- Rujuta Diwekar is a well-known dietitian and suggests to eat what is being cooked at one's home. She suggests eating those vegetables which are grown locally and not somewhere abroad. She says that one must escape from packaged food and 'sweet' intake from ice-creams, soft drinks etc.

I was 68 kg and I easily came down to 58 kg but then I was stuck in a plateau even after working out for 2-4 hours.I read her book lose your weight don’t lose your mind and I followed it. And now I am 55 kg. I eat a lot and I don’t even workout now. Thankyou so much. She really knows what she’s speaking.

I am surprised at the negative comments. She is talking common sense and reminding us that there is a reason why native/ local foods are better and cheaper instead of following the West blindly and eating foods not grown in our environment. I agree with all your points, except sugar.. It is not our traditional food.. And in south we don't use sugar in Panchamruta, we use banana dates & jaggery ..

Panchamrit does not contain sugar. It contains jaggery & honey. Cow Milk, curd, honey, liquid jaggery, and ghee are mixed together
Panchamrit contain sugar, you can see ayurvedic text ,in their shlokas their is written sharkara not gud( jaggery), eariler sugar was not manufactured in factory.In ayurvedic medicine mishri was used
You see her knowledge and trueness in speaking we know jaggery
No need to show your intelligence jaggery or sugar see her knowledge and trueness
We add coconut water. not sugar or gur in panchamrit.
