FILM DESCRIPTION:
After graduating from Harvard, Bryan Stevenson heads to Alabama to defend those wrongly condemned or those not afforded proper representation. One of his first cases is that of Walter McMillian, who is sentenced to die in 1987 for the murder of an 18-year-old girl, despite evidence proving his innocence. In the years that follow, Stevenson encounters racism and legal and political maneuverings as he tirelessly fights for McMillian's life.

The fact this movie was never nominated for an Oscar is an absolute crime.

Looking back even though it was a outstanding movie you can't take away of Joaquin Phoenix's performance in Joker.

That’s because this wasn’t it.
I took my dad to see this film and we were brought to tears. I wish this film won awards and I wish the cast won awards for their performance. The sad reality is things like this still happen.
Watching SMAI is so addictive, listening to him talk ... I love his voice ..so peaceful , calm, and powerful. When he plays these pivotal roles .. I see a Hero.
Such a beautiful film
The sad thing is that the real Johnny D has dementia amid this awful 6 year experience, and died. I bet there were some lawsuits against both that town’s police department, and the state of Alabama.
I cried so hard watching this!

I may be wrong, but I believe the last scene is going to the Supreme Court to file a lawsuit against the police department in that Alabama town.
Never mind. I watched it, and it is trying to get rid of the Death Penalty. However, some people may deserve it, such as mass shooters and terrorists. So I am not sure what should happen.
