First, this almost as heavy as the S63 E Performance and is also slower than S63 E Performance
Mercedes is better when we're talking about hybrid powertrains, we only have E53 and has the same amount of power as the old E63 and 0.2sec slower than this bmw
I'm sure they gone backwards, GT63S E Performance amazing performance even being heavier than the antecessor
I think know the fight isn't against bmw, Porsche is moving towards the hybrid powertrains and they found a way to make it quicker and not heavy at all, so bmw is more like a midfield performance german cars now like audis...
      Second... this is ugly asf

@@sir_kala First, you're talking nonsense. The S63 E Performance 0-100 kph time is 3.02 seconds. BMW quotes this new M5 as 0 - 100kph in 3.5 seconds but we all know BMW massively underrates their performance numbers and they've done this for years.
Joe Achilles test drove this new M5 and recorded a 0 - 100 kph time of around 3s flat. FACT. So this M5 is as quick or marginally quicker than the S63 E Performance. I'm expecting a 0 - 100kph time of 3s or less when reviewers have their hands on the production model.
Second, design is subjective and regardless this car will sell like hotcakes. Last year the M division recorded their highest sales in the company history. No doubt this M5 will continue that trend.

So bad sewing quality 😢 Take a look the front seats 😮 Crumpled artificial leather ... Absolutely improperly tailored seat! We in Bulgaria have a company called "Vilner", which makes probably the most exclusive salons for passenger cars in the world. The Croatian company that owns "Bugatti" -> Rimac order their interiors of the hyper electric car "Nevera" in Sofia to master Atanas, the owner of "Vilner". This brand new car is for a major replacement of the entire interior strategy right in the "Vilner" studio in Sofia. High class genuine nappa leather and a completely different line of upholstery and lining material.
The rest isn't "much" either 👎

    Engine is 585hp, F90 was 635hp.
Overall its only 100bhp more, despite weighing same as a G63 AMG
    0-60 is SLOWER than F90

@@hi8636 Well I’ve driven the m5 competition with 617 hp 553 lb ft of torque and that is more than enough. I’ve also been in a tuned one with 1000 hp and 800 lb ft of torque. Once you go the new route, forget about the fun stuff you can do with the m5 competition

    • @blackpanda7612

Well there's a thing called emissions regulations and world governments are becoming increasingly strict on CO2 emissions. Its the reason everyone is going hybrid. You have to improve on performance while undercutting CO2 regulations and the best way to do that is either hybrid or full EV. Developing big NA or forced induction engines while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions costs car companies millions, and these cars are not volume sellers like a Toyota Yaris or Corolla. They are low volume vehicles so to make a profit you have to develop with less R&D expenditure for each model line. There's a reason BMW shares the S58 with a dozen of its models: M3, M4, X3 M, X4 M, and M2. Reduce R&D costs by sharing the XM engine with the new M5 and stick electric motors in their to aid with performance. Could you get a reliable 700hp from the S68 alone without it blowing up going to the grocery store?
      Nope.

@@blackpanda7612 we know all this. We just don’t like it. I worked for bmw. I’ve driven the M5 comp etc. I had a bmw 330i mpkg as a lease while working there. I’ve driven the M8 comp and all the variants. We just don’t like change.
Trust me when I say this, the government fat cats in parliament in Ottawa Canada where I live, they don’t give a shit about co2. All they care about is lining their friends pockets wth as much money in contracts so that when they leave office they can collect the kickbacks and their pensions simultaneously. And that’s a fact Jack. I know because I have friends who work in the government ie: in the justice department of all places.
      Go figure.
      Btw
