I am so limited in how I can exercise with all the plates and screws on my spine. I found your videos 3 weeks ago and I have been doing them every morning (except Sundays) since. I do your after dinner 10 minute video after dinner every afternoon. As you stress in your videos let your body be your guide, so when you have a move that I can’t do, like the knee lifts, I just walk a bit faster during those segments. Will I ever be thin again, maybe not. But I know that I am getting stronger and healthier each and every day! You and your beautiful Mom are a great inspiration to me!!! Blessings to you both!!! 🙏😇🥰💪

Hi April, I hope you are right about how one can loose belly fat. I have gained a lot of belly fat recently because of a health issue and was on an oral sterioid. Looking forward to your new video on melting belly fat. Hope it works. I have always being able to loose weight by diet and exercise previously. But, not this time. So happy this information is helpful. Regarding fat loss, your body gains and loses weight where it wants to. Everyone is different and hormones and menopause can affect this as well. So losing fat on your inner thighs occurs with overall weight loss when you decrease calories through a healthy diet and burn calories with exercise. Lower body strength training can increase muscle in that area that will build strength and increase the burning of calories because muscle burns more calories at rest than fat. Enjoyed this workout. Like the tempo and was able to keep up. Covid put an end to my slimish body, now have the dreaded belly. Have tried to cut down on eating. Any information on a diet for OAPs?

As far as measuring our waist, you say to measure at belly button level, but what about those of us who are high-waisted and our belly button is more at hip level? My belly button is literally 6 inches below what I think of as my waist, which is the area between my hip bones and ribs. If I measure at my belly button, I get a measurement that is about 8 inches more than if I measure between my hips and ribs, and only 2 inches less than the fullest part of my hips. Directions for measuring waist circumference seem to always assume a certain body type, leaving me unsure whether I should measure my actual waist or at belly button level.
We understand. The Heart Foundation offers these tips on measuring your waist: - 1) Find the top of your hip bone and the bottom of your ribs. 2) Breathe out normally. 3) Place the tape measure midway between these points and wrap it around your - waist loose enough to fit one finger inside the tape.
I'm not fat. But I've noticed that I have gained weight around my waist. Would this exercise work for someone who is sixty years old?
Losing weight at your waist and overall occurs when you decrease calories through a healthy diet and burn calories with exercise. At 60 or any age, HIIT workouts can help reduce belly fat. HIIT workouts burn more calories/fat in a shorter period of time. They include raising and lowering your heart rate in intervals such as 30 seconds of exercise -- at the end of an exercise interval you should be a little out of breath. I recommend doing HIIT workouts 1 to 3 times a week with at least one day of rest between each session to let your body recover. On the other days, you can do lower intensity cardio/walking workouts, strength training, stretching, or rest. Listen to you body and rest if you feel soreness. ❤️
Can we consider that walking 40-45 minutes every day is equivalent to this moderate intensity cardio you are talking about ?
Moderate intensity exercise is physical activity that raises your heart rate and breathing, but you can still talk while doing it. 40-45 minutes of this level of exercise everyday puts you well beyond the recommended 150 minutes of moderate intensity cardio per week. One suggestion is to intersperse the moderate intensity cardio in your daily walks -- for example, devoting 20-25 minutes to this level and 20 minutes at a lower pace during your daily walks. Keep up the great work! 👏
