Before a fleet of new cars enter revenue service, they must go through rigorous testing for various things. Here is NYC’s first open-gangway R211T 4040-4049 doing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and speed testing on the express track of the BMT Brighton line.

Ok that was you yesterday. Ok
The conductor on the Q train is having an absolute of a lifetime! The Q looks amazing with the R211.
Train Operator
@@brownhornet1975 no?
@@Lemon-zw7cb no?
Brighton Line from what I had is #3 on the list after the 8th Avenue Line and the Sea Beach Line.
@@brownhornet1975 conductors and train opreators are two different things
That epic honk. 0:35
That was me giving all of the buffs out there a good horn show whenever i was operating. I’m glad you enjoyed it
@@brownhornet1975 Ya'll were movin' out there fr. Nice to see the 211T making progress
LIRR/MNRR moment
0:30 Nice Horn Play! 😀👍🏻
W woman driving the r68 yellow shuttle
Yup 🤣
Loved that moment 😂😁
"Driving"?....operating is the correct term
So a woman can’t drive trains ? 🤨
@@williamerazo3921he’s implying that “operating” is the correct term, not driving. Not that women can’t operate or drive.
They very much resemble the R42s, R44s, R46s, R68s bodywise but the propulsion is the same as the R160s, R179s they are good durable cars that easy to bound with plenty of room with a smooth ride for the fellow Melanite brother here just rode on the R211A test train along the IND 8th Avenue was very impressive that he photographed the interior plus the stainless steel which had been a MTA motif so admiration appreciation here😊😊😊😊
wut
Her peace sign @ 6:54! 😁
They said on the news that they will be testing the new R211 for a month during regular service on the A line only! If all goes well, they'll add on more R211s on different lines! Welp I guess the A train passed its test for other lines to share in such glory!!! Although this video may be a "testing" video, it still confirms the A train did its job! Thanks A train!!! And I don't mean the wrestler lol😅😅
1:28 Wow that R211T just did a hornshow
Nice shots of the 46/68A rolling out of sta. 🥇
tyty 🤝
@@logical.01 ✌️🤟
WOW THIS IS NIIIICE
A race between the R179 (A) train and the R211A/T (B) train. Now that is a race of the future!
Nice video and W Angles!! this feels like of it was a Railroad
I love how they redesigned the front
the only good thing about it.
What if the r211t went 55 mph? That would be insane!
I got up to 53
Yes, it would 🫢
They can do 55. All of them can.
@@blue9multimediagroup They can… but do they have enough space to? No. So you get the speed that I can get to. 53. And that was only one time.
They can, but they don't often reach it. I think they're certified for like 75. The Chicago subway often hits 55 in some sections.
R211T on brighton line is cool
this is sick asf and some nice ass operators tho
It would be cool if an R211T B train passes by and an R160B Siemens Q train arrives
That would be 🤯🤯🤯
The R160 Came back on the Q
My Fault They still using The R46 It's the oldest Since 1975
N and Q Should get the R160s Back
Q train gets 1 R160 during rush hour. N has none.
I remember you out there on the platform @logical
Seen them at coney shops yesterday Beauty
Yup, right for us to see 😮
It's only one set
The Propultion Sounds extremly similar to the Kawaski R160s
This is the Alstom OptoniX inverter control system. It can be found on other metros with slight variations (Hong Kong,Sydney , soon Paris,etc....)
The modulation is indeed close to that of Siemens Sitrac
Thought this was Brighton England at first, then I realised!
My best friend, Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks Have a happy day! Keep it up! +thumb up3!
Thanks! ✌️
7:26 A gray shuttle train, just like on the A line in Brooklyn
Also I am gonna miss that R46 shuttle train
R46 : please help me
R211 : no
That speed tho of the R211T
Sweet horn
That motor sound and track sounds is so familiar to be OT reminds be the main line suburban train system Mumbai India. Well. How much power do these trains need?
The 211 Ts Should Be In Service Ina Month Or 2..God I Miss The R32s lol But The 211s Look Dope Tho
6:20 The driver lady waved hello
When will the 211
T be in service
NOT EXCITED ABOUT NO RAIL FAN WINDOW EQUIPPED RAILCARS
the fact the rollsign flashes from orange B to yellow B
Damn! Didn’t know the NYC Subway went all the way into Britain /j
😂
So This Means That This One 1 Is Going On This Line Right?!:-)
You’d think if it was high speed testing they would just have it as a B train only!
lol yeah, but what if it was the D? 🫣
@@logical.01 what about the 3?
@@graceful797 Impossible.
@@graceful797 nah the 1
@@graceful797 for express service
Pardon me. Why is the graphic for the B line flashing??
It has to do with the way film photography technology works. I can’t really give specifics as it’s been ages since I last educated myself on the subject but when viewed with your own eyes it wouldn’t look like that.
The refresh rate on the LED’s are too fast for the camera to register smoothly, so it looks like it’s flashing (but in reality, it’s just orange)
R211T-1 (normal)+R211T-2 (soft shell)
How much power does this train consume in KW?
3:08 The train stopped again this time in reverse
4:28 It's happened again
It seems like MRT train sound from Singapore.
Alstom OptoniX as Singapore (and they use OniX too)
1:54 I think the train stopped at a red light or something
Did you see the old emblem under the current MTA logo on the first R68 shuttle car?1
Have cars 4050-4059 (R211T set #2) been delivered yet?
4050-4054 has been here for over a month now, but nothing about 4055-4059 has been heard or seen.
Question: Does anyone have even a "ballpark" idea which lines will receive assignment of the R211Ts once they're approved for revenue service?
Supposedly, they'll be on the E/F/R (Jamaica yard) lines. Not too sure.
What speed did they get it up too?
53 MPH, I think
It kinda sounds like an R62A or R68/A
SHE’S EATING WHEEEWWWW
what the hell are you talking about??? 🤔
What?!
@@robroy6374 🤣🤣
😭😭
and the side rollsign is glitching
How is long time R211 will be test ?
It will take more time until the service is ready.
So r211t is an test train
I thought the r211t couodn't run express
It is only restricted from some express portions, and this was before it entered revenue service.
The ZOOM feature ruins it...... Ciao !
bye !
thyristor controlled?
inverters IGBT
The lead truck on the “A” car is not a motor truck? Or is the “A” car a trailer car on the R211T?
No clue, but the propulsion sounds real quiet on 4045…
Well, if R211T is like that, that means R211A is also like that. Ain't no way MTA would do R211 like that, especially that would've been costly for having two different platforms for the motors
@@JonathanChan212 mmmm, yeah probably
How do you figure it's not a motor truck?
Probably the motor car are in center of the trainset....
T-M-M-M-T for a trainset (Trailer - Motor car)
The underbody equipment identifies where the inverters are which are usually on motorized cars.
Why are the Q Trains labeled (S) in various colors?
Oh yes, forgot to mention- Q trains were running in 2 sections. This section was a shuttle along the Brighton line!
What does EMI Mean
Electromagnetic Interference
@@logical.01 ok
@@reynoldsoakley7964 in easier terms, it’s just the power distribution from the train propulsion and third rail power 👌
They have a new L train guys, just like what's in this video!! Go find a L train station and go get your ride on TODAY!!!
Pray to see them on Brighton as I avoid the R46s at all costs due to my extreme hate for them, even going as far as refusing to see my sick mom at home every weekend.
you mad, bro?
@@robroy6374 Mad at the Jamaica-Coney Island Yard swap that has put the fat old junks on my route.

High speed on the subway? HA-No. Do that crap on the Lirr or Metro North, they actually have 80 mph segments.
True… just like the R46’s 😉
