Everything she does has meaning. She represented Cleopatra's entrance into Rome. According history Cleopatra entered Rome as a goddess, the romans hated her, they didn't like how pretentious she was, it was hostile territory. Madonna, the Queen of LGBT Community, entered into this macho enviroment (hostile territory too) which is the Super Bowl, showing her power, leaving them in awe. The spectacle had more rating than the game itself, which is funny, all the gays were watching this show at the same time!! Stunning!! The best SuperBowl Halftime Show in History!!! That entrance won't be matched, ever!! Long live the Queen!!

Best Super Bowl Halftime show ever period! 👑
No one has ever topped that freaking stage, no fake audience needed or cheap fireworks, that's the queen showing how it's done, she's the top touring artist after all. The camara couldn't take everything that was happening, she was doing 2 shows at the same time, for the people at the stadium and for the ones at home.
If not, THE BEST HALFTIME SHOW of all time, the broadcast of it reunited a high number of people watching this worldwide!

The entrance is totally inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's entrance into Rome in Cleopatra. Epic in every way. Millennial pop stars can't adopt and present pop culture references like this. Also remember this Madonna at 54 performing with the energy of people half her age.

Fantastic show. It’s easy to forget that Madonna has real charisma because in spite of guests and dancers you really look at her doing her thing. Of course the songs are good but her attention to details really made this halftime show one of my fav of not my ultimate fav, a feast for the eyes and ears. Fun fact: I heard back then she really was scared that the gladiators marching in the beginning ( they were not professionals but locals) she was scared they wouldn’t walk in rythme and then ruined the entrance ! And it all went great, the entrance indeed was everything. A queen 👑

Her entrance was absolutely based on Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra. I remember telling all the straight guys that were watching the Super Bowl with us that I’d give them $50 if they could tell me the movie that inspired it. Needless to say I kept my money.

Dereck. This production was the best ever. Just one suggestion I have for you. Don’t assume that everyone has seen this video. You’re giving away all the surprises. Who pops up to perform with her? What song is next? The cool mix of her songs. Let your audience be has surprised as we all were in 2012. This is what an A game looks like. She was the first to utilize the field in front of her. It was amazing. She handed out finger lights to every member of the audience. Her goal was to create a show that include something that would appeal to everyone. The spectacle in the beginning. Kids of all ages would love it. This was an all American show. Cheerleaders. A marching band and a choir. Best ever 13 minute production.
By the way, Give me all your Lovin' was the lead single from MDNA - which came out in time for this Superbowl performance - which gave it huge hype and drove it into the top 10.
Madonna says she was under high stress during this performance. She’s performing on a stage that is promised to her to work. If it doesn’t, her neck is on the line. She says after this performance, she laid on the floor in the locker room and cried.
The GMAYL video is fun as hell. She specifically made it as a lead up to the Halftime show as it has a football theme.
Give Me All Your Luvin' has a fun video. :) And yea, Madonna didn't know M.I.A. flipped the finger (she was not happy about it).
I’ve always liked, Give me all your luvin’. It’s got a great catchy beat. Seems like it’s not a favorite amongst many Madonna fans though for whatever reason. I recommend reacting to the music video. It’s pretty fun! And, to all you people goin on and on and on about it was pre-recorded, almost EVERY Super Bowl halftime show is pre-recorded. Loved this performance, thoroughly entertaining, I've watched this countless times, when it first aired I sat down & watched it with my son & daughter and they enjoyed it too, I believe it was the highest rating Superbowl half-time show in history & apparently outratred the game itself...GO MADONNA!...all hail the Queen!

EPIC show....her mid 50s and she owned it, the MDNA album showcased in 2012 she hd the energy and creativity to push forward and be ahead of todays lot....it's a post-divorce album full of high energy anthems, vapid lyrics ver yEXTRA production...personally I love it! Recommend that album...GMAYL video is worth it too...and Girl Gone Wild video!

MDNA was about to come out. Gimme All Your Luvin' was just released as a single, with a football themed fun video too. Video is better than the song, but that's why she did that song here, to promote the album's release. If you look at the throne she is brought in on, MDNA is spray painted in graffiti on the back of the chair. Cirque du Soleil helped with the performance too. Best SuperBowl halftime ever. No question.

I was there- go watch vids on CZcams from inside the stadium and watch the setup. Unreal. Also- she used her own money to buy flashlights- when you entered you were handed a flashlight and told to listen for instructions. While they were setting up the stage the announcer explained to watch for the flames on the wrap around screens, you can see those in the background. They said when you see these flames, and they showed them, turn on your flashlights and wave them. She knows the real audience were the billions at home and what that would look like: so those weren’t phones or lighters like you thought, she planned and bought and provided those flashlights with audience participation instructions. No one is better: period. No one.

As for Give Me All Your Luvin', that was designed to be football-themed from the outset. She almost certainly knew she had the Super Bowl deal in the bag when she made the music video to that song, as it is very football/cheerleader themed, so in a way it was created especially for this very moment. This is probably why the song got so much time in this halftime performance.
