- The hardest matchup for Ryze is normally good zoning mages (Orianna, Syndra, Azir) since he is somewhat short range. During lategame though you can normally beat them if you catch them plus you are tankier.

Another neat trick with Ryze, if u have an enemy side inhib down and u are sieging for another turret, u can TP the minions to that lane.
Another neat trick with Ryze is that before you click "Lock In", you have a choice of over 160 better champs to choose

Kinda what happened to Kat in the first game. She was losing lane but went bot, got a double and carried the game (disgusting champ btw)
It’s why we try to say don’t fucking surrender at 3 minutes. Most games are decided by fights at 20-25 minutes, even in low ELO, you still have a really decent chance of winning the game even if your entire team is getting shit on. It’s when they get baron that the odds really start shifting badly.

I miss the version of Ryze that had a mechanic that did something on his E when you last hitted a minion. I think it was the same that gave him a shield when you spent your runes.

Flux irl is actually used to lower the temperature something melts at. It doesn't cause it to heat up faster.

It's too bad neither of these games really let Ryze breathe. Felt like you were hard focused both times. Still did great of course but I'm sure it's frustrating to have two long games on a scaling champ but not have any real pop off moments for the video. Either way, I think it shows that Ryze is a really *consistent* champ, especially against more AD-leaning teams. Was happy to see 1 game full damage and the other Frozen Heart.

Comet + corrupt pot is slept on. It's super strong in lane when you play against melee. Everfrost is really strong too for massive lockout and when you play in d2+ games are shorts.

And also, since u went frozen heart the second game, how about an abyssal mask? It doesnt giveMana anymore but magic pen and good defensive stats

Pekin just commenting 2nd day to tell you to buy dark seal in an early 1 for 1 trade where you die first and they burn to ignite or turret after you. If you buy right after you die and before they do you’ll get the stacks 😎😎. You’ll see it a lot later on with a mejais in team fights where death timers are long and you get a wipe after you die but don’t forget it early in those matchups where you know you can trade 1 for 1. Get that boost 😎

Some of those fights it felt like your main problem was just how easy it was for people to get away from you. I wonder if going phase rush and rylais is the play to ensure that you can distance properly and chase people down when needed.

That second game was obviously a group in discord. That play at 54:38 was too coordinated for anything else. Besides all the other coordinated ganks. Sucks being solo against that.

Ryze as he is isn't fun anymore. With the playstyle riot tries to force you to play him I'd rather just play Taliyah. He may function (barely) in soloq currently. But that may change based upon whatever happens in pro play.

I don't understand why someone would pick Ryze tbh. I love the champ, but if you want a scaling AP battle Mage, Kassasin/Vlad/Cassio or Kayle (even Swain) will always be better even earlier in the game.
The 2nd game is a perfect example of the typical Ryze Game where you are kinda useless and had 0 impact before lvl 16 and then you start playing but the game is already one-sided at this point.
Don't get fooled by the 1st game where he had no jgl/supp pressure on him and played vs the easisest Ryze match up so he got 4items lvl 16. This is 1 in 10th game and it's not even a win haha.
The problem is that Ryze is good in a team because he scale/waveclear/sidelane/tanky etc. and can bring the point and clcik cc needed for any pick. Basically all his kit is team oriented so if the champ get too strong in soloQ, in pro team games it will become a monster. that's why Riot is extremly careful with him (like Azir tho).
