- The weather was perfect for this sheepshead trip with MJ. Sunny skies, low winds and a slow moving current an hour before and after low tide. We caught a good number of convicts using fiddler crabs rigged on Bottom Sweeper jigs. The bite was pretty much non stop, catching fish ranging in all different shapes and sizes!

Its really cool being able to reconize where you are which is something i almost never get to see on CZcams
planning to move to Charleston in the next few months and hoping to eventually have a boat. I can't wait for adventures like this and I thank you for taking us along.
Thanks man! You will love it here. Especially after you figure out the waterways!
What a beautiful day to fish 🎣 for convicts, way to get it done ✅ go MJ!
Yes it was a great day out there. And she out fished me.....again.
Looks like the ole coal shute in the cooper river
Hey brother nice video, I've been fishing sheepshead since before hurricane Hugo with a handling, just a few tips when they are acting shady, change your set-up from jigs to maybe split shots and circle hooks
Yes, that always seems to work. They can be finicky sometimes. Thanks for the advice!
I want to learn saltwater fishing, I lived through Hugo and put in at leeds but no luck!
Really loves sheephead fishing more videos thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. I will be doing a bunch of sheepshead videos here this fall!
You made me want to go Sheepshead fishing. Nice!
Yes! Get out there! Sheepshead fishing can be frustrating at times but once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy.
Great fishing video with some really nice sheep heads
Thanks for the support! I'll have another video coming next week.
Way to go guys, good sheepshead action, and info as always 👍 great to see M catching up the sheepshead! Hookem to Cookem.
Yes we had a great day and she was high hook!
@scfishtales I’m new to the charleston area big fisherman from nc and never caught any sheeps I would love to go with you one day
They’re so fun
Yes. It's always fun to go sheepshead fishing every once in a while. It's a totally different style than what I usually do.
Woooohoooo, good one M.
Yes, she was high hook again!
Is it pretty good fishing there in late December or January?
Nice day.
Thanks. It was a beautiful day which made it much easier.
Awesome job as always my man! Great video! Let’s get out together soon
Thanks man. It was a perfect day out there as well as far as conditions go. That always makes it way easier.
You should call her Bo Peep!
Haha. Yes, she knows how to get the sheep!
Great fishing 🎣
Thanks for the support! 💪
@@SCFishTales keep up the great videos and be safe out there in this world may God keep blessing you and your family
Likewise my friend. 🙏
It's a nice video. Could you informe about location?
Y’all catch sheepshead year round in SC? NC is mainly summer/fall. I see this was uploaded January
Yes, we can get them all year round here.
How deep of water do u look for or just structure is the key
Great job on the Sheep! Was that during dead low tide?
Dedlow is always my preference, but on this trip, we were about an hour after low.
Where's is this at
Enjoyed the video" can you suggest a good place to launch a boat in or near Charleston for some inshore sheepshead fishing which has lots or barnacle covered poles without having to make a long boat ride?
Honestly, anywhere you put in around Charleston should have easy access to docks, which should all be holding sheepshead right now. I see them on floating docks all the time too.
He ain't giving up that spot but if u know charlston it ain't hard to find
What boat landing do you go out to get to the place your fishing at
That day was Remley's.
What is that location
What ramp do o go to to get there ? And could my 14 ft no boat make it there?
This day we put in at Remley's Point. It can handle your boat no problem at all.
are you anchored up? how do u get close without banging the boat on the pilings?
Yes, we were anchored. It took a few times to get the boat just right. Also, I always anchor on the downside of the current. That way my boat floats away from the pilings instead of toward them.
So I noticed some signs on these pilings the other day saying no loitering or fishing. We're those there when you guys were shooting this and you just roll the dice?
Yeah we don't tie off to the bridge or touch it in any way.
How do I get to this
what are the rod specs on your Shimano Teramar please?
This one I believe is a 7' medium action.
That is one fish I can not get the hang of catching to save my life.....lol
Same here. It's very frustrating.
Keep trying! It's worth it.
Yes, many years ago, it took me several trips to get the hang of it. Once you do master it, it is certainly a ton of fun!
Just drop anchor and set hook
Haha. Yes! That's how you do it!
Hey bud I bought some of your product from haddrells .. what bridge is this ? I’m new to fishing in Charleston n sheepshead .. I got a 25hp Jon boat
That's by the Ravenel bridge.
@@SCFishTales I see why u use 2oz .. that current was always moving on me so I just ended up crabbing
I just checked. .. imma have to go once the current isn’t as strong . Them run down pillars is over there in open water
Yes very true
What size bottom sweeper do you use? 1/2 oz?
Depends on the tide. But I use 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 oz if out by the jetties.
Ugh! Sheepshead… definitely have a tough time with them myself
Same here.
Yes, they can be very frustrating for sure. It takes time to figure it all out.
Keep trying. It just takes time and patience. But well worth the time you put into it.
How do you get to that spot can you tell me please
Remley's Point boat landing.
What bait should I use if I don’t have fiddler crabs?
The easiest bait to get would be fresh local shrimp from the grocery store.
@@SCFishTales I was thinking about going to that same spot and then I saw your video so now I know it’s a good spot
Anyway we can catch fiddler crab instead of buying ?
Yes, this time of year they are everywhere on the banks. Just make sure you know the difference between pluff mud and solid ground so you don't sink in!
@@SCFishTales thanks a lot brother
Any time. Glad to help.
Where about is this located? Good job!
This was in the Charleston harbor area.
What boat ramp do you use to get there
Can use several but this was at Remley's.
what is the best time of the year for those studs ?
It depends on where you live. Here in Charleston you can catch them year-round. During the colder winter months, the bigger ones move offshore and then come back in when the water warms up to about 60 to 65°.
@@SCFishTales we are up in PA, we fish Ocean City MD , our inshore sheep season is August and September
water temp around 70 , when the water get below 70 we still find them in the wrecks 10-20 miles from shore in October
very few in November , However you can find them in the Chesapeake bay VA till end of November inshore
we are planning to come your way mid march and give it a try
Thank you very much for your time
Yes ok. I grew up fishing the ocean and Delaware Bay in New Jersey. The sheepshead bite should be good down here in mid March.
@@SCFishTales thank you
Any time! 👍
