially if there's high ground, you can't choose where the terrain is, just how you use it.
about the organization thing, Legend-
That's the main reason I use control groups. Not to actually control the units but to organize them quickly just by sorting them. Its really effective and you never actually have to hit the number key to use it if you dont want to. You can even sort them seperately(I often do) so starting ranged units are on group 2 and reinforcing ones are on control 3 so I dont screw with my formations.
So instead of control groups just considering them organization groups. Give it a try?
My control groups are usually like this:
1 - Heroes, important units meant to take down enemy heroes/monsters
2 - Fragile, important units that shouldn't be in a melee fight (mages...)
3 - Important melee infantry that shouldn't be target of enemy missiles (elite infantry)
4 - Meat Shields, The units that are intended to die first, if any has to.
5 - Ranged units 6 - Cavalry 7 - Artillery
@@rumplstiltztinkerstein Cool, that's interesting how its like straight inverted of mine lol.
On a set piece large battle where you start with everything on the field or have a good reinforcement so its not an issue mine are
1- frontline
2- archers/gunners
3- cavalry
last- artillery
5-8 are subgroups of those. So for instance if I want to run 2+ cav formations another one would go on 4 and artillery on 5.
My heroes I bunch in with other groups to lead them typically, or make them independent actors that dont have to have a hotkey.
@@booradley6832 Very interesting. That must be why I'm so bad with factions like the elves. I'm good with focusing individual groups of enemies at a time. But when it comes to maneuvering the entire army, I'm terrible.
I like vampire counts because you just rely on spells for 99% of the fight. I like vampire coast because once you set your army in a slope, you can't move your army much or the gunners will be unable to focus properly. I like dwarves because they are too slow to maneuver well.
I'm gonna test your method with factions I have a hard time playing, then see if I end up being better at them.
@@rumplstiltztinkerstein
If you have trouble with high elves, corner camp. starting from the corner building out it goes: Bolt thrower, archers, sea guard, spearmen, heroes. The only control you have to do is picking targets. Just be sure to use guard mode or it fucks up all the time.
As you get more used to micromanaging their targets you'll be able to apply it to larger scale fights. Also multiplayer, you might get stomped a few times but you'll learn faster micro real quick.
@@booradley6832 thanks!
Twofer! Woooo!
Thanks Legend!
those dwarf formations were photogenic af
Grombrindal is a beast holding all those urks like that
I know you probably already know this, but there is an option in the settings to make it so that control groups are NOT locked. I usually use ctrl+1 (or whatever number you want) to put them in a group but with that option disabled you don't have to hit the lock button after.
I'm a bit surprised Legend thought it would be easier to win with large armies here. I know its not always "oh enemy has 40 units, don't control large armies" but I think it might have been possible to slip three fast unit past the choke and just wait for missile units to start arriving (and get butchered) so you effectively have 3 melee units neutralize a whole bunch of missile units, a good trade in balance of power if you can pull it off. In non-chokepoint field battles sometimes this is the only contribution tier 2 melee infantry can make if melee infantry don't synergize with the rest of the units, although with chokepoints pretty much only fast units can pull this off during the small period when you rout some units at the choke which can let some guys through.
2 vids in one day, must be my lucky day
Legend has been enjoying choke lately...
a dwarf unit does something dumb ' thats going in the book'
That second battle was super interesting too
This is getting out of hand, now there are two of them.
This episode was probably planned for tomorrow :D
Guess it was since nothing today
Double upload? Nice
the garrison all did a quick slayer oath
dwarves ARE the chokepoint!
Gee Legend, how come your mom lets you upload TWO videos?
Oh but Legend I miss your all day streams
Legend, are you alright on your vacation? I think you uploaded the second video by mistake lol
Viewer discretion is advised.
Thousands of da boyz was killed during the making of this video.
Any chance this was released early because you had this planned for Monday but got something bigger to make content on through the creator partner program, and there is big WHIII news & content dropping tomorrow?
Pointius maximus
Two vids for one day, probably we got incoming news for wh3 tomorrow
Thanks for the video
Had to double take cause of the double upload yes-yes!
GG always LTW :)
Let's hit 400k! LET'S GO!
What’s going on Double upload ?

I thought this was a reupload of the empire choke point battle the other day lol
Yeah, the minimap on the thumbnail looks the same and the arrows are in the right places xD
2 VIDEOS? WTF did I die and go to Total War Heaven?
This video reminds me how much I hate Waaagh, especially those with huge amounts of tanky black orcs bleugh
The sad thing is even with the AI cheats nothing counters the inevitable order tide, it's such a boring thing now as it can only be prevented by the player defeating high elves, dwarves AND empire by yourself otherwise every campaign ends up being the same. Occasionally Dark Elves can take out the high elves but the chaos invasion just destroys their power base so whoever is left out of empire, bretonnia, dwarves becomes the new order tide.
I would say every few campaigns I get a variation of greenskins defeating dwarves, dark elves defeating high elves, and/or (more rarely) vampire counts defeating the empire. Mors/Eshin can also snowball and take over the entire badlands and mountains, sometimes.
Apparently there's a mod that'll allow you to tweak the power level of minor factions so they persist longer and act more aggressive in taking territory. I've never used it before but if you're bored of the order tide it's an option.
@@seanpkrueger My very first Avelorn campaign saw the Empire crumble to the Vampires. Only Balthasar Gelt, his one city and his dream remained of the Empire by the time I arrived to help out. This was around turn 130 since I was pushing up to cheese Chaos Invasion.
I see all sorts of crazy shit with every campaign, tbh. Sometimes the green tide or eshin vermintide washes over the old world, sometimes the races of order hold.
Sometimes the cult of pleasure swallows Ulthuan, sometimes it turns into a big protracted war.
You need to change up who you play as.
hm two videos in one day. maybe that means he has news about warhammer 3 embargo drop but already had another video ready🤔
Man I just can’t.. what is that profile pic? It looks like ZywOo
Landmark Tierlist?
Actually this is nice!
Fun watching the dwarfs, but I don’t enjoy playing them.
Double cheese today?
I've been watching a few of these streams , the aponant rarely ever seems to stay in formation... it's like watching hoards of barbarians going in on waves an one by one getting picked off..
That's how you cheese legendary
I always wondered if all TW games are like this when it comes the reinforcing?
I mean it would make A WHOLE LOT more sense if an army reinforces as a whole since many just do not work if only a part of it shows up and once the troops are removed from the battlefield the reserves of the remaining army #3 are showing up and after those are through the onbes of #4
It is just a big mess like it is at the moment when there are more than 2 vs 2 armies fighting each other :S
I think this is due to in game performance limitations. Look at what happens with summons spams, now imagine every battles being like this.
It used to be different in older games or at least in Medieval 2 and Rome 1. There every army would show up at the beginning of a battle at once (or in the case of Rome 1 later or not at all if you were unlucky).
Does someone know condition for choke point map to appear?
Look closely the map
Fight at chokepoints? I mean what do you expect the conditions to be?
Look at the larger campaign map if there's a river/canyon etc where your army is standing it's likely to be a chokepoint battle.
@@Lones555 Oh... 750 hours in game and didn't know that... ty!
But Legend, chokepoints are really good...
They are really good though. If you can hold them, you can get vastly better performance out of your magic/artillery/whatever other AoE DPS than what Legend had in this battle. That is of course, assuming you can actually get a good line of sight on the chokepoint and can muster all your units in appropriate positions in time.
WHERE IS MY DAILY CONTENT
the first battle is unlosable for an experienced player, for Legend it looks like a joke.
it s always good to see some dwarves kill a bunch of stupid orcs.. it changes the day for the better ahaahha
where you messeed up is you need to put the dwarf that is too angry to die in the chokepoint solo. he will do fine if hes leveled properly. literally doesnt need much of an army
Battle of the bulge ? :D
i hate how the ai "doesnt expect" a player to literally just stand still in a corner. its so stupid and i dont know why after like 2 decades CA hasnt been able to make genuinely good battle ai
maybe it's because what you are asking is incredibly difficult to do?
@@ThePereubu1710 What a novel concept :D. But yeah you are right. People vastly underestimate how much work goes into the most rudimentary of conditional 'AI'. "It's just a bunch of if statements" yeah for hundred of thousands of different conflicting cases. And that's the best even the very best gaming companies can do. They really don't have the know how and resources to make something like DeepMind even though people somehow expect them to.
@@ThePereubu1710 yeah its not like theyve been doing this for literally 20 years now. how crazy of me to expect them to improve a core aspect of their franchise
@John Constantine I mean the engine has at least been upgraded to handle magic and flying units so you can't really say they haven't changed it since Empire. Pretty dumb takes all around here. Show me a strategy game with good AI and I'll be enlightened to what 'proper' game developers make.
@@ruukinen completely agree and even if this game was 50nyears old thaat doesnt change that its incredibly difficult to make good ai that can counter everyone and everything. if you make an ai that understand corner campaign it could be that it always checks for thaat even if not necessarily and then ai moves to loads of places just to see if the player maybe cornercamps
QUEEEEEEEEEEK
Same game utilizing the same strategies at nauseam, does it ever get boring?
